I really enjoyed this book. I loved reading about Ollie and her move to Cornwall and the start of a new chapter in her life. How daunting must that have been for her. However she certainly made her mark on the bookshop she was working at. A real force of nature and an ideas person she brought more and more people to the bookshop. A few challenges along the way but she kept going and flourished. The story about Ollie and Max was both heartwarming and heartbreaking in equal measure, The christmas party at the barn was really heartwarming. A real page turner.

This was another delightful Cornish based story with the magic of Christmas as a bonus. A set of appealing characters with a strong community setting. A very feel good story

If you need a light hearted easy to read book then this is perfect! I read it whilst on holiday and it was the perfect beach/pool read. Sometimes you need to have a book or two that you can mindlessly read without needing too much concentration!

This is a perfect, feel-good, cosy up with the fire and Christmas tree lit behind you kind of book. Perfect Christmas read, simple and easy! This is a first for me by the author and one I enjoyed and would read more of their work. The book cover is eye-catching and appealing and would spark my interest if in a bookshop. Thank you very much to the author, publisher and Netgalley for this ARC.

A cute little novel for this time of year for the book lovers out there. A good mixture of characters and themes. A nice ending and an all round cosy feel

The Cornish cream tea bookshop is a warm comforting hug of a book!
So lovely to be back in Port Karadow with new and familiar faces amongst that glorious setting!
Loved the development of Ollie and Max’s relationship, the whole bookshop vibe was great and to be reacquainted with Thea and the progress she had made professionally and personally,
Liam was a fantastic addition such a lovable, interesting character.
The book flowed beautifully and kept me interested from start to finish a real heartwarming, cosy, entertaining book that I would highly recommend
Thank you netgalley for this early read..

I always look forward to a return visit to Port Karadow, the wonderful coastal town has a special charm and community feel that always provides a heartwarming tale of escapism. This book focuses on the Bookshop that Thea founded in the old post office in the story of The Cornish Cream Tea Holiday published earlier this year - the beauty of these books is although it is wonderful to read all of the intertwining stories in the series, you can absolutely read each one standalone as everything you need to catch up with is provided.
Ollie has arrived new in town to work in the Bookshop and help her best friend's grandfather who is writing his memoirs. She is soon charmed by the town as well as a certain cafe owner and her enthusiasm for seeking adventure is catching. I absolutely love these stories, they never put a foot wrong and this one especially appeals to all the bookworms who love a good bookshop

Another brilliant book from Cressida McLaughlin; I loved it from start to finish. When Ollie leaves her London job, home and ex boyfriend to start anew in Cornwall there were bound to be a few bumps along the way. ( I’ve come across a few Beckys - people who just don’t seem to like you for no apparent reason). The descriptions of the Cornish scenery are beautiful, and those about food made me want to get up and bake. I would love to have a bookshop like A New Chapter near me! Can’t wait for next year’s Christmas novel!

I love this heartwarming series - you know you will enjoy the characters, the setting is wonderful, there is bound to be a love story and it includes Christmas - a sure fire winner!
Ollie Spencer has started a new life in Port Karadow working in the New Chapter - the town’s newly opened bookshop. She comes brimming with new ideas and enthusiasm to work her magic. Not everything works smoothly but Ollie comes to appreciate the town, it’s inhabitants and one in particular - Max.
It was lovely to meet familiar characters like Thea again but also to meet new ones.
A lovely story.

I could not put this book down, it drew me in from the first page. The story is lovely and has a great twist which I was not expecting. Such a lovey plot about rebuilding your life when tragedy strikes. I have already recommended this book to friends and book club!!

Cressida McLaughlin is back again with every bookworms favourite ingredients in a festive novel, sparkling festivity, books new beginnings are a simmering romance all set in a Cornish bookshop!
We have a new character in Port Karadow ready to start a new chapter in her life and Ollie is going to fit right in because she has a strong passion for books and a bucket load of enthusiasm which she is determined to use to help Thea with the new bookshop at The Old Post House. As much as Ollie is wanting to prove herself hurdles keep appearing but can the help of the handsome Max keep her spirits up and help her to put down roots in Port Karadow.
I loved meeting Ollie especially because she was a character who I could relate to, and I could easily see as a friend. Life isn't perfect for her and she hasn't had it easy but her determination shines through, and she keeps battling on without feeling sorry for herself.
We are reunited with past characters from previous Cornish Cream Tea series with Thea who we met in the last book featuring heavy which I am thrilled about as I felt like her story still had more to give so it was exciting to see what she had already done with the renovations, and I was looking forward to Ollie being able to help Thea's dreams flourish.
There is a meaningful romance that blossoms and I was routing for Max and Ollie the whole way through as they both have pure hearts of gold and have both had a big health related knock that have changed the path of their lives.
There is a touch of festivities and traditions as well as legends and mysteries that are sprinkled through the storyline. My favourite parts of the book though was watching Ollies mind pouring out with various ideas for book themed events that help the bookshop, authors and also the community to come together.
This was another praiseworthy novel that was the perfect winter warmer to curl up with this Christmas, Cressida McLaughlin has touched us once again with her beautiful writing and idyllic setting with characters who feel like firm friends.

I dropped everything to read this book as I love this series! This is book #7 in the Cornish Cream Tea series, but it can be read as a standalone book if you haven’t read the other books in the series. We are back in the little Cornish seaside town of Port Karadow. Ollie Spencer has moved here from London and has got herself a job working in the town’s bookshop, A New Chapter. Can Ollie make this her new chapter as well?
This was a truly delightful read, and it was lovely to be back in Port Karadow. I remember Thea from the previous book, so it was lovely to see her again. The book shop has certainly come on from that book and it sounds absolutely amazing! As I read, I could picture what it was like, and I’d certainly give up my job in a library to own and work in a shop like that! Ollie was a lovely character, and I really took to her right from the beginning. I did think however that she was a little bit impulsive with organising the events in the bookshop, jumping in with both feet before stopping to think whether her ideas would work! Whilst some didn’t work out, she did come up with some great ways to bring customers into Leah’s shop and I wished I could have been there for them!
The book flowed along at a lovely pace. The storyline travelled through Halloween and Christmas, and this was perfect for this time of year. The other characters were a welcome addition – I really liked Liam and Max was wonderful! There were new characters, but there were also plenty of characters from previous books and it was lovely to reconnect with them all. As with the rest of the series, this book was that little bit of escapism from an otherwise hectic life, and it was a read filled with love and friendships! Heart-warming, fun and book themed…what more could I ask for!! Would recommend!

The Cornish Cream Tea Bookshop is a nice story with it's lead trying to and mostly managing to make the bookshop a success. A bookshop at the centre of a story is always a winner.

This is book 7 in the Cornish cream tea series but can be read as a standalone. I loved how the is book took us back to the beautiful setting of port karadow and also introduced us to new characters Ollie and max in the series and was also excited to see that this instalment also featured the setting of a bookshop. I would love to be able to work in the delightful new chapter bookshop alongside Ollie and her colleagues.
This as with all this authors books was a delight to read and like being wrapped in a warm hug and was perfect escapism with a sprinkling of community spirit, friendship and romance and Christmas magic on the side.
I am already looking forward to the next instalment in this series

Ohhh I’m so happy to be back in Port Karadow. A comforting retreat into the stunning surrounds of Cornwall and a host of new characters to fall in love with. I quickly warmed to Ollie’s character and I was invested from the get go.
Opening this book was like wrapping yourself in the warmest and cosiest of blankets, hands wrapped around a steaming mug of joy and loosing yourself in love and drama for a few hours. It was the most perfect escape from the world for a bit and I absolutely adored it.
Loved the plot. Loved the story. Liam is adorable. Max was perfect. And I also have to agree with Ollie and say Northanger Abbey is such an underrated Austen and wholeheartedly approve of the name of her adorable chocolate lab!
The development between Max and Ollie was a pure joy to read and the setting in the bookshop made for really enjoyable reading. I was so behind Ollie and her new job in the bookshop with Thea and Becky and I loved the plotting and planning that went on in bringing custom and events to the shop. I’m so sad to have finished it! More books in this series forever and onwards please?!
I’ll leave with a quote from the book that really stuck with me. “Once you’ve let it into your heart, even a little bit, you’re left stuck loving it forever” which just sums up my love for all of Cressida’s books and the Cream Tea Cafe series. I could read and reread them forever and I endeavour to have ALL of her books on my shelf one day.

After a tough time, Ollie finds herself able to relocate to Cornwall, find a new job and a new community. She throws herself into her work at the local book shop, 'A New Chapter' and soon finds herself fully part of the community too...but can Ollie win the locals over for good?
A lovely story, many of the characters from McLaughlin 's other tales feature (Which I quite like!) And it's an easy read. The characters are likeable, the setting idyllic and the plot, whilst easy to follow, has enough turns to keep you engaged. If you like McLaughlin's other books, you won't be disappointed.

Thank you for the opportunity to read and review. I love this series and this is an excellent addition to it.
Great characters, a love of all things book and Cornish.
Happy to recommend.

Cressida has done it again, I absolutely adore this series. Never fails to warm my heart and make me smile, I devoured it!

This book grew and grew on me. The setting as usual perfect. Lovely meeting old characters. I think I worked out the secret early on but no spoilers but it did not matter.. You just sink into reading a Cressida book and you are in heaven. Loved the bookshop. Excellent ending. Marion was a fab character . So much I want to say but can’t . Just read it . Fab

Fantastic latest instalment in the Cornish town of port karadow. This time featuring a bookshop, introducing new characters to get to know and some old favourites popping up to.
Great cost read and highly recommended
