This cute picture book will help parents with the help of a cute Chameleon get their children to love naps.

For anyone who knows or has children that hate naps, can’t fall asleep, and are adamantly opposed to bedtime? Well, this one’s for you. Little Chameleon feels the exact same way and will go to any means necessary to avoid having to take a nap. Desperate to get out of taking the dreaded nap, the chameleon gets (you guessed it) quite cheeky with her mom, and so the battle begins with mom vs. little one, nap vs. no nap.
Bonus: this one is really geared to help kids understand colors, rooms in the house, and preposition, and will include their reading skills, in addition to their understanding of what they are actually reading, as well.

Cheeky likes to hide because she blends so easy on to everything. Hiding from mom can be fun. Kids will love how cheeky is so clever hiding throughout the house. Your young reader will love trying to find her in every page. A fantastic way to learn about colors!

Oh boy, it's nap time and little chameleon hates naps! After much coaxing and cajoling, without any positive results, mom finally snaps. Little Chameleon takes off and mom has to find her cheeky little girl who defiantly refuses to sleep.

This delightful rhyming book will have kids searching for little chameleon as she changes colours and hides in different locations of the house. She blends in so well making it very hard to find the precocious little imp.

The vocabulary in the book is simple and the kid-friendly illustrations enable young children to enjoy the story even if they cannot read the words. This book is perfect for little ones learning their colours, names of different rooms in their home, about chameleons and prepositions. It would be wonderful in a ESL ( English as a Second Language ) setting as well as EFL ( English as a Foreign Language) setting.

I love the adorable little chameleon despite her cheekiness and the forgiving spirit of her mom once she is found and back in her own purple bed napping away as mom had originally planned. Kids can certainly relate to little chameleon I'm sure. I highly recommend this book.

This book has cute couplets. Cheeky is a little beat and won’t take a nap. Mom is way too patient. My question is would youngsters think this behavior is like a game?

This rhyming picture book tells the story of a chameleon who does not want to take a nap, instead he hides from his mother all over the house blending in with his surroundings. For the most part, the words are fairly simple and easy to decode and the font is very clear and accessible. The bright colourful pictures give an opportunity for young children to engage in the reading of the story even if they are too young to read the words. It also is a nice way to teach what a chameleon is. The use of colours and colour words is also great for young readers and children to be exposed to.

My only hesitation is that the author mentioned that she dedicated this book to her ESL students, but there are a couple of idioms in the story that I think would be difficult for ESL students to understand. Cheeky and sneaky are both words that do not really fit their literal definition, so it is best to carefully introduce them to ESL learners, but I'm not sure if there would be enough of an illustration and context in this book to help them develop an understanding of those words. They are a very small part of the story though and would be totally fine for fluent English speakers to understand.

I would recommend this book to parents and teachers of children in the age 3-7 range. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book!

Rio Haretian fills the pages with colorful illustrations which add even more fun and meaning to this book.

A cute little bedtime stories to read for children who do not want to sleep!

Cheeky chameleon is about a baby chameleon who hides so mommy chameleon won’t take her to bed to sleep. But can you find where she hides?

This was a cute and fun little read, and I bet it will be fun for young readers to try and find the chameleon who camouflages herself so she gets to hide from her mommy. It also has rhymes so it’s easier to follow and it’s fun to read along.

This is an excellent book to teach kids about colors and prepositions. I like how the Baby Chameleon hides in different rooms in the house by changing its color, hoping that it wouldn't be spotted by mom. Kids would definitely relate to this book, as most of them dislike taking naps or sleeping in general. I would definitely recommend this book.

<b> Cheeky Chameleon </b> is a Children's picture book that showcases that sometimes little ones just don't want to go down for a nap without a fighting chance at staying up.

The illustrative style is different and I did enjoy it. It reminds me of some illustrators from the 1990s. I also appreciated the white clouds behind the text for ease of reading.

I enjoyed the storyline as with a toddler I've gone through this once or twice and thank goodness he doesn't have color camouflaging.

4 Stars. Reason I'm giving 4 stars is because I didn't think there was a resolution in the conversation of the text. For a child, we're showcasing that mama is upset that they are hiding from nap, but when I read this to my toddler they just thought it was funny and they were doing it themselves. The little one wasn't told that it's not okay to hide before sleep - or if it is based on the expressions that mama gave and the tone I read from the text personally would say otherwise. Cute book though, was engaging the entire read and easy to read!

I'll start this review off in the same way as I've started all my other recent book reviews, by saying that this book (and every book I review) starts off with the full 5 stars and that I'm always hopeful that they are all stuck firmly in place by the time I close the back cover.

I'm also a childrens author and the age range of 2-8 years old covers two types of books - picture books for the up to 6's and early readers for the 7-8 year olds. They also have a huuuuge difference in understanding and interests, so I'm wondering which age group this book is really for already.

Whoever set this book out for the Kindle, didn't do a very good job because the words and the intended illustration are on two different pages with the words for the next illustration directly underneath the previous illustration so this middle-ager is getting confused already so I dread to think what the intended audience would be thinking and feeling about this book! The first star is dropping off unfortunately.

At 58% a very American word is used ("trash") which would seriously confuse such a young audience, so the second star is coming off.

This is definitely an American author and book 'cos of the spelling of "gray" too, which would confuse the upper age group this book is aimed at when they are being taught to spell it with an e ("grey") so the third star is coming off and we're down to two stars at 69% of the way through.

It ends well, but this really isn't a book for the UK market with such a young audience who are only just getting to grips with the English language.

Little Chameleon doesn't want to go to bed. Instead, she keeps hiding from her mom by changing colors. Her mom keeps finding her so she has to keep changing colors. Eventually, she gets so tired from hiding that she does fall asleep!

Cheeky Chameleon is a really cute story about a chameleon who keeps hiding from its mom! I loved the use of colors to describe the different positions the chameleon was in. A great book to practice reading as well as learning colors!
