A brilliant way of retelling Sherlock Holmes for children, and even adults can enjoy. Great versions and highly enjoyable.

Sherlock Holmes is approached about a missing document that could cause a lot of trouble. And, using his keen powers of observation, he saves the day and allows his client to live happily ever after. Definitely one of the simpler mysteries in the series, I think this one would be a great starter for a student to try on their own, and see if they can solve the mystery before the answer is revealed. I personally love the stories where they tell the reader that Sherlock kept a huge global crisis from occurring because of his mind. Another wonderful installment in the series for young readers. A great addition to a classroom library!

This is one of my favourite Sherlock Holmes stories and I am pleased to say this adaption for younger readers works really well. All the key parts of the story are here and it all flows perfectly. The illustrations add to the storytelling, and you still get the feel of the original story. I really enjoyed it.

This was a short and simple adaptation of the Holmes story for young readers. A good introduction into the world of Holmes and Watson without being overwhelming. Easy to read with some illustrations.

This series is a great way to introduce young readers to Doyle and the great Sherlock Holmes, but adults will also enjoy these short stories. The story slowly lays out the clues, allowing the reader to solve the mystery alongside Sherlock.

While not my favourite of the stories so far, it was still an engrossing and excellent read! I really do breeze through these, easily spotting the clues (or at least most of them!) even if I’m not so good at putting them together!

Just as delightful as the other books so far, and with more wonderful illustrations! I wish these had physical copies as I know a few customers who’d love them!

I’m a huge fan of these books. They expertly condense and sum up the original Sherlock Holmes stories and convey the original entertainment and stunning deducing skills of the famous consulting detective.

In The Naval Treaty, we see a document of great importance go missing, presumably stolen, with the eminent Mr Holmes on the case of it’s recovery. An old school friend of Watson gets in touch and presents this seemingly unsolvable case, but nothing is too small for Holmes!

These books really fly by and it’s a perfect hit of all things mystery. The clever way Sherlock solves these cases always impresses me and I love that a new generation will get to experience these books in such a great way.

With their easy writing style, great illustrations and perfect portrayal of the story, it’s perfect for a younger audience (and older) and does a great job at retelling the original tales.

No one except Sherlock Holmes can help him to find the treaty and avoid a great embarrassment for the British government! As events unfold with a frustrated break-in at Percy's house, Holmes draws together all the threads to reveal that the stolen treaty is in fact in the unlikeliest of places...read this book to find out where, and who stole it in the first place! A very entertaining and exciting mystery for both kids and parents/teachers, and I look forward to seeing more books in this collection.

I love reading the original Sherlock Holmes stories and was therefore excited to read this new Addison series meant for kids! Its a great take with a simplified plot but it's still very enjoyable and true to the original. 100% recommend for kids and adults alike!

Watson is sent a case from his old school friend and Holmes takes it on instantly. A secret and important treaty had been stolen and a mans career wrecked. But Holmes listens to the case and can solve it instantly.

This was pretty interesting, I actually didn’t solve it whilst reading it, but it also didn’t surprise me when all was revelaved. I love the way Holmes solves his cases and this was such an unusual case and he used his trickery to solve it alone.

I love having the illustrations throughout the story, I adore looking at them between reading the story. I love this series sharing Holmes and Watson’s cases in a condensed manner.

This series is just great for bedtime stories, they are short versions of the stories we all know and love but rewritten to be more suitable for a younger market.

Thoughts
At this point in time, I don't think I have to write much description of a Sherlock Holmes mystery. For anyone not familiar with this particular one, expect the usual - a vexing puzzle, a brilliant deduction, and a touch of drama. This story in particular is one of the several Sherlock Holmes mysteries that does not involve a murder, so anyone looking for an introduction to Holmes without the dead bodies that seem to follow might start here. In terms of adaptation, the writing is very accessible. The story is broken up into short, digestible chapters, that make for easy reading. Illustrations, of which there are many, are cartoony and charming. Overall, a good starting point for young readers, or a good addition for anyone wanting to read beyond the more famous Holmes adventures.

A fantastic abridged version of the classic Sherlock Holmes short story The Naval Treaty, conveying the narrative and spirit of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's work brilliantly. Dr Watson's old school friend, Percy Phelps, contacts him in a time of great need: an invaluable international naval treaty, which had been entrusted to Phelps at the Foreign Office, has been stolen! The police have managed to shed no light on the matter, and poor Phelps has been suffering from a total breakdown for ten weeks! His honour and career, and perhaps his life, are at stake. Phelps requests Watson to ask Holmes to look into the case, and Holmes is intrigued. Upon visiting Phelps' home in Woking, Surrey, Holmes meets Phelps, his fiancee Annie and her brother Joseph, and learns of the strange nature of the theft of the treaty from Phelps' room at the Foreign Office in London. Things take a dark turn when that very night, Phelps reports an attempted break-in to his bedroom by an intruder with a large knife! Holmes returns to Woking and devises an ingenious scheme to catch the thief red-handed. Could the thief, and the treaty, be lurking nearer than everyone thinks? Or is Holmes already too late to prevent the treaty from being sold into foreign hands?

The cartoonish illustrations capture the plot nicely and will be sure to an extra layer of entertainment for young readers as they follow Sherlock Holmes in unravelling the mystery behind the theft of the precious naval treaty. This entire series will be an excellent introduction for kids to Conan Doyle's classic stories, and will hopefully inspire them to read the originals as well. I will certainly be recommending this series to my younger mystery-loving students as the natural next step from the Famous Five and Secret Seven books!

In this installment of Sherlock Holmes & Dr. Watson, they work on figuring out where a butler & maid disappeared to. The illustrations were really cute and will keep kids interested in the story.
