The beginning of this supernatural love story was really promising, and though the plot was very predictable I enjoyed reading about Annabelle and Christian falling in love - of course, there were the usual obstacles and doubts on their way. Unfortunately, towards the end it got too corny for my taste and also slightly ridiculous, especially Annabelle's dumb decision. Also, there was some wicca and a medium (honestly, I didn't understand why she needed that as well) thrown into the mix which was just a bit too much. Bottom line: nice twist on a ghost love story.
The type of book that I didn't expect to love. It's quite surprising that I enjoyed this book so much. I really love it and I highly recommend everyone to read it

This was an interesting story, but for me it felt a little short and a bit rushed. I enjoyed reading the backstory of the farmhouse and its previous owners as well as getting insight as to why Christian’s spirit was stuck there after he took his own life. The love story was difficult for me to grasp, though, because Annabelle and Christian only had a handful of interactions together. The tiny glimpse they had into one another’s lives didn’t seem like it would enough to build feelings for one another in such a short amount of time. But overall, I thought it was a really unique story, but I think I enjoyed the idea of it more than what was actually written.

Oh. This was so dark.
I was not prepared. And it honestly wasn't my thing.
Perhaps if one read this book dirong spooky season or October. Or if one is a fan of macabre.
This just wasn't me.
I usually prefer to go into a book blindly. I don't really read blurbs or reviews and comments by others. I like opening a book without knowing what's coming. It usually works for me.
And perhaps to the target audience, this book would be most enjoyed.
Moving on.
After running away from a physically and mentally abusive husband, Annabelle settles in an old 1860's farmhouse in a quiet area to get her life back together, while she waits for her husband to sign the divorce papers. Annabelle ends up falling in love with the resident ghost Christian, who was cursed to remain in situ for 100 years after a tragedy of the heart.
I thought this book was rather odd in the way various different elements of the story were put together. Annabelle seems to fall in love with the ghost instantly. There wasn't a real build up to the romance or connection which cemented the fact that they both had fallen for each other. Although there were some nice moments of them being aware of each other in the kitchen, I didn't get the impression they were in love. The fact that Annabelle falls in love with another man at the same time, was a bit wishy washy for me. Despite this, I thought the bones of this unusual paranormal romance was good, but wished more narrative had been spent on the ghost romance which I felt was rushed and skipped over.
This book was so crazy weird and beautiful that I could not put it down.
Annabelle decides to leave her abusive husband and start over in the country. The house she buys is haunted by ghost named Christian. He is cursed to stay with the house for one hundred years. When Annabelle moves in everything changes, he saves her and they start to fall in love. Annabelle can only be with him in her dreams. Crazy right!
This book kept me engaged the whole time. I loved the small town and all the people who live there. This is a fast read with lots of very interesting plot twists.
The only thing I wish was different was the cover, it doesn’t match the story at all.

"Nothing in the universe can stop you from letting go and starting over." - Guy Finley
Annabelle has left her abusive husband and is starting over in a 1860's farmhouse. She is a journalist who wants quiet time to write, regroup and begin again. Except there are things that go bump in the night!
Christian has been cursed to be on the Earth for 100 years after his death. This is his farmhouse, and he doesn't want anyone in it. But he will not have to put up with interlopers much longer, his time on Earth is almost up.
Annabelle can't see him, except for in her dreams. Christian is everything she wants in a man, except for this obvious fact that he is dead.
This is not your typical ghost book. Nor is it your typical paranormal romance. This is a book about an abusive woman starting over. About friendship, about new beginnings, about letting go, and about falling in love.
This is a short book which packed an emotional punch and I found myself reaching for tissues toward the end. I am happy that I decided to pick this book up. It proved to be a captivating and endearing fast read which I read this in one sitting. I enjoyed that there were not too many characters bogging this story down. All the characters in this book contributed to the storyline.
My only complaint is really a quibble. I wished the book had a brighter cover. One that is more enticing as this is a wonderful little gem and I would hate to think of this book being judged by its cover.
