When Millie surprises her fiancé with the news of pregnancy, things don't go as she planned. The life they should be building together crumbles down around her feet. Harry doesn't want kids and wasn't man enough to tell her. Not ever expecting pregnancy, Harry does a lot of blaming, guilting, and attempting to convince Millie of alternate options. Having had enough, the only thing Millie terminates is her relationship with Harry.
Fast-forward eight months and Millie is on her way to Isle of Skye for her best friend's upcoming wedding. Jules is getting married Christmas Eve and, pregnant or not, Millie wouldn't miss the celebration for the world. She stays in a cottage with Jules' brother Dexter and acclimates to her new, but temporary lifestyle. One away from her ex, his family, and her life, where Millie still tries to come to terms with being a single mom.
Harry's unexpected phone call has her twisted up in knots. She wonders if she did the right thing by leaving Harry. His sudden persistence has Millie second-guessing all the decisions she's made since the day she announced her pregnancy. Now she's wondering if second chances are possible or if she should move on from Harry.
Together Under a Snowy Skye is an emotionally-rich holiday novel. The characters are well-written, 3-dimensional, and complex. I enjoyed Millie and the way the author portrayed her character. She is sensitive, loving, strong, and determined. She is emotional, self-doubting, and scared. I love how she gets into Glentorrin and fits right in with all of Jules' friends.
I enjoyed the author's writing style, the story she told, and how everything came together. I was pulled into the story from the beginning and kept thoroughly engaged. The author wove a masterpiece together, filled with romance, love, anxious moments, tenderness, frustration, and disbelieve. I was captivated by this wonderful story. This is my first novel by Lisa Hobman and it won't be my last.
If you're looking for a cute, heartwarming festive read then this might be a nice option for you!
Millie goes to Gentorrin for her best friend's wedding and it couldn't have come at a better time as right now she needs her friend more than ever... At the wedding she meets Dexter, a complete sweetheart with a fun easy going nature, his kindness gave the story that cute festive factor! At times it was a sad read, but I think that just made it that much more believable. On the whole I enjoyed this one - was it ground breaking no, but did it do what it set out to do? I'd say so!
Plus I loved the representation of Polycystic ovaries and the discussion around being undiagnosed - this is something so many women go through and because there's still so far to go in open conversations about periods it's sadly still so common that women, non-binary people and trans men go years, or their whole life without knowing. So I was so happy to see how well it was written seamlessly into this beautiful tale.
What a fabulous cosy read. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Perfect easy read for long winter nights.
I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide me review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.
Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.
However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x
I really liked this book. Millie travels to the Isle of Skye for her best friends wedding. However she is heavily pregnant and the father wants nothing to do with the baby. Millie has accepted she will be a single mom and plans to be the best single mom she can be.
Dexter is Millie's best friends brother and is overprotective over Millie. Millie boards with Dexter leading up to the wedding and a relationship begins to bud.
This was a quick read and was a cute story.
A brilliant read, set in Glentorrin on the Isle of Skye. Millie ends up pregnant and alone. Returning to Glentorrin for her best friends wedding. Here she stays with her best friend Jules brother, Dexter and Nigel the dog !
The plot thickens with plenty of twists and turns including the return of the babies father.
An amazing book which I can highly recommend

This lovely story starts with a surprise twist about an unplanned pregnancy. The action soon moves to a lovely village in the isle of Skye, with descriptions of the area that make the reader want to experience a traditional Christmas there. The characters are credible with a background of very good, long-lasting friendships, and family members who are difficult to say the least. It was good to read a chick lit - style novel that has such an interesting story, I enjoyed every page. It's a perfect read at Christmas!
A brilliant read and one I really enjoyed. The characters are loveable and varied, the plot is one that is engaging and medium paced. I found myself completely drawn into the story and enjoyed the writing style.
Oh wow, what a book!!!!! This one is so so good, so intense, such a page-turner! This book is about Millie who is heavily pregnant and single. The father of the baby has decided that he didn't want to have anything to do with the baby. Millie is spending the last weeks of her pregnancy with her best friends. She is staying at the place of her male best friend and suddenly she is questionning her friendship with him. Could there be more than friendship between them? Oh this is such a sweet story! I loved it so so much! One of the main male character Dexter is to die for! I would love to have a partner like him!!! Girls, if you are looking for a sweet, yet intense story, this is the book you should read! I gave it 5 stars! It deserves even more!!!
Millie Treadaway is happily engaged to be married and is thrilled to find out she is pregnant. When she shares her happy news with her fiancé, he does not react as she expected. Harry Rose does not want his life upended with a child, so to "fix the problem" expects her to "get rid of it". Millie refuses and packs up to head home to the small village where she spent time with her best friend while in college, Glentorrin on the Isle of Skye. With nowhere to stay, her BFF, Jules organizes for her to stay at Lifeboat Cottage with Jules' brother, kindhearted Dexter. Millie had a bit of a crush on Dexter when they were younger and those feelings are still there, buried. Millie begins to notice more and more about Dexter, especially how kind he is, and Dexter definitely has feelings for Millie. Will they finally realize how they feel about each other, or will Millie make the wrong decision?
I really loved the setting of this book. I have never been to the Isle of Skye, but it is on my list of places to go. The small town with its wonderful characters, and a cute jack russell that she rescues stole my heart. Being pregnant and with her relationship with Harry being what it is, Millie was an emotional mess. She kept changing her mind about what she wanted and was worried about what was "right" and not what would make her and her child happy. I enjoyed the way Lisa Hobman developed the relationship between Dexter and Millie and how Millie was finally able to grow a backbone and stand up for herself. Nigel, the rescue dog, was wonderful. I have heard about animals used to warn people about upcoming episodes and Nigel does a great job protecting Millie and her unborn child. Overall, this was a sweet Christmas story. There were festivities, friendships, character development and of course a wonderful happily ever after. One I recommend.
Wonderful Christmas read. Lots of great characters and in a lovely setting. The story flowed well including lots of threads of stories coming into it. Feel good story

Lisa Hobman’s Together Under a Snowy Skye is an enchanting escape romantics everywhere will love.
At long last, Millie Treadaway has finally found the happiness that had been missing from her life for so long. After the agony of unrequired love, Millie has met the man of her dreams. Harry Rose is charming, handsome and worships the ground she walks on. The more time Millie spends with him, the more she is convinced that Harry is the one, so when she decides to present him with a surprise birthday gift that will bind them together forever, Millie is sure that her happiness will be complete – until she realises that she doesn’t know Harry as well as she thought and she ends up broken-hearted, devastated and alone. What is Millie going to do now?
Eight months later, Millie is single, pregnant and looking at a very uncertain future. Returning to Glentorrin on the Isle of Skye for her best friend’s wedding, Millie isn’t exactly in the right frame of mind for celebrating. With her heart having been shattered into a million pieces, Millie’s focus is on her child and she plans to give her baby the best possible start in life. With her whole world in upheaval, romance is the very last thing on her mind – even though she finds herself drawn to her best friend’s brother, Dexter. Will the Isle of Skye work its magic for Millie and Dexter? Or should Millie resign herself to the fact that a happy ending is not on the cards for her?
When a phone call from Harry threatens to derail all of the plans she had made for the future, Millie finds herself at a crossroads. Will she end up giving Harry a second chance? Or should she stop looking backwards and start looking at spending the rest of her life in Glentorrin – with Dexter…

This was such a wonderful story. I loved every second of this book. I really couldn't put it down so I read it in a morning. It was such an amazing story-line that it just drew me in and trapped me under its spell. It will take you on a wonderful journey. The story was shocking at the start but it lead to to a wonderful heartwarming story. The author did an amazing job at writing this book she created such an wonderful sense of atmosphere that I was at the edge of my seat at times. I even found myself saying out loud NO! Don't do it. Thank goodness I was at home this time. I was certainly emotionally invested in this story. The characters were fantastic so easy to love or hatein a certain case. They were realistic and relatable. What I loved the most was the great sense of Christmas that this book held it felt perfect in every way. I really can't recommend this book enough as it has everything you could wish for in a great Christmas novel. I'm sure romance and Woman's fiction lovers will love it too.
Only the highest of praise goes out to the author and publishers for creating such a perfect novel that took me on a fantastic journey. I will definitely be looking out for more books by this brilliant author.

Millie and Harry are deeply in love, that is until they're faced with a surprise pregnancy. Harry threatens Millie, it's either him or the baby, Millie chooses the baby.
Eight months later a heavily pregnant Millie arrives on the Isle of Skye for her best friend, Jules', Christmas Eve wedding. Here she stays with Jules'. Brother Dex where she receives more care and attention than she ever got from Harry.
Millie has a lot of thinking to do and a lot of choices to make.
A perfect holiday romance.
Good read. Great characters, enjoyed the setting, lots of side stories weaved into it and it flowed really well. A good read for a rubbish day. Will make you feel better!
Lisa Hobman's village of Glentorrin, on the Isle of Skye, has become one of my favorite places to visit. She's created a warm, welcoming atmosphere in this close-knit village with characters I want to be friends with. Her books are so immersive that I can easily visualize myself strolling the streets, popping into the shops, and chatting over tea and biscuits with locals. I love that with each new book I get to catch up with characters from earlier books while meeting new ones who excel in capturing a place for themselves in my affections.
Parts of Millie's journey in this book were heartbreaking and emotional but they were tempered by the humor, hope, and unconditional support she found in Glentorrin, especially from her best friend Jules and Jules' brother, Dexter. And, of course, Nigel (the dog). Can't forget about him!
As for Millie's journey of the heart, I was Team Dex all the way. What a sweet, kind, steadfast, wonderful man. I adored him and wanted Dex and Millie to adore each other. But life is messy and in true Hobman fashion, there are more than a few twists and turns - and other characters - who throw up obstacles along the way, not the least of which being Harry. It's a complex, and complicated, situation but, rest assured, everything works out the way it's meant to. Of course, you won't know which way that is until you read the book. ;-)
If you enjoy charming, heartfelt, romantic stories set in a cozy Scottish village with well-developed characters, relatable storylines, and well-earned happy endings, I recommend booking a (reading) trip to Glentorrin and Together Under a Snowy Skye. While there are earlier books in the series and continuing characters who appear in this one, readers new to the series should have no trouble beginning with Millie's story.
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This is a wonderful Christmas novel. I enjoyed it from start to finish.
I loved returning to the Isle of Skye to catch up with some familiar settings and characters. It's really comforting to see how certain people's lives have panned out, catch up with Jules and to get to know Dexter a little more. Millie is a lovely character who you are willing her on. Treated shabbily by Harry, you just hope that she will figure out what or who will make her happy. The community pf Glentorrin gather to support her and you can totally believe in her reaction to village life.
This is one of those books which will ease you in nicely to some winter reading. Full of romance and with some festive touches, it makes you look forward to the darker nights without being full on Christmassy. Any book with a delightful canine friend gets a vote from me. Full of friendship and family values, this is a great read to escape into.
In short: A welcome return to Glentorrin

Millie never expect to be pregnant neither is she expect to be a single mum. All because her partner doesn’t want a child. Either she terminate the pregnancy or she resign to be a single mum. And she choose the latter. Despite her heartbreak; she return to Lifeboat Cottage to attend Jules’ wedding and met up with Jules’ brother Dexter.
There are some scene which are so heartfelt and full of emotion which make it more enjoyable as I watched the main character developed. The story is complex yet heart warming and kept me engaged from cover to cover. It is a story about family relationship and friendship and overall, a delightful read for me.
