Really enjoyed this book.
Time to board the flight to St Lucia and follow 4 people who all have a variety of challenges in their lives.
Will this trip help them ?
This was such a charming read. I loved the characters. They are all realistic and likeable. I liked their backstories. There are twists and turns. Not my usual genre but I did enjoy it
Loved everything about this. Unique setting being on the plane, fabulous characters & just such a nice feel good book I flew through. Just perfect.
"One Last Day of Summer" by Shari Low is a heartwarming and captivating novel that takes readers on a journey of self-discovery, love, and second chances. The story unfolds as a flight to St Lucia brings together four passengers with diverse backgrounds and compelling life stories.
Bernadette Manson, having recently escaped her controlling husband, embarks on an extravagant holiday, only to face the challenge of flying solo when her best friend cancels. Low skillfully portrays Bernadette's strength and vulnerability, making her a relatable and empowering protagonist.
Tadgh Donovan, on the verge of his destination wedding, is hit with a shocking revelation through a text. The uncertainty surrounding his bride-to-be's commitment adds a layer of suspense to the narrative, keeping readers engaged and curious about the outcome.
Hayley Ford, the wife of a fertility specialist, grapples with the strain of infertility on her marriage. The sun-soaked trip becomes a pivotal moment for her relationship, and Low delicately explores the emotional complexities of love, loss, and healing.
Dev Robbins, on a mission to find the woman he fell in love with at first sight, adds a touch of romance and adventure to the narrative. The question of whether it will be a one-way journey to happiness or a return to singledom adds an element of anticipation to the overall plot.
Shari Low excels in crafting well-developed characters with distinct voices, making each passenger's story compelling and emotionally resonant. The intertwining narratives create a rich tapestry of human experiences, blending humor, heartache, and hope seamlessly.
The novel's setting in St Lucia provides a picturesque backdrop for the characters' journeys, enhancing the escapism and charm of the story. Low's writing is engaging, with a perfect balance of humor and emotional depth, making it an enjoyable read.
While the premise may seem like a typical romantic escapade, "One Last Day of Summer" surprises with its nuanced exploration of themes such as independence, resilience, and the complexities of relationships. The unexpected twists and turns keep the plot dynamic and the reader invested until the last page.
In conclusion, Shari Low's "One Last Day of Summer" is a delightful and heartening read, earning its four-star rating through a well-crafted narrative, relatable characters, and a perfect blend of romance and emotional depth. It's a story that resonates long after the final chapter, leaving readers with a warm and uplifting feeling.
I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide me review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.
Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.
However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x
There is truly nothing Shari Low cannot do! Another truly lovely intertwining story that is incredibly engaging. Seeing Bernadette Mansons story continue from the last novel was fantastic and as always Shari weaves in a glorious new set of characters. As always, this is a must read for all Shari Low fans

This is the first book I've read by Shari Low, but it won't be the last.
The story had me hooked from the very first page!
Four strangers, unlucky or unhappy in love, find themselves unexpectedly sitting all together in a row on a nine-hour flight to St Lucia. Over the course of one day they share their lives, their hopes, and their fears, and by the end of the day, everything has changed. 10 out of 10.
Another Shari Low book that I absolutely loved.
Filled with all the emotion, I steamed through.
Definitely one to read now that the weather is starting to warm up. Summer romance time.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book. I have chosen to write this honest review voluntarily and it reflects my personal opinion.
We meet the 4 main characters in this book a the beginning of the novel as they prepare to leave for a flight to St Lucia. They are different ages and backgrounds with experiences that have brought them to this day. Then ... I loved Shari's idea of the 'bubble' as the characters isolate themselves within the aeroplane, and share secrets with each other. Friendships grow as emotions are close to the surface, and the stories revealed are different, credible and interesting. While I wish the bad language had been left out completely it is fairly infrequent and reflects current common usage in a fast-paced narrative style split into 2-hour blocks across the flight.
I really enjoyed this book with the overlying emphasis on romance and friendship it is a perfect beach read: interesting, believable and a happy ending!
Full review to come on Goodreads and Amazon. Thank you to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for a review copy.

Tadgh Donovan is about to jet off to his destination wedding when he sees a shocking text. Has his bride-to-be written her wedding vows… or already broken them?

Dev Robbins is crossing oceans to track down the woman he fell in love with at first sight. Will it be a one way trip to happy ever after or a return journey to singledom?
I liked the concept of this story. So much action packed into a day. I'm also happy they did a chapter two weeks later to see how most everything turned out. I think my favorite was Bernadette because she was closest to my age.
Great characters, easy to read, loved the location of where it was set.
Thank you NetGalley for my complimentary copy in return for my honest review.
I’ve really enjoyed reading this book. I loved all four of the main characters and enjoyed reading their backstories. I thought they were all very relatable and entertaining in their own ways. I felt more empathy for Hayley in particular, her story was more relatable to me and there were certain things that we had in common. I loved the multiple points of view and I liked that there was a wide range of ages and diversity between the main characters. I liked that the majority of the book was set over the course of the flight. Overall I thought this was an enjoyable easy feel-good summer read. This is the first book that I’ve read by this author and it definitely won’t be the last.

This book was absolutely perfect. It was light, it was easy and it was written beautifully. It’s the first book in a while that I have loved all the main characters. I rooted for every single one of them and became heavily invested in their stories and their journey’s. Was it all a bit too easy……yes, did I love it anyway………..also yes! It covered some sensitive topics and for me incredibly well. Would i recommend it……..absolutely! I now want to read all of this authors work. A fabulous read.
Fabulous book! I love the way Shari Low often sets books in a short time period. I also love the strong female characters.
This story is centered around a flight to St Lucia and a bunch of unlikely row mates.
Good read. Great characters, enjoyed the setting, lots of side stories weaved into it and it flowed really well. A good read for a rubbish day. Will make you feel better!
Rating: 4.5 Stars
Cancel your plans and forget about getting any work done because there is a new Shari Low book and, as always, it’s absolutely fantastic!
In One Last Day of Summer, four passengers meet for the first time on a flight to St Lucia for a life-changing holiday that is going to turn their entire world upside down. Bernadette Mason has finally done it! She has escaped her abusive ex and is about to embark on a brand-new life where she can do what she pleases – starting with an extravagant holiday to St Lucia. Bernadette cannot wait to hit the beach and have the vacation of a lifetime – until her best friend cancels! Will Bernadette have the courage to fly solo? Or will she end up losing out on the holiday she has been dreaming of? Meanwhile, Tadgh Donovan is so excited – he is about to head to his destination wedding to marry his soulmate. But will a last minute text end up putting paid to all of his hopes and dreams for the future?
Hayley Ford would love nothing more than to have a baby of her own – which is ironic because her partner is a top fertility specialist. Her struggle to conceive almost cost her her marriage, but will this holiday to St Lucia heal their relationship? Or has the time come to call it quits? Dev Robbins doesn’t share Hayley’s trepidation – if anything he cannot wait to get to St Lucia to meet the woman he has fallen head over heels in love with. Dev has left his life behind to be with the woman he loves, but will this be the start of a fairy tale relationship? Or the beginning of a total nightmare?
Will these four strangers find what they are looking for in St Lucia? Or will this trip be a holiday which they will always remember – but for all the wrong reasons…
Shari Low never disappoints and One Last Day of Summer is an involving, emotional, witty and fabulous read that is hard to put down. One Last Day of Summer is a book that will have readers laughing and crying – often on the same page – and it is so engrossing and emotional that it is a wrench to say goodbye to all the lovely characters that people this book once you reach its conclusion.
Feel-good, uplifting, heart-wrenching yet life-affirming, One Last Day of Summer is another triumph for Shari Low.
So good!
Four strangers share a flight from London to St. Lucia, and as they get to know each other, secrets and scandals and truths emerge. All of the characters are well-written and relatable-you feel like you are flying along with them on the trip, and the ending is perfectly sweet.
This is the perfect book to read while poolside on vacation, or in bed dreaming of your next trip.
I received this book free from NetGalley in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.
