Wonderful to be back in Port Karadow surrounded by books! I love this series and this book is as romantic, warm and charming as its predecessors. Lovely to catch up with familiar characters and to meet some new ones. Filled to the brim with charm. This read isn’t just for Christmas.
Thank you Netgalley

A perfect bit of escapism for fans of bookshops, Christmas and cosy nights in and can be read independently of any of the other books in the series. A great big hug in a book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A wonderfully, lighthearted read.
I loved the characters, and especially loved the fact that the story as set in a bookshop! I really wouldn't mind a visit to A New Chapter! Such a quaint indie bookshop!
I wouldn't mind meeting Max, Ollie and the rest of the characters either!
Thank you to Cressida McLaughlin, NetGalley and publishers HarperCollins UK, HarperFiction and Harper Collins for the chance to read this book.

Another good book by Cressida.
It was nice returning to Cornwall back to a place you know with characters you have met before. Meeting new characters and seeing how their lives all come together.
A very nice book with all the twists and turns you would expect from Cressida.

I loved this book, the 7th in the series from Cressida McLaughlin. Perfect with a cup of tea and a blanket on a winter night!

Oh what can I say about The Cornish Cream Tea Bookshop by Cressida McLaughlin…… I just know I am in for a treat when I read a book by Cressida. As usual read in one sitting I could not put it down. Another fab book in the series although you could read it as a stand alone book. Hurry up with the next book I am waiting not so patiently.

This is a book well into a series with established characters in a place with several happily-ever-afters already completed before this story starts. I read somewhere that this was not a problem(which is why I chose to read this book in the first place!), and to some extent, I agree. The central protagonist here is a new individual in the town, and she has her own trials to face and plans to implement. Everyone around her, the already paired-up people - were new to me, and I thought I would have benefitted by having met them before.
Ollie Spencer has a backstory that is quite unique. The reason she ends up in her new job and the things she sets in motion feel unique.
A two-part suspense angle features in the background, and I guessed half of it. If I had not, I might have enjoyed this book even further.
This is a very typical book for this genre, with a well-rounded cast, an interesting profession with some in-depth look at what that job entails on a daily basis, and a romantic angle with some hurdles along the way.
It is a well-written narrative, and I can see why there are so many fans of this series. I did not have a chance to read the earlier works, and if I get the chance in the future, I will definitely give them a shot.
I would recommend this series to fans of the genre and this book to people already familiar with the other people in the close-knit town. For people like me - I suggest starting from at least a few books earlier.
I received an ARC thanks to NetGalley and the publishers but the review is entirely based on my own reading experience.

A lovely festive romantic Christmas read. An easy lighthearted read but didn't have a whoa factor for me I'm afraid. I did love the bookshop/Cornwall setting though.

I think I could copy/paste previous reviews I’ve written from the Cornish Tea series, I’ve run out of words! Cressida has knocked this one out of the park: again! Who doesn’t want to read about books and bookshops? Ollie Spencer moves to Port Karadow to work in the bookshop our previous heroine has opened. Her enthusiasm and earnestness towards building her new life are relatable. This book was another swoony, slow-burn delight.

Thank you Netgalley and Harpercollins for letting me review the Cornish cream tea book shop. this is book 7 in the series and I can't wait for more cosy reads by Cressida McLaughlin

A Cosy Christmas read at the Cornish Cream Tea Bookshop.
Ollie Moves down from London to arrive in Port Karadow, She starts a new Job in A New Chapter but is given a frosty reception, The story follows her journey of fitting in along a suprise Romance along the way.
Cressida's Book never fail to capture and draw you in. I really hope we can revisit and follow the romance and the journey of a new chapter.
thank you net galley for the advance copy of this wonderful story.

This book was read as part of my Christmas readathon and was a good, solid read. Ollie Spencer is lucky enough to be able to relocate to Cornwall and work at an independent book shop (so far, she has my dreamed for life)! There is the usual love interest and, as is always the case, the path isn’t smooth and easy, but the romance was written in a pleasant way (the slow build, rather than Cupid’s arrow), there is a good, well-rounded cast of characters and I found this to be an enjoyable read.
This is one of a series of books set in the town, but it is the first I have read and it comfortably fits as a stand alone novel.
Thank you to the publisher and to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

An easy, cozy, Christmas read but sadly not really for me. The characters didn’t seem to have much about them and Ollie was really quite irritating. The bookshop setting was a nice idea and the Cornish setting did save the day.

The Cornish Cream Tea Bookshop is the seventh book in Cressida McLaughlin's Cornish Cream Tea series but can be read and enjoyed as a standalone novel which is true in my case.
The main protagonist is Ollie Spencer who, after an accident gets a compensation payout and decides to up sticks from London and move to the picturesque fictional town of Port Karadow in Cornwall.
Her barn conversion sounds absolutely gorgeous.
She’s on a mission to find a new bookshop, write up Liam’s life memoirs and start a fresh chapter for herself.
She gets a new job in the independent bookshop A New Chapter but wants to make impress her new boss perhaps a bit too much and ends up roughing the feathers of their other colleague.
The book begins just before Halloween and follows Ollie on her bookish adventures in the run up to, and including, the festive season, with a literary mystery to unravel too.
Ollie throws herself into the job, soon coming to the attention of the wonderful, sexy Max who owns to local coffee shop and the chemistry crackles between the pair.
The novel is filled with festive cheer making it a perfect Christmas gift for your bookish friends.
I loved following Ollie and Max’s adventures of the local ghostly legends as well as her ideas to improve foot flow at the book shop.
I felt like I’d been transported to Cornwall and this was the perfect cosy read in the run up to Christmas.

The perfect book for by the fire in the weeks before Christmas
This book is twinkly and lovely and great fun.
Ollie is leaving a terrible experience in London and Cornwall is just the place to find peace.
But she is a bit too London until she realises that she has a lot to offer.
Dreamy setting, romantic story.

Another great read from McLaughlin and I can’t believe I have finally caught up with all the books in this series. Admittedly, this instalment was one of my favourite because it features so many fantastic elements: seaside, bookshop, Christmas and hot chocolate. It was a book of dreams and another well-written story.
Despite being so far into the series, this book can easily be read on its own. In my previous reviews, I have argued that it would be nice for older characters to have a more substantial role in the plot; once again, they feature only marginally but I did enjoy meeting new residents of Port Karadow. This time, it is Ollie who has moved to the area and starts working in A New Chapter, a bookshop that readers saw being established in the previous novel. Undoubtedly, Ollie’s enthusiasm is infectious and I loved how vibrant her attitude is throughout the book. However, this does not always make things easy for Ollie: her enthusiastic plans do not always go as intended and she finds resistance towards her attitude along the way.
This is one of the elements that makes McLaughlin’s books so enjoyable: the characters are vivid and realistic. Nothing is picture-perfect and the characters demonstrate a weakness or vulnerability. It makes them so relatable, even if they do live in such an idyllic location! Ollie’s determination at helping the bookshop succeed is based on her own demons that haunt her from her accident. It drives her forwards but can also be a hindrance as well. Ollie surprises herself when she gets things right and this is also with her growing friendship with Max.
Max is portrayed as such an adorable character and I felt really invested in this love interest. Whilst residents may criticise the two characters for moving too quickly, I thought their relationship was long overdue. I loved seeing how happy Ollie and Max made one another; the support they provide is so valuable and it really allowed Ollie to start believing in herself again.
Not only does this book feature a bookshop and Ollie’s enthusiasm, but McLaughlin also details local myths and legends, adding an element of mystery to the story. I liked this theme of the book because it increased the festive magic of the plot. As Ollie goes ‘myth hunting’, I enjoyed being a part of her discoveries and the atmosphere generated as she learns more about the local stories. Furthermore, when the mysteries intensify into something bigger, I was really keen to see how Ollie would turn this to be an advantage to the bookshop she clearly loves.
This was another lovely read from the series and I wonder if further books will remain just as different? I have missed not seeing the Cream Tea bus, but have appreciated how vastly different each story has become. In this case, it is the perfect Christmas read and one that will have you feeling full of tinsel from head to toe.
With thanks to Harper Collins and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

What is not to love about Cressidas latest addition to her fabulous series of books. Christmas, love and a bookshop....a winning combination.
Ollie has left the city behind and moves to Port Karadow. Not only is she writing memoirs on behalf of her friends father, but also has a job in a slightly failing bookshop. Desperate to get the bookshop up and successfully running, nit everybody is pleased to have her on board.
Certainly not on the lookout for love, Ollie is drawn to Max who runs the local coffee shop and is eager to befriend and help her.
Ups and downs along the way but this book gives you a big warm hug....highly recommend.

A fairly good read, with the story being Ollie who moves from London to Cornwall to work in a book shop.
I enjoyed most of this book but felt it was trying to push too many different storylines.
I did enjoy the elements of the Cornish myths and legends, but other than that, the rest of the book didn’t really excite me.

Thanks to netgalley for the chance to read this book.
Olli Spencer moved to Port Karadow and starts a new job in the local bookshop - A New Chapter. Olli wants to put the bookshop on the map and is ramping up the Christmas glitter and attempting to put the bookshop on the map. Things start to go wrong for Olli and she turns to local cafe owner Max for help. Can she turn things around and put the sparkle back into their dream of living in the Cornwall village.

I thoroughly enjoyed this cosy Christmas book, which is set in Cornwall, by the sea. I loved the setting and the descriptions of all the scenery, as well as the beautiful characters and the Christmas vibe. The cover of the book is outstanding also, and it really drew me in.
The main characters of the book are Ollie and Max, and the story centred around their friendship and chemistry. I loved the fact that there was a bookshop in the story too! Ollie has moved from London to Cornwall to work in the bookshop after having an accident and splitting up with her boyfriend. Max owns a cafe, and Ollie is always popping in and out of there so that she can see him. I loved their interactions together and their playfulness together. They were both so sweet.
I also enjoyed the little mystery about some books that Ollie finds.
This is a great book, which I highly recommend, and I look forward to reading more of Cressida's books in the future.
Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book.
