My 6-year-old loved reading all about Neil Armstrong and was able to read most of the book herself with just a little help. She loved some of the little details such as how Neil owned a pilot's licence before a driving licence and how the crew of the Apollo 11 had to come up a last minute plan to get back to Earth when ignition button broke. The illustrations help tell the story beautifully and my daughter was left with a very good introduction to Neil Armstrong along with some fascinating facts to share with her friends.

I got this Little People Big Dreams book for my seven year old daughter who loves them. This one was no different. A great fun and educational account of Neil Armstong’s life presented in a nice way for children to read with nice illustrations. As an adult I also love to read them, and always learn something new at the same time. Definitely recommend!

This series is a unique way to teach children about important events in history.

Neil's story didn't include anything different, but it is a good introduction into discussing what roles he played with NASA and how important his mission was.

I like the bonus features at the end of the book that include a time line, overview of the book and reading recommentdations to learn more about Neil and Apollo 11.

The illustrations are colorful and match the story.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Neil Armstrong book is super cute! My two boys are interested in nonfiction books like this, including anything space. And I personally also love reading space nonfic, so this was an enjoyable read for all of us! This was a first look at what astronauts must do *before* joining NASA, being in the air force and piloting jets, so that was an extra level of fun. I'm thankful for nonfiction kids books that they can enjoy. The art is that lovely and realistic midcentury animation style that we have liked in other books.

This doesn't get a full 5 stars just because this isn't necessarily a good one to reread. It's the kind of book my kids might pick up once every few months. Perhaps more detailed graphs of the jets and space craft alongside of the story would make it more engaging for regular browsing.

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for an ecopy to read and review. I read this with my 3 and 5 yr old boys.

Good information. The book kind of sucks you in. My son has always been intrigued with astronauts and scientists. So he really enjoyed learning about Neil. Also a good nicely designed book to educate kids. Always a plus!

I was sent this ARC by the publisher for my honest review.

This book is part of a series of biographies of people who have shaped history. This book about Neil Armstrong is written so that these people, their dreams and their accomplishments, are accessible to children of all ages. When I teach my elementary students, it can be hard for them to understand history and people and events from the past. However this book has a well woven story that is simple enough for students to understand.

It was great to see how Armstrong, led by his passion for planes, went to college. He wanted to be the best and have the knowledge and experience to back it up. Even when he was sent to war, when he came back he finished his degree. Nothing was going to get in his way. I feel that this book will inform them about a great American figure and give them the chance to dream for themselves.

With thanks to the author, publishers Quarto Publishing Group – Frances Lincoln Children's Books, and NetGalley for providing me with a digital ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

This is another fantastic installment in the Little People Big Dreams series. These are always 5-star reads for me, and this one was no different.

As always, the story's message is a positive one, showing how Neil Armstrong, one of the most famous people of all time, had a dream from a young age that would have seemed impossible to most but that, through hard work and determination, he was able to achieve. The story offers a whistle-stop tour through the important events of his life, including one fact I had not known previously, in that his application to NASA was submitted late and was only accepted because of his friend's intervention!

The illustrations in the book are excellent as always with this series, while the mini-biography of Armstrong (complete with a timeline) at the end of the book is a great resource for young readers to cement the facts learned in the book.

Top marks from me, and I can't wait for the next installment!

I really love the LPBD series, but this one was especially good! It had a lot of great information and fun facts about Neil Armstrong (like how his application to NASA was late but his friend got it in the pile for him). A great addition to a great series that belongs in libraries and classrooms.

Thank you to netgalley for a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

Little People, BIG DREAMS. One of a series for adults to read with children and for ESL to polish their English and learn about people who have shaped their world.
The first man to walk on the moon was once a child who dreamed of flying a plane. He did that, went to college, flew with the USAF, became an astronaut, and more. He worked for it and his dreams did more than just come true!
The illustrations by Christophe Jacques are mostly simple and forthright. Every public and school library needs a copy!
I requested and received a free temporary e-book on Adobe Digital Editions from Quarto Publishing Group/Frances Lincoln Children's Books via NetGalley. Thank you!

Little People Big Dreams has done it again with their latest book; Neil Armstrong.
Neil Armstrong's story is inspiring, informative, and full of hilarious moments both children and adults will love.

Upon opening the book Neil Armstrong you are welcomed into the fascinating life story of little Neil as he grows up to be one of the first astronauts to visit the moon.

The art work throughout is phenomenal, no detail has been missed and the colour palette is beautiful. I love the detail with the noses.
Not only is it good to look at but the art in this book is fantastic for engaging young minds and sparked many questions in our household on drawing techniques.

My children (7yrs and 4yrs) were engaged throughout this book and had many questions about the life events and history displayed. 'Little People Big Dreams; Neil Armstrong' would be a wonderful resource to any unit study on space, the moon, astronauts or even aviation.

Another fantastic book to add to your Little People Big Dreams collection.

I was gifted a digital copy of "Little People Big Dreams; Neil Armstrong" in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This was a solid entry into the series - I can see it being one of the more popular ones because of the space factor. One think I particularly liked about this was how the art evoked the cartoon art of the time period.

I continue to be impressed with Sanchez Vegara's Little People, Big Dreams series. Her research is obvious and she has the gift to distill this information to a level for elementary readers.
In this book, we meet Neil Armstrong as a child committed to flying. The author shows the important milestones along his journey to becoming an astronaut. As you would expect, much of the information is about Apollo 11's trip to the moon and the lunar landing.
The timeline provided at the end of the book offers readers more details on Armstrong's life for those who want to know more.

The ‘My First Little People, Big Dreams’ series provides informative and inspirational biographies about people who left a mark on this earth, no matter what difficulties they have encountered.
These stories are very short, but that’s because they’re books for children, so it’s totally understandable.
I think they are a very smart and wonderful way to introduce little children to such important figures. This one here is about the great Neil Armstrong. It's so crazy to think that he took his first plane ride at only six! And it's even crazier to think that he was the first person ever to walk on the moon in 1969! I think this book is a good way to introduce to children this special figure. I'm so happy they have the opportunity to learn that the impossible can become reality with only one small step.

I’m trying to introduce my nephew to biographies and why their stories are important and what we can learn from them. I’m glad that he knew who Neil Armstrong was and still learned some new facts about him from this story.

As a little boy, after seeing Cleveland Air Race, Neil wanted to become a pilot. At 16, he got a license to fly. He studied aeronautical engineering. After graduating, he became a hotshot test pilot. When NASA was looking for astronauts for its first spacecraft mission, he applied. He was part of the team, who launched Apollo II mission to the moon. With his left foot on the lunar space, he became the first person on the moon. “Impossible can become reality with one small step.”

This story brings a great lesson for young children/readers. Throughout his journey, there were some obstacles, but he found solutions to proper himself forward. It teaches them that with small steps you can make a difference, and to never give up.

Illustrations are interesting, supporting the text. The sentences are simple and to the point making it a quick and engaging read.

There is a good progression through Neil’s life. As always, there is a more detailed biography at the end. I love this series. It seems like this book was written for older kids than the rest of the series.

The Little People, Big Dreams series is simply magnificent. Educating young readers about important people who have made a difference in the world. The series ranges from Elvis an RuPaul to Helen Keller and J.R.R Tolkien. There is a book for every reader.

This book features Neil Armstrong, one of the first men to go to and walk on the moon. The book starts with Neil’s love for flying and brings your through the moon landing and more. The illustrations are colorful and practically animated, at times you feel as if you are watching a PBS special. The end of the book features a timeline and actual pictures of Neil Armstrong.

Educationally Entertaining!!

This picture book biography tells the story of Neil Armstrong and his contributions to our understanding of the moon. Including the famous quote "one small step for man..." this book gives a great overview of not only this huge milestone in our understanding of outer space, but also about the man who helped make many contributions to the field of astronomy and space travel. I would recommend this book to parents and teachers of children in the age 5-11 range. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book!
