You, Again could not have been more perfect for me! The perfect romance read, it was a quick read with plenty of brilliant characters and palpable spice! Thoroughly enjoyed.
A cute rom com that made for very easy reading. It was an OK story for me. I couldn't really warm to either main character but i did like how it all panned out. I think the last 1/4 of the book was my favourite it seemed to come together and had a satisfying end.
Lauren Layne never disappoints. I could read her books all day. Loved the chemistry between Thomas and Mac. The opposites attract trope is one of my faves and this one was done so well.
I was about 2 chapters in before i was already recommending this books to all my friends and family.
The modern day rom-com book that has me feeling like I’m watching one of the classic 90s/00s romance movies! It had be laughing non-stop and it was so easy to follow that i devoured it in 2 days (it would’ve been 1 but my mum turned up. Guess we have that in common Mac 🙄)
AND THOSE SPICY SCENES🧎🏽♀️🧎🏽♀️goddamn
Please please please read this book so I can talk to everyone about it!
Thank you NetGalley for the eARC
Lauren Layne does it again!
Another great enemies-to-lovers romance full of sharp banter and snappy writing.
The meet-cute (being rejected on a dating app by the person sitting right next to you) was brilliant! I love Lauren's style of writing and the sweetness in her love stories.
I'd definitely recommend it.
4.5 stars
I honestly devoured this book so quickly and loved every single minute of it.
I'm such a big fan of enemies to lovers and this one really ticked all the boxes for me. I loved the chemistry between our two main characters and the way they interacted with each other!
I'm actually so glad I took a chance with this one (as I previously dnf-ed one of her books) because I thoroughly enjoyed this one! It's always important to give authors a second chance. Just because you may not have got on with one of their books doesn't mean the same for their others.
I only wish that it had been longer and dual povs!
Thank you so much to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
A perfect read that I have been pulled into and unable to put down.
This is a gem to read and one that’s taken me on a rollercoaster.
Lauren Layne has really come a long way from her earlier books, I adored this one (and immediately pre-ordered my own copy) after reading this ARC. I loved the banter and chemistry between Mac and Thomas. They were a case of opposites attract but utterly perfect for each other. What was even delightful is the appearance of earlier characters of Lane’s who also had a similar love story. This book is fun and delightful. I cannot wait for her next book.
this is my altime favorite author.. this review hurts me the most i feel
this book felt very disconnected and everytime something would build it would just shatter.
mac was horrendous becuase she couldnt commit to her own character and identity which was odd
it was a roller coaster, it was cringy, it was commitment phobia, it was free spirited but not, it was just confusing. I have been trying to finish this since June (its October now) and its just not getting a higher score from me and i am sorry
I have read so many of Lauren Layne’s books now and this one was just as delightful as the others. I always find that her books are amazing for some light hearted escapism.
The characters had such great chemistry, as they do in all of her books, and I thoroughly enjoyed time reading.
The only complaint I have is that I do wish it was dual POV, that is the only thing that would have upped my rating to a 5⭐️.
I can’t wait t see what Lauren Layne does next!
I love Lauren Layne's books.
Every time I feel like I am going into a reading slump, I pick up a Lauren Layne book and I instantly fall back in love with reading, and this book was no exception.
'You Again' was such a good enemies to lovers book. The reason why they disliked each other was kind of funny, how she rejected him on a dating app whilst he was sat next to her at the bar. I loved the tension between these characters. There was so much good banter and chemistry between them. I feel like Lauren Layne writes relationships so well, and even though this book is under 300 pages long, I still felt the connection between these characters throughout the whole book and none of their relationship felt rushed to me, which is what happens a lot with shorter romance books.
I adored this book. I read it so fast. I feel in love with Mac and Thomas and their relationship.
I can't wait to read Lauren Layne's next book, and to work my way through her whole backlist.
I do love a cutesy front cover, and it being pink drew me I straight away. They say don’t judge a book by it’s cover, but I do. And if it’s pink, it’s going on my shelf.
We have Mackenzie – Mac – Austin the fun loving, free spirit everyone wishes to be at 28. She dates to get laid and that’s about it. Until she gets stood up by her gym crush…maybe crush is the wrong word… gym guy that she wishes to see if he does have that V-cut. She taps through a dating app, but doesn’t tap yes on one guy and his picture fades from view.
But then she looks up and he’s sat right next to her. Cue awkward interaction as Thomas Decker – AKA Said Guy From Dating App – saw the whole thing.
And to make matters worse, Monday morning she sees him at work. He’s her new boss. Cue another awkward interaction.
As the weekend approaches, Mac heads off to her friends engagement party where she is made of honour. All is going well until Mac is introduced to the Groom to be’s big brother, yup you guessed it – Thomas Decker.
What are the chances!?
This book is perfect for all those who think love is stupid. Because it is.
Let me explain…
You meet a guy who is exactly what you don’t want, whatever that may be. But you can’t stop thinking about them. You end up wanting to talk to them just to talk to them, sending a silly message that seems carefree and like you don’t care, when actually you’ve been agonising over the message for the past few hours making sure you said as if you’re not interested at all. You hook up. You text. You meet up. And then one night, you go round to his and end up just sleeping. That’s all. You have food, chat, and end up sleeping in bed together.
How did that happen!?
But you know you never want to be without them now.
Prepare to fall in love with Mac and Thomas – and even Stephanie and Ethan (Lauren, I want their story!) – and end up ugly crying by the end.
Obsessed by this book!!!
First can we talk about this cover…I mean it has to be one of the prettiest in forever in the romance world, right? I adore it!! (The UK cover, which is also lovely, is on the 2nd slide, if you want to have a peek of that too)
I’m such a big fan of @laurenlaynebooks
Her last one was one of my absolute favourites and I was worried this wouldn’t live up to my expectations but my gosh, it did massively.
This was definitely my favourite from Lauren so far, it was utter romance perfection. The male and female leads were everything you could hope for and the storyline was a dream.
Something that I really noticed was that half way through the book or just before, a pretty big plot moment happens. I’ve read so many romances that this plot moment would have been where the book ends but in You, Again we get to see after that moment.
We really get to stay with the characters and be a part of their friendship and relationship and get to really see a massive part of their world. Where most romance books end and leave you hanging, Lauren gives us everything we could want and more in this one!
I want to reread this almost immediately which is a big deal coming from me as I rarely reread fiction.
If you love Lauren’s past books, get ready to meet your new favourite and if you’ve never read one before I’d say start here! ✨
I’ll put the blurb in the comments below!

I enjoyed so much the previous books by this author and was looking forward to read this one as well.
She delivered a swoon worthy romance with great characters, some trials, mischievous moments and a beautiful romance overall. So much push and pull between them that made me laugh and smile throughout the story.
If you are seeking a great romance book, look no further than this book. It might be one of my favourite 10 romances of the year.
What a delightful read….The overall feeling from reading this book is like being enveloped in a warm hug from that special someone in your life. My cheeks hurt from smiling through this delightful book.
I could not have loved this book any more! The perfect romance read for me, it was a quick read with plenty of brilliant characters and of course the spice was there! I am a sucker for anything Lauren Layne and this book was certainly no exception!
Really enjoyable read. This is my third LL book and I really like her writing style. I felt drawn into Mac and Thomas’ story from the start. They both had great chemistry, sweet, spicy, a little antagonistic and a lot hot. Mac was a fun character and it was entertaining watching her ever growing denial of what was happening with Thomas. She had some good realistic growth in the end and I liked that she was still Mac but allowed herself to let something more in as well. (4⭐️)
Loved this book, the story of Mac and Thomas. Opposites attract, but will they give each other a chance?
Thank you for the opportunity to review this new novel.
I really liked this story that was funny with all the coincidence and the wry humor from Thomas. Mac was a bit annoying though with her phobia for commitment and it was taken too far. Thomas was better written as a character and therefore more likable.
In the end I rooted for them in this funny and sweet story.
This story was absolutely AMAZING! I'm an absolute sucker for an enemies-to-lovers, workplace romance. However, recently I’ve found the storylines can be repetitive - this was the complete opposite, a refreshing take on the trope! 🔥
The storyline was well written and thought out, the pacing was done well and the slow burn was scorching. 😍
I absolutely loved the oppposites attract vibe, Thomas and Mac were a perfect example of how often these couples actually work. 👌
Mac wasn’t the typical FMC and I love that about her, it made her so memorable for me and she’ll definitely stick with me. Seeing her arc for me was so sweet and satisfying, and although at one point I couldn’t stomach her Mum for the attitude she pushed on her, by the end I was so happy for them both. ☺️
Thomas is a definite book boyfriend for me and MY GOD the spice 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶!
That man can dirty talk 🥵🥵🥵 PANTY MELTER 🩲
Usually in my reviews I give a recommendation of a film or movie you’d enjoy; You, Again is a modern and sexy Bridget Jones’ Diary! 📔
Thomas channels Mark Darcy when he proves his bedroom skills to Mac - my favourite scene from the film ran through my mind.
🎥 “Nice boys don’t kiss like that.” “Oh yes, they F/(!ING DO” 😍😍 🎥
Honestly, you will not regret reading this book 🥰 the emotions are high; I laughed, cried and my chest ached. The writing is fun and flirty. And you definitely can’t judge a book by its cover - if someone sees you reading this, they’ll never realise the smut burning off the page😈
