Together Under a Snowy Skye made my heart flutter! This a captivating romance, featuring two very endearing characters, Millie and Dex! I haven’t read the other books in this series, and it’s a great standalone—but now I want to go read them all!

I love the books I've read so far of Lisa's and couldn't wait to get stuck into this one.

Beautifully written, heartwarming and an absolute delight to lose myself in for several hours.

A delightful romance, full of joy, friendship and a happy ever after.

There's nothing to dislike about the beauty of Skye and coupled with snow it was the picture perfect Christmas card image.

Along with some gorgeous characters, a captivating storyline and everything Christmas, there was absolutely nothing to dislike about the book and I loved every minute I spent back in Glentorrin.

Many thanks to Rachel's Random Resources for my tour spot.

Lisa Hobman is becoming one of my favorite authors. There's just something about her characters that's so unapologetically real. In this book we return to Glentorrin for Jules and Reid's wedding. Millie, Jules best friend, heavily pregnant and heartbroken after her fiancée Harry broke up with her. She stays in Jules' brother Dexter's cabin in the weeks leading up to the wedding and he's just as attentive, caring, and such a good friend as she's remembers. But as much as she's wishes it were different, they'll only ever be good friends. Then Harry calls wanting a second chance and she has to choose between stability for her child and her own happiness.
Harry is such a horrible character and in comparison Dexter just seems even better. I loved revisiting this small town and the characters from the other books in the series. I was so hoping for a happy ending for Dexter since he appeared in Jules book.
I received an advance reader copy of this book. The views and opinions expressed in this review are completely my own and given voluntarily.

Millie has been with Harry a while so, when she makes him his favourite meal for his birthday and hands him a gift wrapped pregnancy test she expects him to be over the moon. However, his shocked reaction and subsequent ultimatum makes Millie realise that he may not be the man she thought he was.
Fast forward 6 months and a single and very heavily pregnant Millie is travelling to Glentorrin for her best friends wedding (Juliette -Jules). Staying there for a few weeks before the wedding with Dex -(brother of Jules) to enjoy the pre-Christmas celebrations and be involved in the wedding preparations, she starts to feel that maybe her life back home will be very difficult and lonely as a single mum. Surrounded by friends ,her first unrequited love and a gorgeous Jack Russell called Nigel she feels happy in Glentorrin, until Harry turns up to confuse her just when she had gotten over him. Will she return to London with Harry or could she stay and follow her heart. Absolutely beautifully written, very relatable characters -who like real people make mistakes. Really enjoyed this festive read.

Thank you #netgalley, #boldwooodpublishing and #rachelsrandomresources for allowing me to read this book.
I have to admit it was a difficult but rewarding read for me, there were so so many similarities between myself and the main character Millie that it was quite spooky. Its such a good book, funny and encouraging. We can get through anything with the love and help of our friends and those who believe in us.
Lovely to have old characters reappear and all those cute dogs. A recommended, laugh out loud read with some fabulous songs in it too.

Yet another gorgeous book by Lisa Hobman. It seemed strange reading a Christmas book in the height of summer, but this has to be Lisa's best book yet.

Millie Treadaway has recently discovered that she is pregnant by her fiancé, Harry Rose. When she tells him, he is furious as he does not want children and demands that she have an abortion. They then break up because Millie realizes she has a medical condition which means this might be the only baby she can have.

With a month or so before delivery, Millie is heading to Scotland for the Christmas Eve wedding of her good friends, Jules and Reid. They have been very close since university days. She will be staying with Jules’s brother, Dexter, with whom she has been friends for years.

The snow in Scotland is heavy and Millie is enjoying her stay. Dexter is cooking good food for her and she finds herself sleeping a lot. But when she sees a small dog outside, she enlists Dexter to bring him inside. Turns out the owner passed away and the dog, Nigel, was loose without food or shelter. Now, Millie is insisting that they keep him.

Millie is enjoying being with her friends and is realizing how much she truly cares for Dexter and she always has. But, another young woman is pursuing him and confesses to Millie that she thinks she can change him. This really angers her because she thinks Dexter is perfect as he is. Yet, she is soon to be a single mother and has no say-so in his life as she will be returning home after the wedding. But, what if that’s not what fate has in store for her?

What a totally delightful, wholesome, warm story this is. It’s all about close family and friends. My first time reading this author’s books and I certainly look forward to more. Enjoy this one!

This is my sixth book by Lisa Hobman and I've loved all of them. That's basically why I keep looking out for her new releases and read them avidly.
Together Under a Snowy Skye made no exception, with the pluses of going back to Glentorrin and the Christmassy atmosphere. As with the other instalments of the series, this, as well, can be read as a stand-alone, but beware, you won't resist going back and read the previous ones as they're so lovely and enjoyable!

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for this ARC.

This melted my heart faster than the snow thawed in the sunshine of Skye.
Lisa's beautiful description of the build up to Christmas and a Christmas Eve Wedding on the Isle of Skye had me transported there and I could feel the crisp, cold bite of Winter even in the midst of high Summer.
This book has all the ingredients for a perfect Christmas Romance - abandoned mother with child, unrequited love, beautiful friendships and a wonderfully supportive community. Oh and of course, the addition of Nigel the Wonder Dog! I read it in the time it takes Santa to deliver all his presents, just one night, as I couldn't put it down.

Together Under a Snowy Skye is the perfect Christmas book to read this holiday season.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! I love it when Christmas ARCs start coming our way because it means that fall and the holiday season are just around the corner. All I have to say is that my first Christmas book of the year charmed my snowman socks right off my feet. It was just utter holiday perfection. The pacing and flow of this story are similar to Hallmark-style movies. There is just the right amount of relationship drama, quirky townsfolk, and a fabulous wedding to keep readers entertained.

Fans of Lisa’s other books will be happy to hear that there are plenty of cameos from characters from her previous books. These characters, plus a cast of new ones, create an endearing, fun ensemble that fits perfectly with the story. Millie is sweet and just so relatable. Reader’s hearts will go out to Millie as she struggles with the decision to keep or abort her baby. I felt that Lisa did a fantastic job at addressing the issue of abortion. She showed readers how difficult it is for women who have to make that decision. I also loved that this topic didn’t consume the whole story. Once Millie decided to keep her baby, that was it, and the story moved on.

One of the reasons why I love romances so much is because of the amazing friendships that exist within their stories. Millie has two fabulous best friends, Jules and Dexter. The interactions between these friends are heartwarming and full of understanding, laughter, and the knowledge that they have each other’s backs. Their friendship felt like they have an unshakable foundation.

The romance in this book is like a lopsided square, LOL. I shall explain what I mean: Millie has two love interests in this story. At the story’s beginning, Millie and Harry are engaged, but they split up because Harry doesn’t want to keep the baby. After their breakup, we don’t hear from Harry until near the end of the book. Dexter, who is the other love interest, lives in Scotland and has been one of Millie’s closest friends since uni. Both characters have a secret crush on each other but are too afraid to say anything because they don’t want to wreck their friendship. These two are adorable, and Dexter is the sweetest boyfriend ever. The other love interest in this square is Isla, who has a crush on Dexter, and they kind of start dating in this story. But Dexter is not really into Isla. With all these different love interests floating around in this book, you’d think that the story would be muddled with relationships. But it isn’t. Lisa did a great job just putting enough drama in the plot to keep it interesting and help move the story along.

Together Under a Snowy Skye is an enchanting Christmas love story.

Thank you, Boldwood Books and Rachel Random Resources, for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

It's always challenging reading festive stories in late summer, but this one is so good I forgot the warmth and the sunshine and got lost in Millie's emotional story. It begins in London with a birthday surprise for Harry, Millie's boyfriend. He reveals a side of him she never knew and makes her question her future. There are flashbacks to their first meeting and how she became best friends with Jules and Dex, and then the story moves to Skye close to Christmas when she travels there pregnant and alone for Jules'wedding.

Followers of this series will happily catch up with familiar characters as I did, but the story is complete, and it's not necessary to read the previous books, although they are too good to miss.

I love the heartwarming friendship and sense of community this novel delivers in contrast to Millie's heartbreaking life choices. The setting is immersive and festive, and there is a lovely mix of humour, poignancy and romance. Millie and Dex are easy to like, although some of her decisions frustrated me. Harry is immature and selfish and so easy to dislike.

The plot, driven by the complex characters, has dramatic moments and the final chapters are magically romantic.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher.

Yet another adorable trip to Skye!
And another gorgeous book boyfriend to add to my growing collection with the awesome Dexter!
A riveting story that instantly caught my attention, the connection between Millie and Dexter was so wonderful and it really warmed my heart to see them reconnect once more.
Always such a lovely community to visit, catching up with characters from previous books and especially great to attend a Christmas wedding too!
A super cute dog added to the mix made this a perfect read!
Already looking forward to the next book!

Lisa Hobman wrote an unsuspected gem of a book in Together Under A Snowy Skye.
Millie finds out she is pregnant and is excited to share the amazing news with her long-term boyfriend, Harry. One thing that would be useful is a content warning regarding pregnancy issues and discussions of termination, especially due to the heroine's boyfriend being very manipulative and toxic about her pregnancy. Obviously, the author wanted to convey a negative reaction from her boyfriend but I feel this may be slightly triggering for anyone who's been in a similar situation.
Once Millie removes herself from her toxic relationship we jump forward six months to her travelling to Scotland for her best friend's wedding. Although it is difficult and daunting, she is excited to become a mother, regardless of her relationship with Harry.
From then on, Millie seems to become more confident and comfortable in her routine.
By the end of the book, an obvious romantic connection is made between long-time friends Millie and Dexter although neither will admit to this.
Harry is back on the scene, completely ignoring his unborn child and is desperate to get Millie and only her back. He is so persistent he turns up at Jules (Millie's best friend) and Reid's wedding - uninvited of course smelling of alcohol and being quite aggressive actually.
Dexter tried to tell Millie that she and her baby deserve so much more but, she find herself inclined to return with her baby to the Cotswolds with Harry, regardless of him calling their daughter 'it' multiple times and wanting to ship her off to boarding schools and nannies as soon as she's old enough. I think this is the time Millie finally realises that Harry does not care about their daughter at all and confesses her love for Dexter to Jules. Once reunited Dexter takes on the fantastic role of the baby's father and they live happily ever after.
I really enjoyed this book, The stunning imagery and perfectly written self-discovery of Millie made a perfect festive read.
Thanks so much NetGalley and Boldwood Books!

I was satisfyingly transported to the Isle of Skye in a tender story of betrayal, friendship and love. The Isle of Skye has always been of interest to me and Lisa Hobman enmeshed me in the land and the lives of the people there. 'Together Under a Snowy Skye' has all of the depth one could want in a story laced with humor and love. I highly recommend it.

Blurb

After the heartbreak of a secret unrequited love, Millie Treadaway has finally found someone to spend her life with.

Harry Rose is handsome, successful and treats her like a princess. That is until Millie presents her fiancé with a surprise birthday gift, and their future is suddenly doomed.

Eight months later Millie returns to Glentorrin on the Isle of Skye for her best friend Jules' Christmas wedding. Heartbroken, single and heavily pregnant.

Staying in Lifeboat Cottage with Jules' brother, kindhearted Dexter, she's given up on love and resigned herself to be the best single Mum ever.
But a shock phone call from Harry leaves her reeling and doubting herself and her decisions.

My Opinion

Another lovely Lisa Hobman book even if it does get off to a bit of a risky start with some sensitive topics being mentioned (abortion, infertility). A heart-warming tale, with a second chance romance and a lot of community spirit. This is the first book I have read in this series but it worked well as a standalone novel.

A Christmas novel with a predictable ending - this is something I have now grown to expect and I think that this adds to the enjoyment. Lisa Hobman has written an uplifting book filled with positivity. Snow is falling in Scotland, and this will leave you warmth that only a nice festive book can bring.

This is the latest instalment in Lisa Hobman's series set in the fictional village of Glentorrin, on the Isle of Skye. I haven't read any others in the series yet, but this in no way detracts from this as a standalone book.
An easy, Christmassy read.

We get taken on an emotional roller coaster. When a surprise birthday gift turns into a very big surprise indeed the results are not what Millie had intended and it leads to her doomed romance with Harry. Now in my opinion Harry is the worst type of guy imaginable. Given this type of news that you may not be expecting you pull yourself up by the bootstraps and do all you can for your partner. I would have ditched Harry too.
When she goes away after the breakup she has resigned herself to being a single mom.
After meeting Dexter he tries to convince her she deserves so much more than life has thrown her way. Will she take Dexter's advice and give love the chance it deserves or is she going to be lonely for life? Heartwarming you'll be cheering Millie the whole way.

This is another instalment in Lisa’s fabulous series set in the fictional village of Glentorrin, on the Isle of Skye. As there have already been a few books in this series, it’s always nice to catch up with the fantastic residents and see what they are getting up to.
I must admit that I felt that this series has now come full circle, as the story brings us back to Jules and Reid, who we met in the first book. We also catch up with Jules’ brother, Dexter. He’s a lovable bear of a man who shows nothing but kindness and seems to shy away from romantic connections.
I felt every ounce of Millie’s heartbreak as Harry Rose treated her with such contempt after she revealed the news that she thought would have made him ecstatically happy. The story then follows Millie as she adjusts to her new life and we learn the depth of the relationship Millie shares with her best friend, Jules.
Despite her heartbreak and almost full-term pregnancy, Millie returns to Glentorrin so that she can attend Jules’ marriage to Reid and renew her friendship with Dexter. It’s in this magical village that Millie feels able to look to the future, until Harry appears, offering her everything she ever wanted.
Once again, I found myself transported to Skye and feeling a genuine warmth from catching up with the characters that I have grown to love. Even a special nod went out to Greg, who still doesn’t appreciate people singing along. He is a legacy character, who crosses over from a previous series. It’s this attention to detail that contributes to the warmth of Lisa’s stories.
Millie is a terrific character, and her past was presented with such a gentle hand, it was impossible not to feel real affection for her. I make no secret of having loved Dexter from when he was first introduced to Glentorrin, and it was wonderful to see him finally taking the lead.
Despite Millie’s desperate situation and definite emotional conflict, there is still a lightness to this story. An uplifting sensation which comes from a perfectly constructed ending which ticked all the right boxes.
I cannot recommend this book and the whole series enough. I’m hoping that it’s not my last trip to Glentorrin, but if it is, I’m already looking forward to my next adventure.

Thanks to the publishers and Netgalley for an advance copy of this book in exchange for a review.

This is the latest in a series of books set on Skye but I have not read any of the others and that in no way detracted from my enjoyment at reading this book.

Lovely, easy to read Christmassy book.

Together Under a Snowy Skye is Lisa's latest novel in the Skye series; whilst it can be read as a standalone, you get the whole picture reading the series. This time, the focus is on Millie and Harry who live in London's Notting Hill and both had good jobs. When Millie give Harry a surprise birthday gift, it doesn't go down well at all. Can Millie then things around? Who knows (well I do cos I've finished the book haha). Harry is a self-indulgent, self-absorbed person who has treated Millie wonderfully until now. Millie is a friendly, devoted, strong woman who loves Harry and her friends who live on the Isle of Skye. Visiting them for Jules and Reids wedding at Christmas is very eyes opening for Mille; can she salvage her relationship with Harry following the birth of her baby? Highly recommended.
