I'm a huge fan of Catherine Cooper, and I think The Cruise may be my favorite yet! From an absolutely killer opening right to the final twist, it kept me guessing, and reading, well into the night.

This is the third book I have read by Catherine and like the others I thoroughly enjoyed it. As soon as I saw this was available to request on Net Galley I was straight there and so excited to start reading.
I would highly recommend all of her books if you want to read a twisty thriller with plenty going on which keeps you guessing!

The Immanis is the next level in luxury cruises, hot tubs on terraces, water parks on deck, a Michelin star chef in a revolving restaurant and the most glamorous aerial dancers popping up all over the place. Nothing has been left to chance, and as she embarks on her first trip to check out how everything works, tensions are high. The story revolves around Lola and Antonio, two of the aerial dancers who have been rehearsing so hard. Lola is a hedonist, squeezing every bit of enjoyment out of life and seeking adventure; her partner Antonio is a bit more safety-conscious, looking out for Lola all the time.
The book opens with a freak accident, and swiftly moves on to reports of a body going overboard, which obviously puts the crew and guests into a state of shock. Other chapters are written from other characters' viewpoints, adding more to the story and building a picture of what's happening on board.
There's also a simultaneous storyline with a teenage girl who wakes up from a coma with no idea of who she is or how she got there; her story emerges throughout the book too.
This was a good page turner and I fell right into the thick of it, keen to find out who was behind the body going overboard and more about the teenage girl. There are plenty of twists in the tale right up until the last page. I'm not sure I ever want to go on a cruise though!
Thanks to @netgalley and @harpercollins for the chance to read it. Im looking forward to Catherine's next book already!

This is a difficult book to review, there was a lot going on, which is not a bad thing, but it all seemed a bit mashed up for me, like 2 completely different stories. Not sure it really worked for me.

This was not the book I was expecting but it was very enjoyable and at times, a gruesome read. I loved the concept and location and I was on the edge of my seat for a lot of it. The characters are very good and play their parts well. This is a lot more complex than I initially thought and I loved it.
Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins UK for an advance copy.

I have really enjoyed the previous 2 books from this author and, being a lover of cruises, I was quick to request this when I saw it on Netgalley.
This was another solid mystery, there were plenty of twists along the way, some I had worked out and others I definitely hadn't. I dont want to give too much away but this was another book that I struggled to put down, lots of back story set from years ago that adds to the mystery, I was certainly intrigued as to the connection from past/present.
My only quibble is the lack of activity on the actual ship/cruise. Most of the part that does occur on board is when the ship is docked with a reduced staffing to clean the ship prior to the next wave (get it?!) of passengers. So I did feel slightly like I'd missed out and found the title misleading, however it didn't detract from a good story.

A fun read.
The Immanis is a luxury cruise ship, catering for rich guests. Lola, a dancer on the ship, goes missing and passengers claim to have seen a figure falling overboard.
After the cruise, the ship is being upgraded and manned by a skeleton crew. When another body is found, the rumour mill goes into overdrive. Is there a killer on board?
Lola and Antonio are the two main characters and are dance partners. I didn’t like either of them very much, but still wanted to find out what was going to happen.
The other characters were very two-dimensional and I would have liked to have learnt more about them, particularly Stuart and Alice.
Although it was a slow read but the twists were good.
Thanks to NetGalley and Harper Collins UK Harper Fiction for giving me an advance copy.

A New Year’s Eve party on a glamorous ship goes wrong when one of the dancers, Lola, goes missing. What could have happened to her and when other things start to happen what could it mean.
This was a really engaging read and I loved it. Twists galore! Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for this arc in exchange for my honest review

Thoroughly enjoyed this ship-based thriller. This is my first Catherine Cooper book but it will not be my last.

This book was brilliant, however I much preferred the second half of it in comparison to the first. I struggled in the first half with the amount of characters and the splitting between two different time frames. That said, this book unfolded what can only be described as masterpiece. There were so many twists and turns that I couldn't put it down.
For me Catherine Cooper writes such brilliant books. I've loved every single book I've read. She writes books that draw you in and very slowly you become obsessed with the story.
If you've not read anything by Catherine before, please bump any one of them up your TBR, you really won't be disappointed.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you to NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book.
The Heracles is the cruise ship which is sailing in The Caribbean and people start to go missing. But they aren’t linked, they’re just coincidences, aren’t they?
We read this story from many points of view and different timelines so we can read about why current events are happening. The chapters were short, but informative in getting clearer about what exactly was going on. The writing was great, and the story was cleverly thought out, with every question answered and everything tied neatly at the end. The characters were all well written, and characters that I liked at first I then disliked. But that was the aim of the story. Another great read from this author.

I really really enjoyed this story. More so the part on the cruise ship. It was exciting and reminiscent of an Agatha Christie book. Brilliant. Highly recommended xx

I've loved all of Catherine's books so far and this one didn't disappoint. I was thrilled to be approved to read and review The Cruise as I'd been counting down the days for it's release! Many thanks to the publishers for granting this.
The Cruise is twisty, gripping and full of suspense. The mysterious disappearance of the ship's dancer, Lola, is just the start and as the plot starts to unravel, the body count is in danger of rising.
I enjoyed the dual time-line and flashbacks as this added to the building tension and atmosphere. The characters were brilliantly developed and everything came together nicely at the end.
I can't wait to read more of Catherine's work!

Having previously read the chalet by Catherine Cooper i really enjoyed the cruise. I found the duel timelines to add a different dynamic and interesting storyline to the book and i enjoyed the interconnection between the two near the end. I also enjoyed the dynamics behind the day to day running of a cruise liner and how the staff interacted with each other during the busy times and also during the lay offs when they are out at sea without paying customers to cater for. I was interested to find out the motivation and reasoning behind Lunas death and also the reason for the other events that occurred. I would really recommend this book and i dont want to ruin this post with spoilers but if your into mystery and trillers of a non gruesome nature def check this book out.

I have read this author’s other novels and really enjoyed them, so I was very excited to receive an advance copy of her new novel. Thanks to Harper Collins UK and NetGalley for this.

The story is told from the perspectives of various characters, at different times and different locations.
Initially, the story is focused on the ship, and then it seems to become a totally different story, told from the eyes of a young, vulnerable girl living on a remote farmhouse in northern Scotland.
For me, the two perspectives were extremely disjointed. Although it makes sense eventually, it didn’t work for me and took away from the flow of the story a bit.
A couple of parts were quite predictable which was disappointing. The plot was too convenient and far-fetched for me and it wasn’t as tightly plotted as the author’s other novels. I found it lacked depth.
The ending was way too convenient and rather anti-climactic.
Some elements of the cruise ship are described well, but I thought the setting was almost forgotten. The ship was meant to be in The Caribbean but this wasn’t described much at all.
Unfortunately, this book was too far-fetched and lacking in depth for me.
Despite this, I still wanted to find out what was going to happen and it was a quick, easy read and offered some escapism.
I’m not put off reading more by this author, and definitely recommend her other novels.

The Cruise by @catherinecooperjournalist is a 5 star 🌟 book
On new years eve on a luxury cruise ship a dancer called Lola goes missing with fears she has gone overboard people start to panic, but Lola isn't the only one that goes missing because on this luxurious cruise ship things are about to take a tragic deadly turn.
Oh I loved this book from the beginning, I loved The story and the characters, I was really interested in the mystery surrounding the character of Laura I wanted to know how she fit in with everything else and I was really shocked and couldn't believe how everything came together until the deadly conclusion it was brilliant.
I thought Laura was suffering from Stockholm Syndrome it was quite unsettling the relationship between her and her "dad" the fact that he would only let her watch movies in black and white nothing in the present I found their seclusion from the world creepy and that's why The Cruise is a fantastic thriller it ticks all the boxes it has plenty of twists and turns this is a book that will be a big hit.. and one I strongly recommend.

The story started well. A missing woman from a cruise ship but the narrative was a bit farfetched. I found the dual timeline confusing. A decent holiday read but not for me.

Having read Catherine Coopers last two books I couldn’t wait to read this. Started brilliantly. Then it seemed to cut to a completely different storyline. I started to wonder if the pages had been mixed up. The story was of a girl who lived in Scotland with her protective father.
It’s only as the story moves along that you begin to understand the significance of the two storylines. To me this was not my favourite book by the author but an enjoyable read. Especially with the twist at the end.
Many thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to see an ARC.

More twists and turns than a rolloercoaster.
Another fantastic twisty read from Catherine Cooper.
I loved the multiple timeline, full and indepth backstory of one or two of the characters.
I just loved when it all finally came together and you could see the puzzle pieces coming together nicely.
Weirdly, I have total sympathy for Lola, what a ridiculous crazy life she had and how she took control of the truth
Fantastic book, full of anything and everything!

An utterly amazing thriller set on a luxury cruise ship and giving the readers an opportunity to take a glimpse of what lies behind the shiny veneer of the rich.
