I really love Mel - she always comes across as so compassionate on MAFS.
This book feels just as compassionate and interesting.
There's a lot to takeaway.

I love how this book includes anecdotes of her life, along with psychology and methodology. Sometimes when a 'celeb' does a book like this it just feels like a autobiography - but with this book the balance is just right.

I first came across Mel in MAFS. She speaks a lot of sense and not scared to have an opinion. I had high hopes for this book.

Having taken time to take this book in it has taught me a lot. The book left me feeling really positive. I loved all the examples, relatable stories. It’s ok to say no to people and the talk about female cycles was so interesting.

I love Mel Schilling, I am a huge MAFS fan and love the insight she can provide. As an individual who struggles with confidence, I definitely couldn’t wait to read this one.

This is a book filled with hints, tips and journal suggestions. I have particularly loved the two week plan suggested in this one. It’s been interesting to trial these activities and see if the advice works.

This is a book that won’t instantly change what you think or feel. However, it does allow reflection on your own thinking around confidence.

Schilling clearly links confidence and courage in a bubble. The book gives a clear link between the two and examples of ways in which changing thinking can be positive to increasing confidence.

The journal activities allow self reflection and get you (the reader) into a mindset of different thinking. Increasing confidence isn’t something that will happen overnight, however self reflection and an awareness of “negative “ thoughts can have an impact.

I have loved some of the affirmations in this book, definitely need to use some in my teacher planner for the tough days. I think this book is fab- reflection and journaling opportunities are rich from this book.

The advice is clear and positive. I love that it isn’t patronising as some books can feel. This is definitely one I’ll be recommending and returning to.

The C Word is jam packed full of advice for growing in confidence. I like how the author brings her own tips and advice by sharing what she has learned in her life and also includes case studies of others. The first part of the book talks a lot about fear and anxiety which I find really useful, especially the journaling exercises. I think for me, there's a lot of information in this book but I find it hard to navigate through on the kindle version. I look forward to picking this book up again in print when I can more easily jump between the different sections. There's definitely lots of useful nuggets of wisdom here, I just find the layout a bit tricky to navigate.
