This is another perfect example of Kelk at her best. Rounded, fantastic characters that bounce off the page, a lovely blend of poignancy and humour, and a general feel of festivity make this book a quick, enjoyable read. One for everyone..

When I got approved for this book I actually could have cried with happiness!!! Lindsey Kelk is one of my all time favourite authors and to get early access to her latest novel was an absolutely dream.
I started this book this morning because I needed a break from my current read, and I’ve just finished reading it. To have read it in under 6 hours speaks for itself on how good it was. The Christmas magic, the family feel…everything about it made for such a wholesome, heartwarming read.
We meet Gwen who has had a bit of a rough time in the run up to Christmas, as she heads home for Christmas with cousin/BFF Manny by her side. What she doesn’t bank on is experiencing Christmas Day over and over again, Groundhog Day style!! As frustrated as she is with her predicament, she learns some much needed lessons about herself and those around her.
This book just had everything. Humour, festivities, bickering, banter, romance…you name it and this book had it. I absolutely loved every second of reading it and I think it could be up there with one of my favourite Lindsey Kelk books so far!!! I urge you all to read this book this Christmas time, you won’t be disappointed!

You can always rely on Lindsey Kelk for feel good chick lit and this is no exception, who can resist a novel with a smattering of Christmas cheer too

Oh sweet Santa, how I loved this book! Lindsey Kelk is one of the best romantic comedy writers of our generation! She never fails to write an absolutely brilliant story that makes you laugh until you cry and swoon until you cry happy tears. She's the Queen of All the Feels!
Gwen is amazing, I want her to be my bestie. Oh and Manny.
Honestly, one of the best books I've read in a long time. Probably since On A Night Like This came out... All hail Queen Kelk!!!!!

I love a Christmas read, I love a romance read and I love Kelk's books, so I knew I was onto a winner with this! A lot of people can relate to Gwen's life and I enjoyed getting to know her, seeing where her life is and discovering the possible changes she can make. Plus, Gwen's family are an eclectic mix and they were really fun to get to know.
A groundhog day book can sometimes become dull as events repeat themselves too often but not in this book. Kelk manages to repeat events enough that you know it is groundhog day without going into too much unnecessary detail. I did not feel bored once and raced through this book.
'A Christmas Wish' is a glorious, romantic, Christmassy read that will warm your heart.
Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins UK for an advance copy.

I really enjoyed this one! This is the perfect Christmassy read. Gwen goes home to spend Christmas with her family after her break up. Do you wish it could be Christmas every day? I am not sure Gwen does! If you are looking for a Christmas love fest then maybe this one isn't for you. I loved the family dynamics as for me Christmas is all about family. Lindsey Kelk writes the family dynamics extremely well and as usual her humour is second to none. This was an amazing second chance romance with a huge aspect of finding yourself and your place in the world. I am a huge Lindsey fan and didn't think anything could be up there with the I heart series.... This hasn't beaten it but it's definitely up there.

What a thoroughly enjoyable story this was. A Groundhog Christmas story where Christmas Day repeats for the heroine of the story, Gwen. It trotted along at a good pace to start with and then picked up and I became intrigued to find out where the story would go. It was well written and I became very involved in Gwen's Christmas. With lots of humour and really believable characters and scenarios, this story was really easy to read.
I really loved all the lead characters, with a few exceptions most of the minor ones. Gwen is stuck in Christmas Day hell trying to work out what she needs to do to move on to Boxing Day. I loved Gwen for her determination to work it out and do the right things for everyone. I was so delighted to find out how she works it out. I especially loved Dev, the boy next door, he was just perfect and Manny, her cousin, who is more like a brother to her, was so funny. All the characters work so well together and add so much to the story.
This was a great read. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a fun, relaxing, easy Christmas read.

Lindsey Kelk's festive read offers the concept of a Christmas Groundhog Day, set in Baslow in Derbyshire, for 32 year old Gwen Baker, who finds herself having to relive Christmas Day with her family again and again. This might be a dream for some, but for Gwen it is anything but, here Kelk uses the device to put family members and relationships, along with Gwen's identity and her life which is falling apart, under the spotlight. I should warn readers expecting strong elements of romance that this is more left in the background. Lawyer Gwen and her cousin, Manny, drive up from London for family Christmas festivities, she is not in a great frame of mind, she still has not got over her relationship with dentist Michael Darden breaking up with his involvement with receptionist, Justine.
To make matters worse, Gwen has been suspended from her job at a prestigious law firm after justifiably attacking a client with a stapler. A chaotic and conflict ridden Christmas day follows where they are joined by Nan, the sister she has never got on with, Cerys, her nightmare husband, Oliver, and their children, Artemis and Arthur. She then bumps into her neighbour, childhood friend, obsession and crush, the handsome Dev Jones, whom she hasn't seen in years, now a cardiologist, and apparently engaged. Gwen is shocked, there are tantrums and tears, when she finds she is reliving Christmas Day, desperate to discover why this keeps happening. This has her probing beneath the surface of her family members, making her mother's wish come true, becoming aware of her father's unresolved grief, finding out Cerys's life is far from fine, playing an instrumental role in Manny's love life and trying to discover what it is that her Nan most wants.
Through it all, there are the tantalising appearances of Dev, could it be life is offering her a second chance at love? At the heart of this Christmas cracker of a read is the question of Gwen's identity as she is offered opportunities to address the issues and traumas blighting her life, personally and professionally, finding the resilience, power and agency to make decisions that are life altering and fundamentally change her perception of who she is. This is a fun, entertaining and humorous festive read that will appeal to many, although I will admit it took me a little time to become immersed in the feel good, escapist story. Many thanks to the publisher for an ARC.

50, 000 twinkling bright Christmas stars for this genuinely laugh-out-loud wonderous piece of writing that had me reading late into the night to finish it.
My husband can frequently be heard chortling to TV and radio shows playing through his headphones. This disturbance of my reading peace earns him the look, I mean why can't he enjoy it without loud guffaws that distract the rest of us? So you can imagine my mortification, and general eating of very humble pie, when I found myself constantly sniggering and outright giggling at The Christmas Wish. For the first time in a long time, I read a book, this book, in one sitting. It went beyond the question of not wanting to put it down and into the realm of being unable to put it down.
Gwen learns you can most definitely have too much of a good thing. One Christmas day with a typical dysfunctional family was manageable, and two was bearable, but by groundhog day #5 the tinsel definitely had lost its sparkle. Thankfully this heart-warming and life-affirming story didn't lose its shine. In an attempt to get to know those closest to her a little better, to make their wishes come true, Gwen also learnt an awful lot about herself too, like allowing herself to ask for help.
In the way of truly great British comedy, this book deals with some serious themes via the medium of humour. We touch on loss, grief, unresolved anger, sibling rivalry and trust, to name just a few, all whilst laughing, sympathising, commiserating, or fist-pumping whilst muttering "you tell him, Gwen". The situations, the conversations, and the people are so very familiar and that is where the strength of the story lies. It's also why it is so incredibly funny. We've all been tempted to hide when an unwelcome visitor calls, or indeed have hidden - haven't we? It can't just be me 😂!
Normally I would have found the epilogue just a little too sweet, a little too perfect, for my tastes. But let's remember this is a Christmas romance and you can never have too much sugar coating in a holiday love story. I loved Gwen, I loved her crazy, ridiculously normal but troubled family and I adored Drew and Dev. If you read only one Christmas book this year make it this one - you won't regret it.

Thanks to the publishers and Netgalley for an early review copy in return for an honest review.
Well what can I say? Yet again we have a list of characters that I would be delighted to be friends with, a family that sounds delightful (if testing at times!) and we all need a Manny in our life, don't we?!
Funny, romantic and pulls on the heart strings Kelk has produced yet another winner. Loved it
Christmas groundhog Day. Trying to make everyone's Christmas what they wish for, not presents but changes to their lives. From sibling rivalry, broken romanes, new romances and parental expectations. By reliving the day and trying to get it right for another family member each time. Gwen finally gets it right and time moves on but keeping the changes in place. Sounds easy but the reality is hard work. Enjoy the messy family Christmases and how they resolve to find happiness or at least acceptance.

Oh I wish it could be Christmas everyday. But do you, do you really?
Like myself Gwen is a lover all all things Christmas. Family time, mountains of food, Christmas movies, Christmas music and the giving of presents.
However this yeah Gwen really isn't feeling it at all. The love of her life has left her after sleeping with another woman, and her job at Abbots and Abbots which is a prestigious law firm, isn't the fairytale she was led to believe it was. After an incident of misconduct towards Gwen, which made her retaliate and the partners didn't stick up for her leaves her unfairly suspended. Gwen really isn't feeling like going home for the holidays.
Gwen believes that the rest of her family has their life sorted. Her perfect sister, with her perfect life, family and career. Has everything Gwen has ever wanted. But is everything as clear cut as it looks.
But then just like groundhog Day Gwen wakes up to every day being Christmas day on repeat.
Gwen has to figure out how to escape her own living nightmare. Can Gwen fix the family rifts, own up to what has been going on in her life, discover what she wants her future to hold and perhaps find love too.
Another spellbinding book by Lindsey Kelk. Another fun filled, fabulous Christmas read. Full of warmth, whit, love, humour, and chock a block of Christmas sparkle and spirit.

Like the film Christmas Every Day, but tailored specifically to me x
Gwen has to relive the same Christmas every single day until she works out how to get out of the festive loop.
I make it no secret that whatever Lindsey writes, there's no question that I will read it. That and Christmas books being one of my FAVOURITE types of books had me so excited for this one.
Gwen has such a typical British family full of chaos and I LOVED it, and everyone needs a cousin like Manny. There were so many laugh out loud moments, as well as some really heartwarming ones too. I don't want to say too much or give anything away but I'm so glad I got to go on this journey with Gwen! An absolute must on your Christmas TBR this year.
PS. All I could thinking about when reading this book was bacon butties???
*would advise having new Taylor Swift as the soundtrack to your reading, since she's mentioned so much I felt like she was another character in the book. And I'm here for it.

If you could do the same day over, what would you do? I went in knowing nothing; and enjoyed it, once I got past the first bit and the days began to build. I enjoyed the characters and loved the Christmas theme

So every year I excitedly wait for the new Lindsey Kelk book, have done since I Heart New York, and every year it's the same - I stupidly read it way too fast! Yes, this year was no exception!
'The Christmas Wish' introduces us to Gwen Baker, a lawyer who has just found herself single at Christmas after years of waiting for the perfect proposal and in a little bit of strife in her working life too. So now she is travelling home to her family for the traditional Christmas where she can wallow in food, Christmas movies and general festivities to forget about everything. Or so was the plan until she ends up in a festive Groundhog Day where she keeps waking up on Christmas Day and suddenly there is only so many times the same family arguments can happen...
Lindsey, you have done it again, this is another SPECTACULAR book and the festive feel makes it even more special - along with the Wales setting as I am Welsh! Written in Kelk's usual hilarious, relatable, feel-good style you will find yourself grinning, crying, laughing whilst reading this book - life is indeed a rollercoaster like Ronan Keating said as Kelk quotes in this book herself (although I do have to disagree with the reference to his album being bad, am with you all the way with the Taylor Swift love though!!)
Being of a similar age to Lindsey I LOVE her references to nostalgic items and every day life, I feel like elements of my life present through all of her books - particular favourites in this title were the Sylvanian Families centrepiece, how anyone young looking is literally twelve (this is so true!!) and the indecision between a hoisin duck wrap and a tuna baguette (it's such a hard choice!!)
The 'wish for tomorrow' thought really struck.a chord with me in this book, from the opportunity to live the same day without any thought for consequences it makes you realise just how much you can overthink things and also not realise what can be right in front of you, good or bad. I honestly can't recommend this book enough, thank you to Lindsey, Harper Collins and NetGalley for the advanced readers copy - add this to your TBR list now, out in two weeks time on 10th November, perfect Christmas present! Now back to counting down to next year...

Since discovering Lindsey’s books around this time last year I have read my way through all of her standalones and loved every minute of them.
When I first heard about The Christmas Wish my immediate thought was ‘how will that work?’ because I was not (and I know that this is not a common view) a massive fan of Groundhog Day. But the moment I picked this book up I couldn’t stop reading.
I finished this book in an evening, accompanied by hot chocolate and a small plate of digestive biscuits I loved every moment of poor Gwen’s struggle as she relived the same day over and over. Each time changing one more thing just so she could get to Boxing Day alive.
I have to admit that one of my favourite moments probably shouldn’t be, the fireworks in the pantry. Oh, I laughed loud enough that my neighbours probably heard me. But I couldn’t help it. The look of horror that I imagined on Gwen’s face at that second was a picture.
All of the characters that we get introduced to - even poor Cerys who brought out conflicting emotions in me as I can’t help but recall Christmases past for myself where I am the singleton compared somewhat unfavourably with my own settled and seemingly stable sister - made me feel a gamut of emotions.
Manny is the friend everyone wants to have, the close cousin, the one you grow up with and is always there for you (though we’re not all sadly fortunate enough to have a person like him in our lives).
Dev is not perfect and that’s probably what makes him perfect (if that makes sense).
Gwen’s parents were incredible, supportive, understanding, in pain, stressed, everything you know happens at a time of year when everyone is putting on a front so as to not cause pain or stress for anyone else.
The one person who made this even better had to be Myfanwy! Gwen’s nan is AMAZING.
Thank you for a fantastic seasonal read that I will definitely pick up again, especially as I have a special edition Christmas version arriving on my doorstep in November.

Lindsey is an auto-buy author for me and I actually have this on pre-order already but I was so excited to get approved for this arc and immediately started reading it.
Gwen Baker wakes up on what should be Boxing Day but she soon realises that somehow it's actually Christmas Day all over again! And so the time loop begins. Gwen realises that it must be something to do with the sixpence that her family normally wishes on and so she begins to try and figure out which family member needs their wish granted so that life can continue.
I loved this. It has all the laughs that I've came to expect from Lindsey's books and also the nostalgia (My Little Pony and pink frosted lipstick are just two examples that I smiled/cringed at).
But more than that, it was the emotional connection with Gwen's family that got me in the feels. Gwen discovered that sometimes we don't know our family as well as we think we do and can often just take them for granted and I just really thought this was such a lovely message. I really came to love Gwen's family❤
Such a heartwarming and happy story, perfect for Christmas and is now added to my favourites. Also, the romance! I think Gwen trying to sort the wish out was the main plot with the romance as more of a subplot but it was enough to keep me happy!😊
5/5⭐
Thank you to Netgalley, Harper Collins and the author for the review copy, provided in exchange for an honest opinion.

Gwen finds herself reliving Christmas Day over and over again. She must work out why with the help of friends and family and along the way she might also find out what is important to her.
OH MY GOODNESS! I cannot stress how much I LOVE this book, it is genius!!! The storyline was amazing, the characters are brilliant, it is heartwarming, uplifting, romantic and laugh out loud funny in parts. Please buy this book, I want as many people as possible to experience this fantastic book!

This book was just so much fun, reading how Gwen struggles through Christmas day after Christmas day, trying to figure out what she needs to do to get out of her time loop made for a funny, heart warming tale.
Watching Gwen as she strives to make Christmas wishes come true for her family in the hope that this would get her out of the loop was lovely and really well written so that you feel for Gwen and her family, even those who at first don't really deserve it. You just have to get to know them all a bit, day by day, as Gwen does by shedding who she assumes her family are and actually starts to learn about them all again.
I really enjoyed this book and will be looking out for more Christmas books by Lindsey Kelk to relive, hopefully, these warm happy feelings again!

The Christmas Wish is this years festive novel by Lindsey Kelk and as ever it is full of this authors lough out loud moments that I love and expect each time I pick up one of her books.
Gwen and her cousin Manny are heading back home for their family Christmas but Gwen has had a terrible couple of months since being dumped by her partner so the last thing she needs is the typical family drama. Things only get worse when she finds herself stuck in a time loop reliving Christmas day over and over again.
Gwen was a lovable main character who has had a run of bad luck and as she relieves Christmas each day trying to make changes to try and break the loop she begins to build a better understanding of her family and it just goes to show sometimes we are all to wrapped up in our own lives to see what’s really going on with those around us.
Manny was by far my favourite character, his flamboyant ways and the humour that he brought to this novel meant that I looked forward to his appearance in the book each time. Each of the family members bring something to the storyline and as each Christmas day is relived, we begin to find out more about each of them in turn.
There is a sweet romance or two blossoming which may have been a little predictable, but this didn’t dampen the enjoyment of this novel. There are some festivity sprinkled in with it being set on Christmas day but it isn’t overly festive so can easily be read any time of year.
This is another entertaining witty read by Lindsey Kelk.
