I enjoyed this book so much even when the chapters are lengthy for me. Still, the plot’s structure was paced out perfectly. We can see how Gwen battles through each day, dealing with different scenarios and people, albeit the recurring loop of Christmas. I had many moments where I was laughing at her inner monologue, too. Lindsey’s writing is so fun to read and incredibly cinematic where I can just picture the story so vividly. Recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I loved this book! An absolutely rip roaring read. This had me chuckling, sniffling and in suspense to see how it turned out. This isn’t just a read to keep for Christmas, it’s far too entertaining. Great story line with fantastic, endearing characters! Highly entertaining and highly recommended!
Thank you Netgalley

I feel each book by Lindsey kelk just gets better and better. Really loved this book. A perfect winter read

A brilliant read and one I really enjoyed. The characters are loveable and varied, the plot is one that is engaging and medium paced. I found myself completely drawn into the story and enjoyed the writing style.

Gwen is very contented with her life until she found out that her boyfriend cheated on her and she had to move out of this house and due to her frustration with one of her client, she was asked to take on leave. Gwen love Christmas and unlike before, Gwen doesn’t look forward to it. When Gwen woke up after a disastrous Christmas Day, she found herself relive the day again and again. Through each day, she learnt a lot about herself and her family.
This book is about Groundhog Day adventure filled with family drama. It is a deep and meaningful story about Gwen trying to break the spell and along the way discover the meaning of happiness and what life really is all about. Overall, this is a sweet and read to me that offered wisdom to us as the reader..

Reading a Christmas book in February ain't all bad, especially when the book in question is by Lindsey Kelk. We've dusted off the tinsel, squeezed our turkey and stuffing filled backsides back to the gym and waved goodbye to Xmas for another year. But I adore Christmas - give me an Xmas book or movie at any time of year please! 3.5 weeks in December is just not enough time!
I love Lindsey Kelk, her writing just makes me happy inside. The Christmas Wish was no exception. We follow the Baker family on a 'Groundhog' Christmas - Gwen, whose life recently has just seemed a slog, is back in the arms of her family (we can all relate to the love and quiet dislike!) Keeping the peace, and agreeing to everything that will keep others happy. But this Christmas Gwen needs to do something for herself.
If you want a family Christmas story - well written, funny and a host of great characters then this is for you.
Thank you to NetGalley, Harper Collins/Harper Fiction for the arc

I love Lyndsay Kelk as an author and this book was no exception. Absolutely loved the characters, loved the storyline (once I got past it being a wee bit silly) and overall a perfect Christmas book!

I can’t believe I never read a Lyndsey Kelk book before and am looking forward to making her one of ‘my’ authors (where I read everything and anything they’ve ever written!) This, The Christmas Wish, is about a lady who relives the same awful Christmas Day over and over, learning so much about herself and about her family as she goes. It is so real, vibrant and vivid, , with so much gorgeousness in terms of reminding you about what family and Christmas truly is, while hitting you hard with humour, romance and magic! The reason I hadn’t read her before was I thought the hype couldn’t be true but the comedy was just so up my alley and I was so there!!! Thanks so much to the publisher for the book in return for an honest review.

An enchanting Christmas story, full of fun. Bridget Jones meets Groundhog Day. Thoroughly enjoyed it, fun from start to finish.

Fun, funny, sweet and charming. This is a cute book in the style of Groundhog day....only Gwens Groundhog day is Christmas day! She has to get it right and her many attempts are quite funny. Particularly love her Granny's sharp wit!! Excellent fun, a proper good romcon!

Christmas is stressful. Throw in the forced proximity and tensions will usually boil over as no one knows how to push your buttons like family. But what happens if you have to repeat the day over and over?
Lindsey Kelk employs the stuck-in-a-timeloop storytelling device to great effect in The Christmas Wish, an uplifting Christmas family dramedy about happiness, isolation and learning from your mistakes.
Gwen Baker's life has spiraled. Her boyfriend dumped her for his secretary because she worked too much, and now she's on forced leave from her job. She's been overworked as a lawyer in a magic circle, and cannot bring herself to tell her lawyer father and the rest of the family.
Gwen finds herself stuck repeating the day over and over as she comes to terms with her life, as well as the inner world of her family. To her surprise, each of her family members are struggling with their own situations. In the process of being a better daughter/granddaughter and sister, Gwen is also forced to take stock of her own life decisions, and find out what it truly means to be happy.
All while coming into contact with Dev, her childhood crush who is yet another sweet, caring, supportive Kelk book boyfriend. I love this slow burn second chance romance carefully folded among the main story of Gwen's journey.
This book was a grower for me. Kelk is a gifted writer and bringing on the tension - at first this book made me tense and frustrated with Gwen trying to bite back her tongue as she was being attacked by specific family members, or her lack of honesty about her job. But as we started to get into the time loop, Kelk carefully shows the inner battles of each character that I came to love every member of her family.
Lindsey Kelk really shines at writing the different family dynamics, along with Gwen's personal growth as she learns how to make active life decisions that will make her happy, instead of settling. I really love how she doesn't shy away from the tension of the holidays, but still does so in such an uplifting and joyous way. The Christmas Wish is best read on a comfy couch with Horlicks and a generous dash of Baileys.
Thanks to Netgalley and HarperCollins UK for the ARC. I have bought my own copy.

Gwen is headed home to the countryside to spend the Christmas holidays with her parents. Along with cousin/adoptee brother Manny they make the yearly trip together.
When Gwen wakes up on Christmas morning all is as it should be. Bacon sarnie, present opening, harassed Mum doing the turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Usual Christmas Day activities, however when she wakes up in Boxing Day. It’s Christmas Day AGAIN!!!
In a serious of unfortunate events poor Gwen has to keep reliving Christmas Day over and over like some sort of Groundhog Day. Can she discover the trigger and how to get in to the next day!
This was a lovely Christmassy story, of course set over the course of the Christmas holidays but I do think it could be read at anytime of the year for a nice lough out loud, feel good read.
A great read from Kelk, books of hers I’ve loved since the I heart series…..

If you were a fan of In a Holidaze, I think you’ll love this one. While it didn’t have as much romance as I thought, it was super funny, relevant, and full of antics.

Over the years I have really enjoyed Lindsey Kelk books and was looking forward to this Christmas themed one. Gwen Baker is on her way to her Mum and Dad's house along with her cousin Manny. Her life has gone a little bit pear shaped and she hopes that the Chritsmas break will get her mind into the right place and help her figure things out. At first the chapters ease you in and introduce to her very funny family and I was certainly enjoying it. However when Christmas Day goes terribly wrong it left you wondering what Boxing Day would bring. However when Gwen wakes up she is stuck on a Groundhog day situation and has to relive Christmas Day over and over again.
At first this seemed endearing and quirky, however this soon wore off for me and I found myself getting a little annoyed with it all. The story and writing was as ever brilliant but for me this whole Groundhog day situation just wore a little thin and I found myself wishing I had finished the book. It certainly isn't a bad book, it's just not my cup of tea and I will look forward to the next Lindsey Kelk book I read back in her usual style.

The Christmas Wish by Lindsey Kelk

Blurb
Newly single lawyer Gwen Baker is hoping that a family Christmas—countryside, a mountain of food and festive films—will salve the sting of her career hanging by a thread and her heart being trampled on. Because everyone else has their life sorted: even Dev, her boy-next-door crush, is now a tall, dark and handsome stranger with a fiancée. She can’t help wishing her future was clearer.
Then Gwen wakes up to discover it’s Christmas day all over again. Like Groundhog Day but with eggnog. And family arguments. On repeat.
As she figures out how to escape her own particular Christmas hell, Dev is the one bright spot. He might be all grown-up but underneath he’s just as kind and funny as she remembers.
Maybe, just maybe, her heart can be mended after all.
But how do you fall in love with someone who can’t remember you from one day to the next?
My Opinion
Gwen is stuck with Christmas day repeating, she just needs to figure out how to escape from the time loop. This is a nice heart-warming read as we follow Gwen learning more about her family and more about herself. This is a lovely, festive read.
Rating 4/5

I didn't expect to enjoy this as much as I did - it was well written, engaging and I liked the premise. Would definitely recommend as a lovely festive read.

Thank you netgalley for the arc for the Christmas wish by Lindsay kelk in return for an honest review. I gave me all the Christmas vibes and feels. Great Book

I love Lindsey Kelk but I was really disappointed in this book. It felt very much aimed at late teens/early twenties in terms of the story and characters. I didn't enjoy it in comparison to the 'I Heart' series which will forever be a win!

Thank you to NetGalley for this copy. This is a really good book, kept me entertained throughout and I would thoroughly recommend to all.

Plot: Gwen has recently broken up with her boyfriend, practically lost her job and feels like life is passing her by. She goes to her parents for Christmas hoping this will give her time to sort her life out. After a disasterous Christmas day she goes to bed and wakes up to find its Christmas day again and again and again. Reliving Christmas day over and over again can inly mean one thing, she stuck here until she gets it right.
Review: I really enjoyed this book and the storyline involved. Gwen was a very likeable character with a very big heart. I loved all her family and of course the gorgeous neighbour, Dev. It was a lovely cosy Christmas read and well written with lindsey Kelk's usual humour infused.
