I really enjoyed this read, even though @ the beginnings I had a to keep checking back on the characters! It was well written and the ending was something I wasn’t expecting! Perfect beach read.
I love this authors books and was looking forward to reading this one and it didn’t disappoint. Once I had started reading it I couldn’t put it down and read it in almost one sitting. This was a heartwarming and heartbreaking read and as usual this author gets to the heart of the human condition with real and relatable problems and covers them in a very sensitive way. This book delved into the hidden lives of four brilliant characters and how they all ended up sitting next to each other on the same flight to St Lucia and as the flight progressed their stories unravelled and they provided comfort and support to each other and made some amazing friendships and live changing decisions along the way.
This is the perfect holiday read. Can’t wait for this authors next book.
First of all, many thanks to Obsidian for making me aware of this author with her review of "What If?". Secondly, I'm very grateful to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for sending me this ARC to review in exchange for my honest review.
What an enjoyable read! I actually stayed up way too late reading this story last night as I couldn't wait to find out what happens.
It's an interesting plot. Basically, it's about 5 strangers sitting next to each other on a flight from London to St. Lucia. It's their backstory and what happens to them on the flight as they get to know each other. Surprisingly, this quirky plot works really well!
I loved the main characters, the snarky dialogue, the love stories, the obnoxious baddies, and the fairytale HEA.
I'm looking forward to reading more stories by this author.
I really enjoyed this cute, light read. Great plot with lovely characters. Highly recommend! A fun beach read!
If I ever actually read on the beach or poolside this would be a great choice. A contemporary romcom mainly set on a plane trip to tropical Saint Lucia in which four strangers get to know each other. Bernadette is a 54 year old divorcée, reclaiming her life after a long marriage to a controlling, emotionally abusive man. Tadgh (pronounced Tige) is an Irish rockstar headed to St Lucia to marry his childhood sweetheart. Just before boarding he finds a text message which has him second-guessing his whole life. Is Cheryl having an affair with his brother and fellow band member? Dev is a sports writer who wants to write a romance and is dashing off to St Lucia to provide himself some material. He is going to find a woman he recently met in a bar and slept with, who just may be the love of his life, meanwhile messaging long-term best friend Lizzie of his progress. Hayley Ford is a drama and dance teacher married to an eminent fertility specialist who used to be the love of her life but seems to be morphing into a controlling narcissist.
This is a feel good found-family story with the four of them becoming involved in each other’s stories. I would love to hear an audiobook version with all the accents, and someone should definitely make this into a movie. A happy humorous book, that all ends neatly (possibly slightly overly so). The adorable Bernadette was my favourite. A warm, fuzzy 4.5 stars for me.
I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this book, it was cute, light, and airy. It was a perfect summer read! I loved the characters.
I really liked this story. I had a little trouble in the beginning keeping everyone straight, but it came together soon enough. (Of course I had accidentally skipped “When Worlds Collide” in the very beginning.. My fault…). Interesting way how all of the main characters come together. If you enjoy the story of new friendships and relationships this would be a good choice for you!
This was a lovely, summer read - exploring the lives of four strangers as their lives intertwine when they sit next to eachother on the flight to St Lucia. The wife of a famous infertility doctor, who upgraded to business class without her without so much as a hesitation, an older Woman, forced to take this trip alone at the last minute, a man on the way to the wedding of dreams to his childhood sweetheart (but he’s just read a strange text on his brothers phone) and an aspiring writer, on the flight to hunt down the woman he is convinced is the love of his life.
Though not exactly action filled, the author did such a phenomenal job of carving out each character with such clarity it felt as though I knew each one personally. Seeing them act as each other’s confidantes and forming a real bond across the space of a long haul flight was heartwarming, there were lessons to be learned on love and the kindness of strangers.
Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC xo
I have to confess that I love Shari Low’s books and this is no exception! It was also fun to be introduced to some new characters all of whom you were rooting for.
Wow, this is easily one of the best books I have read so far in 2022! I absolutely loved it and read it in 2 sittings.
Quirky and completely original, it kept me hooked from the start. I loved the characters, the plot and the writing style. A perfect summer read. Highly recommended!
A perfect beach read, I was engrossed in the story line and read it in one sitting.
4 people on a plane heading to St Lucia, Bernadette finally out of an abusive marriage rediscovers herself, Dev, flying to meet with a one night stand who he believes is the love of his life, Hayley, on holiday with her husband after months of fertility treatment and Tadgh, flying out to get married to his childhood sweetheart.
All lovely characters that you could imagine being friends with forever.
Rom coms are not my usual go to for books but I definitely make an exception for Shari Low books. She is such a talented writer that can have me laughing one minute then in tears the next.
I received this copy from Netgalley and Boldwood books and am under no obligation to leave my honest review
LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this book....so much so that I read it in a day.
Clearly written and funny, it follows the story of 4 passengers meeting on a plane to St Lucia. Each one comes with their own story and baggage and their stories soon become intertwined.
A fantastic book written with humour. A great summer read.
Highly recommended !!!!!
