This series of books is adorable. I love the sweet illustrations and information that is at an introductory level for the younger crowd. We learn about apples and pears, pumpkins and gourds, mushrooms and herbs. There are simple recipes, activities, and crafts that focus on using the produce and nature of the season in a variety of ways. I only wish that the book was longer! It would be wonderful if the publisher combined all four books into one. The book size is large and I enjoy the feel of the matte cover and pages.

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. An excellent book for homeschoolers and stay-at-home moms with great recipes and craft ideas for the fall season.
This is such an awesome resource for families, especially homeschoolers. We used this throughout the fall and have recommended it to other families in our circle.
This was such a cute read! There were lots of craft ideas and facts to go along with all of the illustrations. It offered a wide range of things to do during the Autumn time and it made me wish I was a little homesteader child!
I love this treasury series, this will be one to revisit for years and years. So useful, charming and timeless.
Thanks so much to NetGalley and the publishers for letting me access an advance copy in exchange for my honest feedback.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ -- I love the covers on the books in this series!
Having rated Winter, Spring, and Summer in this series I couldn't wait to get my hands on the Fall version! My favorite time of year. All the books in this series have been wonderful and this one was no different. Full of colorful and adorable illustrations, fun facts (Fall crops), recipes (pumpkin muffins), crafts (making a birdhouse from a gourd), and activities (uses for cores, seeds, and peels)...just to name a few. This book (and all the books in this series) would make the perfect gift(s) for any curious young person.

Little Homesteader: A Fall Treasury is the autumn edition of this beautiful series for children. Again there are lots of little activities to do in this book such as growing an apple tree using seeds from your apples, making a bird feeder, drying herbs and much more.
I didn't feel there was as much added to this book in comparison to the first two but I still enjoyed it.
These make a beautiful series to keep and cherish and pass down through the family. I love the simple yet cute illustrations and can't wait to see what comes next!

This is a fantastic book. It is filled with really helpful, and age appropriate, information. And the pictures are adorable!
This is a very cute children's book all about the treats of Fall. Learn all about Fall harvests including pumpkins, corn, gourds, herbs, apples, and more. This little treasury if filled with easy, DIY recipes and crafts perfect for kids and a grown-up helper. It's also packed with interesting facts and ideas. I love this book even as a grown-up just for gardening, harvesting, and Fall recipes!
This book was a great wee treasury of crafts and recipes - one to use and enjoy some family time with children of all ages - it’s well detailed with brilliant illustrations that are easy to follow
Ahhhhh, this book is so handy and so adorable with all its cute kiddos.
Wonderful easy to create activities as well as easy to bake/cook recipes.
Some of the ideas are so clever like putting apple slices or pear slices in a tearpot with hot water so as to make tea.
Enjoyed this one.
We're in the middle of a heatwave where I live, so there's no better way to be reminded that cooler times are on the way than to luxuriate in some autumn themed titles.
In this fun book, kids get to learn about gourds and pumpkins, mushrooms, herbs, and saving seeds, before heading to the kitchen to make applesauce and pumpkin muffins. There are also craft projects that celebrate the beauty and abundance of the season.
The illustrations are sweet, and lend an old-fashioned charm to the text.
"Treasury" is the perfect word to describe this book. It would make a wonderful reference to take off the shelf whenever the birds start to fly south.
Part of the Little Homesteader series, this treasury is filled with recipes, projects, nature study, and so much more. Geared for the preschool to early elementary age group, ideas in this volume are all centered around the fall season and include:
how make applesauce
how to make a birdhouse out of a gourd
how to make apple chips
saving seeds
crafting acorn cap candles
and more!
The book also describes how to distinguish one variety of apples from another, types of fall crops, information about mushrooms and herbs, along with so much more wisdom.
I have reviewed several of these titles and each time I'm delighted with each one. They are filled with so many ideas, and contain just enough information not to overwhelm young readers, but to entice them into learning further. Although mainly geared toward a younger crowd, my older children even loved the recipes and craft ideas. These books would make a wonderful gift or fun addition to any home. We love this series and are delighted to recommend them to families with young children.

An utter delight. These books have brought me such happiness. Each season is perfectly done and the pictures are out of this world adorable. I am also a sucker for fall/autumn, so this one had me from the very beginning. I cannot wait to do these activities with my kids!
This book is so perfectly fall-- and aesthetically pleasing, but also full of knowledge combined with activities perfect for little ones to complete. We can't wait to make a gratitude tree once the season changes and love that the pages of the actual book are on recycled paper.
First off, I love this book! It’s full of great recipes and ideas! Second, my son, age 6 enjoyed looking through it and wants to help me try some of the recipes! You’ll love it!
Such a fun informational/activity book for children of all ages! This book is filled with facts about all things fall as well as recipes, crafts, and activities. All of the activities could be done (with supervision) with children as young as pre-school and older children could complete many of the activities on their own or with only some adult assistance.
The illustrations are lovely and are helpful to give an example for some steps of the projects.
A great seasonal addition to your bookshelf. I also love that the book is made from recycled paper!
Thank you to the publisher and Net Galley for the advance digital copy in exchange for an honest review
Little Homesteader: A Fall Treasury of Recipes, Crafts, and Wisdom is a fully illustrated picture book for kids and caregivers full of fun fall themed activities and recipes by Angela Ferraro-Fanning and illustrated by Anneliesdraws. Released 5th July 2022 by Quarto on their Ivy Kids imprint, it's 32 pages and is available in hardcover format in this edition.
This is such a fun book full of colorful illustrations full of small details which suit the simple projects very well. There's such a wholesome and inclusive vibe throughout that I found myself smiling often looking through the crafts. The projects are safe and will provide lots of ideas for families with young kids as well as facilitators, educators, childminders, and others who spend a lot of time in the company of youngsters. There are some projects which can be done by kids alone, but the ones which need adult supervision are clearly marked. They're all fall themed and include both indoor and outdoor activities. Some of the projects are also designed to help support wildlife with food and shelter/habitat.
This would make a great choice for public or classroom library acquisition, maker's groups, scouting/activity groups, church youth groups, and families. The included projects are aimed at roughly 5-8 year olds, but can be adjusted.
Five stars. Fun projects, a wholesome book.
Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes.
THANK YOU to Ivy Kids & NetGalley for sending me this ARC. All reviews are honest reflections of my own opinions, always.
Vibrant autumnal illustrations paired with a multitude of fall facts, from pumpkin & apple varieties, to herbs. Recipes feature all the tastes & pleasures of harvest season with apple tea (my favorite), sweet pumpkin muffins (second favorite) & plenty more.
I loved the variety of low waste activities, which include projects for a wide age range, & vary from herb gardens & growing your own mushrooms, to seed maracas among many others.
A beautifully illustrated book for the young & young at heart. Each page is filled with Autumn knowledge & things to do, making it a perfect book to share both in the reading & the experiences it offers.
Adorable illustrations and age appropriate crafts. Lots of great ideas to occupy your little ones during the fall months.
