DNF by 16%. Didn't enjoy this book one bit and i cannot provide any constructive feedback. Wouldn't recommend
Mall American Girl by Sarah Robinson is a page turning, fun and enjoyable read.
I Really loved it and would rate it Five Stars.
What a fun, quick summer read! This one really hit the spot when I needed something short to fill the gap at the end of a vacation, with its fun, competitive spirit and quick pace.
This is a cute novella and a much-needed short summer read.
Perfect blend of humor and romance and I will definitely always recommend this as a great beach or vacation read! Or even whatever in between 🙂
Summer and Kamar have an instant connection to one another and although it’s a novella, you can see how quickly everything ramps up for them.
The witty banter between the two of them is perfect!
I love the holiday setting as well.
meh
This book was an easy read but nothing fantastic. After a few days, I couldn't tell you what the main characters names were. This is a great quick read for a flight or road trip where you need something to keep your attention and entertain.
I liked the story and the characters but everything felt so rushed and there was no resolution on the ex girlfriend which I would have hoped for.
It was still entertaining though.
Was an edge of your seat emotionally thrilling journey from beginning to end. A heartwarming and action packed adventure filled with witty and engaging charters, heart racing twists and undeniable passion.
Things always happen when you least expect them!
Summer is focused and does not have time for distraction but the new singer is very distracting......
Kamar wants the american dream he really wants to make it so he is focused but summer is looking at him with her beautiful eyes.......
A fire cracker has been lit but will it fizzle out or will it explode with the love they both desire?
I received an advanced copy of this ebook from the publisher for an honest review. This book is well written and the characters are described well. This novella is a fast paced romance with great LGBTQIAP+ representation. I absolutely enjoy this authors writing style. This book is will make you laugh from the first page. I absolutely adored Kamar, Summer and Mara's characters. As you can guess it is set during the summer time. It is so fun and entertaining. This ebook is in stores for $1.99 (USD).
Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This was a cute, fluffy novella that takes place over the 4th of July celebrations. I enjoyed the story, it was a good blend of humour and romance. I think the downside was that it was very short. Whilst I understand it's a novella I just wanted so much more for this couple! I do think the epilogue was the best part of this story. If you are looking for a quick palette cleanser than I would recommend this.
Another Fantastic Addition to the At the Mall series!
I Love Sarah's incredible way of telling such a fantastic story in a short story!
this book had me laughing so hard at parts. But definitely gave all the mushy lovey dovey feelings as well!
One pitfall of novellas is that a lot of action and emotion has to be packed into a small amount of pages and it can be difficult to achieve a balance that doesn't leave the story feeling rushed or bloated. In this case, I found that I had a difficult time feeling fully invested in the story due to the quick unpacking of heavy emotional pasts in the span of just a few days. If the storyline had stretched out over a bit more time (and with a little less focus on the side characters), I think I would have made better connections with the leads. I do like the overarching mall theme of the series and will definitely try out one of the other novellas to see if it might be a better fit.
I have read all but one of these in the series and they are very quick but enjoyable reads.
Very basic, with not much description etc but good reads all the same.
And good for when you need a more lighthearted read.
3.5 Stars
Another fun and cute addition to the AT THE MALL series. Kamar & Summer had me cracking up with their competitiveness during the Independence games. The Epilogue had me smiling from ear to ear.
Mall American Girl by Sarah Robinson is the fourth installment in the At the Mall series. This is a short yet fun novella that takes place over the Fourth of July holiday.
Summer Darby is a competitor; she has to win at everything. Kamar Jaziri is a singer/songwriter that has a gig at the mall, where he meets Summer, the owner of Summer's Sun Spray Tan Salon. Over the Fourth of July weekend, there is a long standing tradition of the Independence Games. Summer and Kamar find themselves competing against each other but does their interest in each other get in the way?
This novella was definitely my least favorite of all the installments in the series. I just couldn't like these characters. Maybe if it was longer I would've liked them more but their relationship just seemed odd and forced. I do recommend the series because I did like the other ones, but this one was my least favorite.
3.5 stars! Another sweet and short read in the At the Mall series by Sarah Robinson. Sparks fly in this Independence themed story not just for the 4th but for Summer Darby and Kamar Jaziri. Darby is a small business owner and driven to be the winner of the Yule Heights Shopping Mall carnival. Kamar is a grad student pursing his American dream by singing his songs at the mall. It doesn't hurt that he's right out in front of Summer. The two are determined to beat each other for the top prize, which means besting each other at a hot dog eating contest. This charming book is full of laughs, a little queasiness, a jealous ex and self discovery.
ARC Complimentary copy provided by NetGalley for an honest opinion. It was hard to get in to this book. I did not feel a connection to the characters or the storyline.
On one hand it was a very quick, easy and kind of cute read but it also felt too quick, the romance and chemistry felt forced , awkward and too insta for my liking. But that being said, i liked the writing.
Incredible. One of those rare books that should be dispensed on prescription to every household. Four stars
Like all of the Sarah Robinson’s stories I’ve read. This novella is super short, incredibly sweet and leaves me wishing it was a full novel. I loved it. Also the epilogue in this left me smiling it was the best.
