I have loved all of Louise's books and this one didn't disappoint.
It wasn't the usual chick lit book - it had more of a magical twist to it. But I loved how it went back in time. Definitely made me feel a bit nostalgic. An overall great read.
Memories of the 1980s and 90s very happy memories and a very easy read. Enjoyable if you want an easy fun read.
An absolute joy to read. I LOVE that we got a book about timetravel that wasnt sci-fy. I loved the characters and really enjoyed the plot, the big reveal wasnt exactly hard to guess but it didnt make it any less charming.
I'm glad I got the chance to access this book however, I read it on an alternative platform but still felt it was important to leave feedback on here. It was relatable as I was a teen in the 80s and made me reminisce. I would definitely recommend it.
I'm a sucker for the 80s so this title had me from the off, add in time travelling ring transporting the protagonist back to 1989 and you are on to a winner! The premise is far-fetched but it works beautifully with a great cast of characters, past and present and lots of eccentricities. This book should not be missed. Thanks to negtally for the advance copy.
A charming, poignant and thought provoking time travelling story where the current day heroine is transported back to the 1980s through a high street gift shop. Highly enjoyable and evocative of what the 80s were like.
With thanks to NetGalley, the author and publisher for an advance copy to read and review.
Loved this book. Quirky and a good read. Great characters and storyline well developed. Would definitely recommend.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for an ARC in exchange for an honest opinion
I really enjoyed this story. What would any of us give to go back in time and make a difference? Or would we at all?
It's such a good read and I love how developed the characters are.
The main character is so selfless and supportive of those around her.
It was a quick and heartfelt read and done so beautifully.
I loved Louise's previous novels, and this is no exception.
Exploring time travel, relationships and regret, I would recommend this to mothers and daughters alike,
Love this quirky read!
Thanks so much to NetGalley and the publishers for letting me read this title in exchange for my feedback.
A lovely entertaining read about a woman who has her world turned upside down and discovers nothing actually is as she believed it to be. She works in a vintage store and comes across a ring that takes her back to 1989. She makes a friendship there that will matter more than anything when the full truth comes out. Wonderful unwrapping of a story of a life coming apart, but coming back together in the best of ways
This was very Louise, I feel that she put a lot of herself into the story and it turned into a really enjoyable read.
There's a bit of everything, Time Travel, 1980s, mother/daughter relationships, family relationships, toxic relationships and the courage to be yourself and to stand up for you.
My favourite part was the time travel, I love the idea of it. Especially her involvement into Bea's life when they went out out. If you're looking for a contemporary read that's fun and a bit different I recommend Time After Time.
Wasn’t my favourite book I’ve ever read but definitely still worth it as a romance fan! Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for early access to this title!
This was a fun, reflective book involving time travel. Tabby finds a ring in her antique shop which enables her to travel back to the 1980s where she meets a new friend.
I really enjoyed this
This was a feel good read, and I adored Tabby! She was so relatable although you do find yourself as the reader saying “come on love, enough is enough”. The 80s vibes were perfect and the fashion fabulous, overall recommended.
Absolutely fantastic!!! I instantly loved Tabby, she was someone I could relate to and I know we would have been friends. I found myself telling her to leave David from the very beginning. I’ve met enough scumbags to recognise one!
A brilliantly written book, I’d highly recommend this to anyone. A real feel good story.
Having read Louise Pentland’s previous Wilde series I was excited to read Time After Tine and was thrilled to be given an arc.
I loved the premise of stepping back into the 1980’s but in reality the plot fell flat. As a character Tabatha is slightly annoying and I found the conformity for rules a bit tedious. Going back to the 1980’s to just walk down a street felt so lacklustre - I needed more adventures with Bea. Although the symbolism of these ‘trips’ makes sense later in the plot, it seemed at times there was too much going on. Towards the end I felt obligated to finish with no real want to continue.
Overall it was an ok read but I won’t be in a hurry to read more from this author.
I really enjoyed this book. Loved the characters, gripping from the very start. Would definitely recommend
An enjoyable, feel-good read with family at its heart. Reality needs to be suspended to fully enjoy this. Characters are good and I enjoyed Pentland's nod to previous work that fans will like.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bonnier Books UK for an advance copy.
Tabitha lives with her boyfriend David and her parents are happily married, if a bit dull, or so she thinks. Then, a bombshell - her father announces he has fallen in love with another man and he is leaving her mother.
Back at work in her shop, Tabitha finds a ring, tries it on and is transported back to the 1980s. Taking it off, she's back in the present day.
The complications of time travel, a failing relationship and the fallout from her parents' marriage make for an interesting backdrop to a fun book, with some twists to keep you interested.
A good holiday read.
