What a stunning conclusion to this duology. Rebecca Ross has also stunned me with her story-telling. I have absolutely loved reading this and revisiting the characters and the world. I don't think I actually put my kindle down while reading A Fire Endless. I was so engrossed in the story.

Thank you for the E-arc, sorry for the delay in reviewing,

Rebecca Ross's *A Fire Endless* is a remarkable follow-up to *A River Enchanted*, providing a gripping conclusion to the Elements of Cadence duology. Picking up right where the first book left off, Ross draws us back into the richly crafted world of Cadence, an island infused with Celtic-inspired folklore and marked by age-old rivalries.

Ross shines in her portrayal of complex characters facing tough decisions. Adaira, now reconnected with her birth family in the West, grapples with her identity and the weight of new responsibilities. Jack, ever the loyal friend, finds himself navigating a fraught political landscape filled with challenges. Sidra, my personal favorite, continues to evolve as a leader, her strength and resilience shining brightly as a source of hope for her people.

The writing in *A Fire Endless* is exquisite. Ross's vivid descriptions of the island's landscapes—from windswept cliffs to enchanting forests—immerse readers in the setting. The prose flows seamlessly, pulling you deeper into the story with every page turn.

This novel explores themes of family, duty, love, and sacrifice. The characters’ journeys go beyond simply defeating a villain; they delve into understanding themselves and their places in the world. This depth lends emotional weight to the narrative.

Ross expertly weaves together the various plot threads, delivering a satisfying conclusion that feels both earned and hopeful. The ending brings a sense of closure while also leaving space for the imagination to roam.

That said, the pacing in the book's middle section can feel a bit uneven, with some plotlines advancing more slowly than others. Although I appreciated Torin’s perspective in *A River Enchanted*, his chapters in *A Fire Endless* felt less engaging. His character arc seemed somewhat stagnant compared to the significant growth experienced by the other characters.

Despite these minor quibbles, *A Fire Endless* stands out as a beautifully written and emotionally resonant fantasy novel. Ross has crafted a world that feels both familiar and magical, filled with characters you can’t help but cheer for. If you loved *A River Enchanted*, this captivating conclusion to the duology won’t let you down.

This book comes highly recommended for fans of fantasy with strong female leads, lyrical prose, and Celtic-inspired settings.

Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for gifting me with this review e-arc of A Fire Endless.

I devoured this ebook, while listening to the audiobook due to listening to this after it had been released. I got A River Enchanted in one of my book box books, and being from Scotland *and* a lover of anything elemental magic, I was hooked. The way that Jack and Adaira moved through the f irst book made me need book two, and Rebecca Ross didn't dissapoint. She has very quickly become an author who can do no wrong in my eyes. I very quickly read more books of hers after adoring this duology!.

I can also highly recommend the audiobook!

Sometimes a book’s title conveys the content of the book with better accuracy than other times. This title has more than a hint about the secrets and the way things were going to go. Obviously its impact is apparent only towards the climax.

I did not read the previous book before reading this one. I had hoped to, but only managed to get this one. It had been sitting on my virtual shelf for a long time and I finally got around to reading it.

Although I would not recommend it exactly, I am glad I read this book and not just the first one. There was sufficient information to understand the magic and suffering in the world and I appreciated the sudden ‘twist’ towards the end with as much gusto as if I had spent longer with these characters than I had. I would not have the satisfaction of the conclusion if I had read it the other way around.

The world is torn into two halves by magic grown around hate. This basically has meant two sets of people living physically close by, but having a whole different world to grow up in. Some of the events in the previous book are mentioned repeatedly, but the details are not entirely relevant given how things go in this one. There’s healing in the end but it will be a hard fought victory.

There are a lot of moving pieces, and it’s not fantastic with creatures and such. It’s a world like ours with magic in smaller things like music and crafts. I enjoyed the change of pace in this book as compared to my other reads.

I would highly recommend this to fans of the genre.

I received an ARC thanks to Netgalley and the publishers but the review is entirely based on my own reading experience.

Rebecca Ross is an incredible storyteller who can weave together an enthralling tale that has you breathless to race through to its conclusion. This latest offering is no different, and I loved returning to these characters and seeing where the story she had begun in A River Endless raced to its inevitable conclusion.

I must admit, I suffered from sequel syndrome with this book. I liked the first one much more, even if I loved going back to the island and the characters, I felt somewhat detached from them. Still a beautiful and dreamy book by Ross, who is slowly becoming one of my most read authors.

Every time I pick up a book by Rebecca Ross I settle into her magical realm and fall in love. She has the ability to create such a beautiful lyrical and magical atmosphere with her writing.

I love the characters in The Fire Enchanted and especially love the character development of Torin and Sidra. I love all the names!

This was a perfect ending to the duology and I recently purchased Divine Rivals to embrace more of her wonderful writing.

Having read A River Enchanted I was super excited to get access to this new beaut, thanks Harper Collins and Netgalley and couldn't wait to read it. It took me longer than expected to read it and tick it off my shelf but my goodness it was a great second instalment.

The characters had progressed a lot in this book and I enjoyed seeing different sides to certain people throughout the book. It was a fast paced read that kept me reading because I couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen.

I enjoyed seeing where this book took the characters, the themes it was touched on and the ending was brilliant. I really enjoyed it,

This book was beautifully written. Ross writes so vividly, the setting, atmosphere and emotion just bleeds right off the page and flows right in to your imagination. It truly is a beautiful reading experience, and I've come to love all the characters so much. I was genuinely weeping (multiple times) while reading this - both for and with the characters. Gods, I loved it.

I really enjoyed the plot of this one and seeing the other side of Cadence, getting to know the Breccan clan a bit more, and the Spirits on that side of the isle. I loved the addition of Kae, who, despite her not being able to communicate verbally for the majority of the book, spoke so much.

I thought the reveals were interesting and I loved how the plot and all it's mysteries tied together. While I really did enjoy A River Enchanted, this book is definitely my favourite of the two.

The stunning sequel to A River Enchanted finds the human and faerie realms threatened by an immortal enemy whose defeat can only come through fire, song, and heartrending sacrifice.

Having read A River Enchanted I was looking forward to the conclusion of the Elements of Cadence duology. It was a fantastic end, the characters I loved in the first book, Adair’s and Jack return and I was completely invested in their stories.

The duology is a Celtic inspired myth and the sense of place is so incredibly strong that I felt I was immersed in the setting along with the characters.

The series is strong and I would be very happy to return to Cadence in the future.

Thank you to HarperVoyager and Netgalley for an ARc.

Loved reading this and finishing the journey started in book one. The world is truly magical and the various relationships (romantic, platonic, family) made me care so much for the characters.

It's official, I love anything that Rebecca Ross writes (and there are very few authors I can say that about).

This was a beautiful end to the Elements of Cadence. BEAUTIFUL.

It was pure magic in writing, the story and the characters. It has such a cosy daydream feel to it.

After finishing A River Enchanted, I couldn’t wait to dive into the second book in the series. Although it did take me a while to get around to this, I was so excited to see how everything was going to end. A Fire Endless is absolutely phenomenal. I went into this one with high expectations, and it surpassed all of them. I loved every single moment of this book, and I am a little sad that this is only a duology, because I want more!

A Fire Endless takes us back to the Island of Cadence, a divided island with two warring sides. We see one of our main couples divided across the sides. Jack is still in the East, while his love Adaira has returned home to the West. I was so anxious about this separation at the end of the first book. I both loved and hated it, I hated the separation… but I can’t lie, I love a cliff-hanger. I absolutely loved every moment of A Fire Endless. From the yearning and waiting for Jack and Adaira to find their way back to each other, to the bigger storyline of the spirits. I loved that we got to see more of the spirits in this one. I was on the edge of my seat for so much of this phenomenal book. I listened to it on audiobook, and while I usually only listen on my commutes, I was putting the audiobook on as soon as I got in the house as well, as I just couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen.

The Elements of Cadence series has been the first Rebecca Ross series I have read… and it certainly will not be the last. I am absolutely obsessed with her rich and beautiful world building. The island of Cadence is gorgeous and I loved how she enriched it with Scottish Folklore. I don’t like far from Scotland myself, but I’ve never really looked into, or read much inspired by, Scottish Folklore but Rebecca Ross has inspired me to do so as I just loved everything about this duology. In addition to her stunning worldbuilding, her characterisations are just phenomenal. When I first started reading this series I was certain that Adaira and Jack would be my favourite characters… but then Rebecca hit me with the rough around the edges, marriage of convenience couple that is Torin and Sidra… and they have my whole heart. I absolutely adore them!

A Fire Endless was everything I could have possibly wanted from this final book of the duology. It wrapped everything up perfectly, but still left a hint of openness so we could get more from this world in the future. And my word so I want more of this world in the future. It absolutely stole my heart… I cannot praise this stunning series enough. It has absolutely everything you could want in a fantasy book. I laughed, I cried and I had my heart stolen away by the spirits! If you haven’t read anything by Rebecca Ross before I urge you to… because this series is just absolutely breathtaking!

A Fire Endless by Rebecca Ross - ⭐⭐⭐⭐💫 (4.5 out of 5 stars)

I finished this weeks ago but as usual, my review is very late! The follow up to A River Enchanted, this Celtic-mythology-inspired duology has been a real treat to read, especially in the beautiful Illumicrate versions! ❤️

Bits I liked:
- Fabulous cast of characters with complicated relationships and unique personalities
- Solid world building with an interesting split magic system, emphasising the differences between east and west communities
- Amazing descriptions of the food, cultural dress and magical elements, so things felt vivid and believeable
- Exciting plot, with each book having it's own quest elements and goals, but also an overarching story across the two
- Romance and passion is done well, not cringy or gratuitous (personal preference)

Bits I liked less:
- The pacing had a few issues, mainly towards the very end, where the climax felt sudden & short, and it felt like things wrapped up really fast compared to the rest of the books
- The cast could have been more diverse, as it was all very homogeneous
- It felt like certain fae elements of the story weren't utilised fully, such as Bane or Kae, though they still featured well in the story

They're only small things really, as overall it was a wonderful duology that I thoroughly enjoyed 😊 I highly recommend them both, and I'd be happy to revisit the Isle of Cadence again one day!

Thank you to Netgalley and Harpercollinsuk for the ARC - my opinions are my own, honest and given freely.

All the stars, I give this series all the stars.

The Elements of Cadence has found itself a spot in my favourite series of all time. I adore this folklore filled fantasy with my whole heart. The deep sense of the importance of family, both blood and chosen. The magical, ethereal writing of Ross who wove secrets and magic into a story like Mirin weaves into her plaids. The isle of Cadence lives in my head and heart rent free, always.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC.

I enjoyed this installment slightly better than the last, perhaps because of the more rounded nature of some of that characters. I also liked the fleshing out of the Western culture and the relationship between Adaira and her biological parents. I didn't like the fact that she was essentially renamed without her consent - everyone in the West calls her Cora without seemingly asking her what she'd prefer, and the text still continues to refer to her as Adaira and reverts to that completely by the end, so that was a bit confusing. I did see the twist coming a mile off, but I still enjoyed the ride. An engaging read, but probably not one I'd pick up again.

“You reminded me to breathe— to inhale, to exhale. You reminded me of all the gleaming moments we shared, even if it had just been for a season. You reminded me of what could still be if I was brave enough to reach out and claim it.”

Rebecca Ross has captured my heart; I absolutely loved this gem of a book. A River Enchanted and A Fire Endless have become two of my very favourite books, are my favourite duology of 2022, and will stay with me forever.

A Fire Endless builds on the world, mysteries and plot of A River Enchanted, yet is very much its own book. For the first time, we enter the unknown West of the isle; a very different world and people to that of the East.

This fantasy is full of the same heart and beautiful, lyrical prose as the first book. I loved the Scottish vibes – think Outlander blended with utterly wondrous folktales and fantasy. Entering the world of the West, I enjoyed seeing its new, fascinating, deadlier and more dangerous customs and traditions. I enjoyed seeing the spirit world in this book too.

Protagonists Jack, Adaira, Torin and Sidra were so real and human; they spoke to me, and I have taken them straight into my heart. A different side to them is revealed as they are put in situations outside of their natural strengths. The question is; will they thrive, or indeed, survive? Complicated long-lost family relations only added to a gripping plot.

I heartily recommend A Fire Endless. I would love for Rebecca Ross to write more in this world and I now need to devour her entire back catalogue.
