I really enjoyed this book , it was my first time reading from this author and have to say it won’t be the last time , I really enjoyed the authors writing style.

I didn’t love this book, it was ok and the writing style was as per usual great but it was the story that I didn’t love this time round. Which is unusual for me and Kelk.

Another linsdey kelk book that have me crying of laugher! I don't know what she puts in her books but this is another pure gold one!

Full of so much warmth and humour. I absolutely loved Lindsey Kelk's "I Heart" series, so I leapt at the chance to read this Christmas rom com, and it exceeded all expectations. Yes, I am reading a Christmas book in the middle of February, but its sparkling wit and heartfelt emotion is just the antidote to the bleak winter weather and dark evenings. Gwen Baker is newly dingle and has had to move out of her home, and work is going badly after she threw some histrionics at work. She just wants to return to the family fold for Christmas. A cosy Christmas in the countryside is exactly what she needs. Mid reminiscence of her breakup and tears in her eyes, she is surprised to see her childhood crush Dev Jones over the garden fence. Unrequited lust is alive like never before as he is just as handsome as a grown man. One issue - he is attached. Another problem is that Gwen finds herself waking to the same day over and over, a Christmas groundhog, and her crush doesn't remember any of their moments together. A fabulous read that has heart and will also have you laughing out loud. #thechristmaswish #lindseykelk #romance #netgalley

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book. I have chosen to write this honest review voluntarily and it reflects my personal opinion.
I enjoyed the film 'Groundhog Day' and was attracted to this book because of the plot. Set in England, I found the numerous American spellings of words very irritating and distracting. There was unnecessary bad language which added nothing to the story, the inclusion of the church scene with the information that Gwen did not go to church at all in a Christmas - themed book was not to my taste and I didn't warm to the main character, Gwen, who seemed reluctant to learn from her mistakes. The work scene where she threw a solid object at a client was not credible, regardless of reactive emotion the potential for harm would stop most people from doing such a thing. On a personal note I was disappointed to read Cerys 'didn't eat gluten' but there was no mention of how this added to the difficulties of trying to cook Christmas dinner, avoiding cross- contamination, and was even ignored in relation to eating the homemade Christmas pudding - as a sufferer of coeliac disease who cannot eat gluten I don't understand why this was mentioned at all if it didn't add to the story. In all I thought this book wasn't as good as I was expecting.

This fun and quirky festive romance had me laughing out loud. With a very relatable main character and wacky "Groundhog Day" storyline, this is a little festive gift that keeps on giving.
Gwen's life is in turmoil, her longterm boyfriend cheated then kicked her out of their home. Now her high flying career as a lawyer is at stake, following an emotional breakdown involving a stapler and a misogynistic clients head.
She and her wonderfully supportive cousin, Manny travel to their home town for a cosy family Christmas. Only the festivities don't exactly go as planned, somehow in the middle of the chaos, Gwen ends up trapped in a perpetual Christmas day time loop.
Sweet, light hearted, yet emotional and very funny, this story is sure to spark joy in any reader. I highly recommend this one.

This was a really unique and engaging read by one of my favourite authors. A really fabulous festive read, full of lots of festive elements as Gwen is forced to live Christmas Day over again. I loved the food, the focus on family, the sense of community and the slow burn romance that develops. It was a laugh out loud, joyful book and a real pleasure to read.

In true Lindsey Kelk fashion this romance hooks you and is such a fun read. I enjoyed the dysfunctional family, holiday feels and romance. Lindsey Kelks books never fail, she is a go to author for me.

An absolutely brilliant Christmas read. Gwenn is experiencing a Groundhog Day of Christmas Day.
Gwen has lost her Christmas spirit due to a series of unfortunate things happening in her life and affecting her law career that the family think so highly of. The story unfolds as she goes on a journey of self discovery about what would make her happy in the future and being honest with herself and her family too. Reconnecting with an old friend Dev. Who helps along the way. Could he be the key to unlocking the Christmas loop she is stuck in?
Lidsey Kelk does a perfect job at creating a Christmas book that isn’t too Christmasy. Great characters throughout as well that you love and some you’ll definitely relate to or you’ll know someone like them. This is the first book by Kelk that I’ve read and boy will I be reading more by her, she’s such an easy funny read. Such a great pace that I struggled to put it down as it just kept you engrossed wanting more.
If you want a warm, funny Christmas novel then I 100% recommend this.

Absolutely loved this! Gwen was brilliant, Manny was brilliant, the concept was fab and I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. I loved Gwen and Manny’s relationship and thought they had some brilliant funny lines. It’s a Christmas story without being ridiculously Christmassy, it’s just that everything that happens happens on that day. I’d really recommended it .

I love a good groundhog day storyline, so The Christmas Wish was the perfect book for me. I loved repeating Christmas Day with Gwen, getting to know her family more and also getting to meet the lovely Dev. Lindsey did a fantastic job at making this book work, it's a complex plot to work with, but she smashed it. It was the perfect balance of fun, hilarious and heart-warming. I will have to admit there was a little too many "real life" references woven within the conversations, but overall the premise itself was incredible, I had a great time.

The Christmas Wish by @lindseykelk a NetGalley review. Gwen is a lawyer, heading back home for a family Christmas, she’s recently broken up from her boyfriend and isn’t having the time of her life at work. However this Christmas with her family doesn’t turn out as she expected at all, a case of careful what you wish for! This is one of the authors I always enjoy reading and this book wasn’t any different, actually probably one of the best of hers I’ve read. From the beginning it was witty, lighthearted and laugh out loud funny. This is a great book to get you in the Christmas spirit and appreciate what you have around you, it may have been funny but the story beneath that still comes through. The story did take an unexpected turn that I didn’t expect, I don’t want to give anything away and at this point my heart sunk a bit because it could mean it could get very repetitive and boring very quickly, a concept that had in my opinion be over done, however there is no doubt that this book and the story is a success. I loved Gwen’s character (actually all the characters are brilliant) she’s obviously very intelligent being a lawyer but she’s funny, honest, clumsy, seems lost in life, bumbling along, a people pleaser with the best of intentions, who’s trying to find her place in life, while mending a broken heart! Her family feel just as real a eclectic mix of people, who feel real and raw and without knowing it out expectations on each other. I think although this is a great Xmas read this is a great read for anytime of year. I will be recommending this to family and friends and I wish I had read it sooner. Another great book from a great author. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

3.5* rounded up
The Christmas Wish was the festive release from Lindsey Kelk last year and it was my first festive book of this year (I ran out of time in 2022)!
In this, we meet Gwen who has gone home for Christmas a few months after her partner dumped her and then proceeds to repeat Christmas Day a number of times in a Groundhog Day style!
Overall I had a lot of fun reading this and experiencing the many disastrous attempts at Christmas Day. Gwen was likeable (although a bit frustrating at times) and I enjoyed the family dynamics too. I felt that a lot of the story was related to Gwen trying to sort out her life out (i.e. deal with the fallout from her relationship ending and deal with problems at the Magic Circle law firm she works at) and having tough familial conversations, rather than the romance aspect. That’s no bad thing, but as someone who reads a lot of romance I would’ve liked more of her interactions and budding relationship with Dev. I especially liked Gwen’s relationship with her cousin Manny (who gets his own romance) too!
I’m always a bit iffy about magical realism as my brain just doesn’t work that way, but I thought the premise worked well here and I enjoyed seeing how Gwen took note of different events happening at each Christmas Day and incorporating the titbits of information. I also appreciated Kelk’s trademark humour popping up at every stage!
Thank you to the publisher for supplying me with a gifted copy.

I know it's only July but I couldn't resist reading this one. It's been on my TBR pile for a while now and I wanted to get stuck in.
I really like Gwen, she's a bit of an overthinker like myself so very relatable, as was her relationship breakdown and her job that she doesn't enjoy and there being some unsavoury characters in her job.
I really like the relationship that Gwen has with her Cousin Manny, it's like best friends rather than family and it's so heartwarming.
I was really routing for Gwen, she's such a great character. The groundhog day scenario was really funny but with a serious edge. Decision making is the order of the day (recurring). I love Christmas but not sure I could cope with Christmas day again and again, haha.
I also loved throughout the book the mentions of different TV series, most of which I've watched recently.
I love the character Dev and I so hoped all the way through the book, from the moment you meet him in the back garden.

I really cared about these characters. Laughed in a lot of places and was close to tears in others. A great festive read.

Took me awhile to get through this book but I nonetheless enjoyed it. Loved the family and how they were together had wholesome vibes. Enjoyed the romance when it came about
Would read more from this author 💖

I really enjoyed this tale of a Christmas "groundhog day". Gwen has lost her Christmas spirit due to a series of unfortunate things happening in her life an ld affecting her career that the family think so highly of. . The story unfolds as she goes on a journey of self discovery about what would.make her happy in the future and being honest with herself and her family too. Reconnecting with an old friend, Dev helps along the way. Could he be the key to unlocking the Christmas loop she is stuck in? A lovely feel good Christmas tale with a difference.

This was my first book by Lindsey Kelk and omg I cannot wait for more! Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for a chance to read this.
This was an hilarious read following Gwen who was reliving the same day over and over again. What would you do?
Definitely one for fans of Groundhog Day- Gwen normally loves Christmas but after finding out her boyfriend cheated on her and something from work this year she is not looking forward to her. Through living it over and over, she got a chance to explore things, worked some things out and learnt a lot in process about herself and life in general.

The Christmas Wish by Lindsey Kelk was just wonderful. Lindsey is one of my favourite authors and it left me with a warm fuzzy Christmassy feeling. It hooked me in from the first few pages. What would you do if you kept repeating the same day over and over again?

This is Lindsey Kelk at her finest. A laugh out loud page turner about the ups and downs of a London career girl who loves her family and comes home for Christmas broken hearted from a breakup and career worries. This book is a must buy for Lindsey Kelk fans but is also a great intro to her work. Buy it now or anytime of year to give you that warm fuzzy feeling that Christmas brings. We would all love a family like Gwen’s.
