Cute…this was very, very cute. I would have enjoyed a little more spice to the story. While I enjoyed the main character, I also found her slightly hard to feel a connection to.

For a supposed romcom, this was ok. Just ok. I didnt felt the chemistry between the main characters and I think in this type of book thats the main thing that either makes it or breaks it. The story felt unreal enough to be entertaining, but I never felt the excitement i usually expect from the genre.

I tried to like this book...I really did. I did not feel the connection between Ed and Charley whatsoever. I was so excited about the premise of this book! A groom left at the altar spending time with a complete stranger just for funsies. It was so unserious, but it was also extremely boring. I kept having to force myself to keep picking the book up.

Felt this one was not as enjoyable as I had hoped it to be. The character development felt a little lacking and it was not my usual cup of tea. The second half of the book was significantly better than the first. Overall, I am glad I read it and am thankful for the book however I would not jump at the chance to read it again.

Charley finds herself unexpectedly single on Christmas Day of all times. Packed up and moved back to her parents at her big age. Oh the joys!

A chance encounter leads Charley to meet Ed. Ed is on honeymoon, on his own. He was jilted at the alter by a bride he never met.

Straight away there is chemistry between Charley and Ed however when back in to ‘real’ world outside of vacation date intervenes and forces them apart.

Can they find their way back to each other?

This is a fabulous romance and if you love island vibes, then you’ll love this gorgeous romance.

This book is so charming! It’s great to find a new author that I love! Her female protagonist was fun and relatable, without some of the common pitfalls.

I’m not sure how I feel about this one still. I liked it while I was reading it but I found it very forgettable. I did really like the characters and the story line.

This was a light fun read that I’d probably recommend if someone wants an easy read. I just felt like there could have been something more to the characters.

This is the second book of Phoebe McLeod's I have read, and while l lliked the first one I read (the one where she is trying to get a café off the ground and falls in over with the chef) , I liked this one better. I think it gas something to do with preferring to read about tropical holidays than greasy spoon diners.

The characters are fun, nice to hang with. The plots tend to be ‐so far--formulaic. They meet, fall in love, have great sex, a misunderstanding separates them, but it all gets straightened our abdcthey live happily ever after.
But, you know what? Sometimes a happily ever after is just what you need.

Book Rating: 3.5

- One POV

After ten years into a relationship, Charley decides to take a break on Christmas Day, only to realize when packing that her boyfriend is cheating on her. In her efforts to reconstruct her life, Charley decides to travel to Antigua with her parents with all expenses paid, who can say no to that?

Things I enjoyed:
- Charley was a very likable and funny character
- Loved seeing the journey to self-discovery and growth at the beginning of the book and how Charley started to reconstruct herself.
- I enjoyed some of the humor with Charley at the beginning of the book.

Things I did not enjoy:
- I didn’t feel the connection and romance between the main characters. I felt like they lacked depth in their interactions and it was mostly superficial.
- The beginning of the book was so extended and focused on Charley rebuilding herself that contrary to the time in Antigua, from when they meet each other to moving to the next intimate level to Ed leaving the island was rushed. It didn’t get to the honeymoon part until almost 50% of the book.

A very cute easy read romcom. If you like Portia Macintosh and Sophie Kinsella you will like this novel. It is only 5/6 hours so a perfect weekend read.
I liked all the characters and I loved the main male and female lead. They were very cute together. Highly recommend. I would read from this author again. I love the cover also

Just not for me honestly. I still enjoyed the read but couldn’t get over the blah storyline. Cutest cover but what’s between didn’t work for me.

Also, more know your boo info coming at you in this review: unless explicitly asked for, a toothbrush is not an acceptable gift for your significant other unless you want them to be your next ex.

I really enjoyed this one, mostly because I found Charley so relatable. Some of my favorite scenes are at the beginning when she's dealing with her crunchy ex boyfriend. I loved her dynamic with her family too. The romance was just ok, I didn't feel the chemistry as much as I hoped. Definitely a great beach read!

It is a fun, light flirty story. A bit boring for my liking. The reality TV show touch was pretty fun.
