This friends to lovers book was a fun and enjoyable read. There was family drama and a steamy romance. The romance between Honor and Owen was amazing with great chemistry. I really liked that there was little tiptoeing around the fact they liked each other which I find can get repetitive.
This book is such a fun read filled to the brim with palpable sexual chemistry that practically burns off the page.
This is book three in the series. But can easily be read as a stand alone book so is perfect for new and existing fans alike.
A brilliant read and one I really enjoyed. The characters are loveable and varied, the plot is one that is engaging and medium paced. I found myself completely drawn into the story and enjoyed the writing style.
Thank you to NetGalley for this copy.
This is a really great book, kept me entertained throughout and I would thoroughly recommend to all.
This is one of those books that sounds so appealing to me when I hear about it but then just sadly don't enjoy when it comes to reading.
I just struggled with the relationship between the two main characters. At times I found the whole story to be a bit on the cringy side and felt iffy about their lie.
I'm definitely the odd one out when it comes to this book as the majority seem to love it. I did try and continue reading once I had seen the reviews but just couldn't get back into it and didn't want to push myself into a slump.
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
A romance that kept me on my toes while reading it. A wedding planner and her sister's ex fiancé? that sounds like a disastrous combination but the author has managed to make it both hilarious and worth of your time. It's an easy read, one that can be considered steamy hallmark type movie, where you get through a few hilarious and unconventional moments. The characters are well drawn and their interactions made for a good time reading.
Many say that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas but in this case, After a one-night stand with lots of fuzzy memories and a marriage certificate on both their names, they decided to keep it a secret after returning home. There will be lots of questions and side eyed conversations. Nothing unusual in this situation.
This made for a nice afternoon read when I didn't want to have to think too much about any of the characters or the story itself.
Perfect for the light romance readers.

What happens in Vegas doesn't stay in Vegas, when one night out turns into a wedding that neither newlywed can remember, from New York Times bestselling author Jaci Burton.
Wedding planner Honor Bellini is in Las Vegas for a work convention when she runs into her sister's ex-fiance, Owen Stone, who's also in town for his craft brewery business. They're both glad to see a familiar face from home...until a night of drinking leads to waking up in bed together--and a marriage certificate from a wedding that neither of them can recall.
Horrified, Owen suggests an immediate annulment. Honor agrees, but when they spend the day together, their chemistry is overwhelming. Plus, Honor has a flash of memory of their steamy wedding night, and she definitely likes what she remembers. They decide to wait before cancelling the whole marriage thing, though they both head back to Oklahoma determined not to tell anyone at home what happened in Vegas.
My Opinion
Firstly I would like to say that I had finished this book before I realised that it was part of a series - so it works as a standalone. This is a fun afternoon read, it is light-hearted and a little steamy in places. The book gets off to a slow start but the pace soon picks up and you'll be racing through this book before you know it.
Rating 4/5
Wedding planner Honor Bellini is glad to see a familiar face when she runs into her sister's ex-fiancé, Owen Stone, in Las Vegas during business trip. That is until a night of drinking leads to them waking up in bed together - and a marriage certificate from a wedding that neither of them can recall.
Owen suggests an immediate annulment and Honor agrees, but when they spend the day together, their chemistry is overwhelming. Plus, Honor has a flash of memory of their steamy wedding night, and she definitely likes what she remembers. They decide to wait and head back to Oklahoma determined not to tell anyone at home what happened in Vegas.
The problem is, Honor and Owen can't seem to stay away from each other. This huge secret has the potential to hurt someone they both care about. But could this accidental marriage be turning into love!
The book cover is eye-catching and appealing and would spark my interest if in a bookshop. Great storyline. Thank you very much to the author, publisher and Netgalley for this ARC.
This book is so much fun, it is a great read too. It's funny and has so much sexual chemistry throughout. This is book three in the series. But can easily be read as a stand alone book. Now I need to track down the other two books and read them too.
Is there any better way to spend the hottest day of the year, than reading a rather hot romance? I can't think of any, and this certainly didn't help my heat levels, as this had clear sexual chemistry from the off.
Of course the fact that Honor and Owen don't initially realise what they have done is the stuff that films are made of! It's great, and then watching them work out what on earth to do with this info and to start to try to unravel it is fun.
I didn't realise until after I had finished the book that this was the third book in a series about the Bellini series, so I can safely say it can easily be read as a standalone. However given how much I enjoyed it, I am sorry that I hadn't read and had the full background on the other two sisters.
I loved the Bellni's but I also thoroughly enjoyed Owen, and his new furry friend too.
I really enjoyed the various layers to this story, and given it's my first book from the author thoroughly enjoyed her writing too. This certainly won't be my last Jaci Burton book.
I fabulously hot and entertaining romance guaranteed to distract you from the reality of life for a few hours while you lose yourself between the pages.
Thank you to Headline Eternal and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
Honor and Owen end up married after a wild night in Vegas. He is her sisters ex fiance so should be off limits, but do they have a chance at being together for a real?
A great read, and I like how it is told from both points of view so you get to understand why he left her sister in the way he did.
This was a nice, lighthearted read, although, as a non drinker, I admit to not understanding how two people can end up getting married after a night of drinking and have no recollection of it.
Saying that, it was still an enjoyable read. It had a wonderful cast of characters.
Thank you to author Jaci Burton, NetGalley and publishers Headline for the chance to read this book.
what would you do if you woke up vegas married? But not just married to anyone your sisters ex who, left her before they where meant to get married.
Honor wakes up in vegas after a few too many drinks to find out she married Owen who was engaged to her sister. A little bit complicated and they decide to end it but, after spending time together they can’t ignore the connection they have. When they head back home they try and hide but the longer they hide it the more they know it’s going to hurt some of the people they love especially, Honor’s sister who has moved on and remarried but wounds take time to heal.
I love this story. It was so interesting and I really loved both of these characters. Owen hurt Honors sister years ago and still hates what he did to this day but, it’s been awhile and things have changed. Honor doesn’t want to hurt her sister but she can’t deny the attraction to Owen and especially how time goes on and feelings get deeper with each other.
I love this story and the characters. Honor and Owen have an amazing connection and a chemistry neither of them can deny. I loved this book and cannot wait to read more from Jaci!
My Review
This was a brilliant book I loved it was about wedding and It was full of humour fun. I smiled and laughed at these characters they were friends and trying to solve this surprise wedding. I loved every paged. Everyone going to love this one.
3.5 stars
Jaci Burton’s sweet, friends to lovers romance was really enjoyable. A fairly lighthearted, funny read with family drama and a surprisingly steamy (but utterly satisfying) romance.
What happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas…
Wedding Planner Honor is in Vegas for a work convention when she bumps into her sister’s ex-fiancé, Owen who’s also in town for his craft brewery business. Their glad to see a familiar face… until their night of drinking leads to waking up in bed together with a marriage certificate for a wedding they don’t remember.
They both agree to an immediate annulment but spending the day together leads to some serious chemistry. So deciding to wait, they head back to Oklahoma determined not to tell anyone what happened in Vegas.
The problem is Honor and Owen can’t seem to stay away from each another. And this secret has the potential to hurt someone they both care about—Honor’s sister Erin, Owen’s ex who he jilted at the alter. But could this accidental marriage be turning into love?
This is the first book by Jaci Burton that I’ve ever read and I’ll definitely have to check out the rest of the series because I really enjoyed it. It’s the third book in the Boots and Bouquets series but it does work as a standalone if you haven’t read the previous books.
The romance that brews between Honor and Owen was amazing, their chemistry is palpable almost instantly and the fact that they were friends for years meant their wasn’t as much tiptoeing around their attraction as I thought there’d be, and I really liked that.
I also really loved Honor, who is bold and confident and (for the most part) knows precisely what she wants, as I said I’ve not read the previous books so I cannot say what Owen’s character was like previously but I really liked him here. We do briefly touch on his reasons for jilting Honor’s sister but, it does complicate their relationship—but it makes total sense why they’ve decided to keep the marriage secret.
The romance is soo good, and definitely quite steamy, so if you prefer fade to black or closed door romances you might not enjoy this.
Overall, this is a really cute and satisfyingly light romance that friends to lovers and accidental marriage trip lovers are bound to enjoy.
A huge thank you to Headline Eternal and Netgalley for the e-arc.
The Accidental Newlywed Game
by Jaci Burton
Honour Bellini and Owen Stone had a chance whilst they were in Vegas for conferences. After having a drunken evening drinking tequila shots they wake up naked and married then their problems start. As Owen was previously engaged to Honours sister and abandoned her a few days before the wedding. They keep it secret whilst they find out about an annulment. When their secret is eventually revealed there is family friction.
This book has humour and begins a lighthearted easy read for a lazy afternoon, 3.5/5
I really struggled to get into this story, the chemistry between the characters just didn't sit well at all for me, I got about 45% of the way through and just couldn't continue.
Unsure whether this was me, so others could enjoy, the premise and plot were well thought out, although there was some confusion as at the beginning the MMC, Owen, was spoken about like Honor hadn't seen him for a while and they hadn't spoken. But then further in they were saying that they were each other's person they'd go and speak to in the past.
I'm aware that although this is a standalone, the supporting characters (Honor's sisters) had their own books and maybe I should have read these first.
The reason I am giving it 3 stars is because it wasn't a really awful book and there are others who may have enjoyed it, especially if they're familiar with the author and the story.
A Blend of Humour, Romance, With a Pinch of Steam and Family Friction ❣️
Following the lives of Honor Bellini and Owen Stone, who after bumping into each other when away on a business trip and a night of drinking, end up accidentally married. With a marriage and wedding night they can't recall, do they annul the marriage now or wait... made all the more difficult considering their families feelings. Trying to manage life as normal, keeping secret both their marriage and meeting up, is both exciting and difficult. When to say, what to do 🤔
From the very first page until the end a great read you'll not want to end....... ❣️
Having read a couple of other Jaci Burton Books I was happy with NetGalley gave me an ARC of The Accidental Newlywed Game in exchange for an honest review.
Sadly I was a little disappointed. The story, didn't seem to flow well for me it almost felt fragmented. I also felt there was a lot of contradictions....Owen describes Honor as his go to person...yet she ahdn't been to his house. He also kept repeating that her family hated him for what he had done to her sister in the past....yet they always spoke to him well.
I hadn't realised this was part of a series but it does stand alone. It's the kind of easy read I like when I've had a mentally draining day, you know one you can escape into. Sadly for this, I found myself rolling my eyes and almost giving up.

This was my first Jaci Burton novel and I will definitely be reading more soon! I hadn't read the previous books in the series, nevertheless it was easy to follow therefore it can be read as a standalone. This is a childhood friends to lovers story with a bit of family drama on the side. I loved the chemistry between Owen and Honor, they had such great banter and bounced off each other so well. There were never any instances of awkwardness between them all things considered.
I liked how Honor wasn’t portrayed as the meek and shy younger sister. She was just as bold and confident as Erin and Brenna. She knew what she wanted and didn’t tiptoe around Owen which was great to see in a FMC. Don't get me started on Owen, damn I loved the guy, I love his passion for his craft beers and how domesticated he is, who doesn’t love a man who cooks and cleans.
I felt for Owen after learning about his recent past, maybe not reading the previous two books came in handy as I didn’t have any ill feelings towards him. Owen had been diagnosed with cancer and had called off his wedding to Erin in the first book, there is clearly much more detail in her story but is still mentioned in this one too. He still hates his actions as he could’ve gone about doing things a little differently yet he needs to understand he has been forgiven by the Bellini family and his friends.
Overall this was such a cute read and I loved seeing Owen and Honor get their happy ending!
