My mind is still reeling after that ending! Very readable and suspenseful from the beginning to the end. I thought I had guessed the ‘suspects’ but I was fooled. I especially enjoyed the descriptive visuals of Northern Ireland - made me feel like I was back there in the beautiful country! Great read, will be watching for other books from this author! Thank you Net Galley and the publisher for the ARC for a honest feedback.

The Couple at Causeway Cottage gripped me from the first few pages. I loved the idea of the remote island and found storyline addictive. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and although I guessed a few twists and found the ending a little far fetched It didn't detract from how much I loved reading it. 4.5 stars..

Kat and Mark move from London to a cottage in Northern Ireland to get a new start and to start a new family. As the story goes on, there are so many dark secrets hanging over both of them and with the friends they meet there. I found it a little hard to follow at times with some repetitive sections with Kat, and even a little soap opera feeling. I finished reading it, and did find the twist toward the end the most exciting part of the book. Thank you Net Galley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this and submit my honest opinion with this review.

Loved the sound of this but sadly didn't live up to expectations. Promising start but then dragged. Gradually became more and more far fetched until the ending which was well, bizarre. Some plot errors that need correcting before publication. Didn't help that the main character was whingy and self obsessed.
Found in a hotel library and read by the pool would be entertaining but not the greatest read, sadly

Great story. Loved the location as I am local to the area where it is set.
Twisted and intertwined keeps you guessing right throughout.
Great ending too.

Kat and Mark move to a small island. It is a hard adjustment for both of them. It is hard to make friends but Kat certainly does try.
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC and to HarperCollins for publishing.

Very quickly in this story, you think you know what is going on in Kat's past, that is inpinging on her now. But all is not what it seems, As you get caught up in red herrings, you suspect different people of various crimes, only to find out it was all a slight of hand. Probably because you get caught up in the charm of the Irish island and it's locals (truly, it sounds like some place you want to go visit!)! This is a roller coaster towards the end, with a surprise ending that will make you go back a few chapters and see what clues you missed. Don't miss this one (and the ebook is only $2.49 right now on Amazon!)

This was quite a captivating story, that I had a hard time putting down. Very cleverly written & suspenseful. Some themes might be a bit heavy for some, but overall, interesting story.

Overall a good well written read, took me a while to get into the storyline and the characters and not an edge of seater for me unfortunately.

Thank you to Netgalley and HQ Digital for this ARC.

I wasn’t sure how to feel after finishing this book. There wasn’t anything I particularly disliked but equally, I wasn’t excited by it either.
The author has a beautiful way with their descriptive details. The atmosphere and imagery they created really gave me a sense of the setting and immersed me in the story.
The plot itself was ok and well written, it just didn’t have the extra oomph. That element of surprise or that plot twist or something….. I just can’t quite put my finger on it.
I would recommend this though, as an enjoyable, summer read, that doesn’t need a lot of concentration it’s perfect.
3.5/5 stars
Thanks to the author, the publisher and Netgalley for my arc.

Kat and Mark have bought a cottage in his old hometown, where Kat visited in her teenage years. As they settle in, Mark seems to hate her new friends, and is very secretive. Then she finds he has been in contact with his ex wife, but doesn't know what is going on.
As the story unfolds, both Kat and Mark have secrets which need to be revealed, and so do her new friends.
A great book with wonderful descriptions and lots of suspense. You don't know who is telling the truth, and where it will all lead!
A truly surprising ending and a great thriller read! Excellent!

This was an easy entertaining read, something that I would expect to see in Kindle Unlimited or a 99p deal. Its a quick read and has a few twists, that unfortunately I guessed very early on. I loved the setting but I failed to engage with any of the main characters and the ending was totally unbelievable and bizarre, and feels very rushed and unfinished. I give this book 2.5 stars rounded up the 3 stars.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for the advance review copy.

Want to go to Northern Ireland in a split second? Read this book! I could smell the sea salt! The description of the setting really pulls you in— from landmarks to native wildlife! This book is believable, not too far fetched. This book keeps you entertained and while there are a lot of moving pieces everything is wrapped up nicely in the end. I even chuckled a few times! Really good book.

I really enjoyed this book! I loved the author’s writing style, it flowed well and was easy to follow.

I loved the twists and turns in this book, even though most were guessed. It still had a great premise! The ending was my favorite. I definitely was not expecting Kat to do that!

The book definitely had you feeling claustrophobic with Kat. Stuck on an island with someone from her past and with her husband whom she didn’t trust.

This book did take a bit long to read, and there were parts that could have been shortened, but all in all a great read!!!

The Couple at Causeway Cottage felt like a cozy thriller. A family on the run and ending up on an island is a solid premise and made for an enjoyable read. AS a domestic thriller, the pace was steady but it wasn't until after the 1/2 way point that things started picking up.

The writing is good and I enjoyed the book. I would definitely read another book by Diane Jeffrey.

One of the main draws to this book is certainly the setting. The author does a good job of crreating the sense of being there on the island. Taking place in the winter creates some wonderful dramatic images. Certainly a dramatic ending I was not quite expecting with an interesting cliffhanger.

Creepy right from the start. Interesting setting. Writing and dialogue is not bad. But...it's always hard to pin down what makes a book less than engrossing for me. That ending was really something though - totally unexpected for me.

This is my first time reading a novel by Diane Jeffrey. The story deals with a young couple, Kat and Mark Jeffrey, who recently purchased a cottage in Northern Island. Like any married couple they have had some challenges. Unfortunately they are constantly keeping secrets from each other, and they both lie constantly. Some lies are “little white one” but some are not. There is a good story line here with drama and suspense. I found that I was able to figure out a few mysteries myself before the ending. Sometimes the main character, Kat, made assumptions and decisions that I found a bit hard to believe. She never seemed to listen to her gut feelings. I did enjoy the book despite my above mentioned personal observations. I received an ARC from the publisher and Netgalley. My review is unbiased.

I really enjoyed this read it was a dark and atmospheric read that had perfect pacing that kept increasing as plot tension increased. Twisty, unpredictable and kept me on the edge of my seat.

I really enjoyed this book. Great atmosphere (Rathlin Island in Northern Ireland), great suspense (it starts slowly but gets intense), great mystery (I had no idea where it was going and was genuinely surprised by the ending). The secret at the center of the book is quite complex and disturbing. Highly recommend this for those who love mystery/suspense and atmospheric novels. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC!
