This is just the sort of book to read by the pool this summer, a light hearted novel that progresses just the way you expect. It starts with a funny description of Charlotte and her insufferable boyfriend spending Christmas morning together. After opening his extremely lame gift of an ecologically sourced toothbrush Charlotte discovers he is having an affair with a coworker. She moves back to her parents and embarks on an island vacation with them. It takes about 40 % of the book for the romance part and, for me, that part is fairly underwhelming. I didn’t find the kind of connection that made me want to quickly see where the story goes. Hence, an easy pool read. For the most part the romance in this book takes place behind closed doors so is a good choice for readers who want their sex scenes out of sight.
This really is a lovely summer read 👌
It was super cute with alot of fun and laughter thrown in and I enjoyed it.
My one little niggle was the beginning did kind of drag abit. But once they actually got on vacation, the story picked up pace and was alot better.
I absolutely loved Charleys parents! Her dad especially made me giggle and there's a scene in here where she's sharing the room next to theirs, and let's just say, I could not stop giggling at the horror of what she was hearing coming from there 😂 It was brilliant!
Charley and Ed had good chemistry and I'm glad she found someone who accepted her for who she was, and didn't buy her a toothbrush for christmas! 😂😂
Someone Else's Honeymoon was a light, easy read, that I'm going to give 3.5 stars too.
Yes, yes, yes !!!
I’m not sure a huge fan of friends to lovers or second chance at love but this book made me change my mind.
A woman who needs a level up in her life, after her long term boyfriend cheated on her, and a man who entered a program of “marry before meet” , but who’s been left before the weeding could even take place.
They find each other during what was supposed to be his honeymoon and sparks fly but … where will they lead them?
I enjoyed this book very much.
The changes Charlie experiences in her life are all part of an healing process that will lead her to a better knowledge of her own self and her needs.
And I absolutely loved how Ed turned out into all of this.
Their relationship is not about him picking up the pieces of a broken woman.
It is all about two people that find love through each other not out of need but out of pure luck.
I really liked this book and I’m very glad I had the chance to experience it!
A lot of my reviews are based on how fast I can read a book. Not in a "I'm trudging through and want to get this over with" but in a "I love these characters and have to see what happens to them."
That's how I felt about Charley and Ed - I just had to see how their story ends.
I thought the first half of the book was a bit slow. They aren't even introduced to each other until about 40 percent in. Then the pace picked up.
I enjoyed seeing Charley basically reverse the damage her ex had done to her. A glam-up isn't always the answer (we all need more inward journeys rather than changing our hairstyle to get over a realtionship), but Charley actually needed to change physical elements, along with her car, her housing, her FOOD choices because so much of her life for the past decade had been based on what her ex-boyfriend wanted.
I'm not sure six weeks is enough time to get over a decade relationship, but considering cheating was involved, it seemed Charley did "the work" to be ready to move on.
I loved Ed and his easy-going attitude. For a lawyer, he was pretty open to new adventures.
I feel like this story could have worked without the reality-show element - it was a subplot. But, I loved the Antigua setting, their British humor and politeness.
I thought there wasn't enough conflict between the two of them. It was an "easy" relationship except when Charley's phone was soaked and it went downhill from there as far as communication.
I breezed through the book because I just wanted to be sure these two got their Happily Ever After.
Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood Books for an e-copy of SOMEONE ELSE'S HONEYMOON to read.
I rate SOMEONE ELSE'S HONEYMOON four out of five stars.
This book was such a fun easy read I accidentally read it all in one day! I really want to read more about these 2 characters. They were easy to fall in love with. The introduction of him being on a reality tv was freaking perfect and so unexpected. As a reality tv show lover this made the book even more enjoyable! This is the perfect book to bring to the beach and read.
When Charley finds herself suddenly single on Christmas Day it feels like her world has fallen apart.
Forced to move back in with her parents, she embarks on a journey of re-invention. When she meets Ed, who is on honeymoon alone after being jilted at the altar by a bride he's never met, it looks like her life may be taking a turn for the better.
Fate, however, has other ideas, and she and Ed are forced apart.
Will she find her way back to him, or are they just not meant to be?
Really enjoyable read totally recommend so well written

I just reviewed Someone Else's Honeymoon by Phoebe MacLeod. #SomeoneElsesHoneymoon #NetGalley
It was almost halfway into the book before the story picked up, which is unfortunate because this seemed like a light, fun read.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own
Charlotte finds herself single on Christmas Day after she finds out her boyfriend has been cheating on her. She moves in with her parents until she can find her own place. They invite her on their winter holiday and she agrees to go. Before the vacation, she goes through a period of rediscovering herself. When they arrive, Charlotte meets Ed, who had recently stood up at the altar, and the connection is instant.
Charlotte doesn’t end up meeting Ed until about 40% into the book, so there is quite a lot of buildup to something that I think was pretty bland. Charlotte seems very standoffish in the way she speaks and thinks, and I found some of the things she says seem odd. I found her to be unlikeable.
The first half really dragged on until you got to the actual vacation, and even that was rushed in parts. I found this story to have all the right things in theory, but nothing really stuck with me and made it interesting.
Charley has found herself single after a ten year relationship. To help ease her broken heart, her parents take her along on their trip to tropical Antigua. While on vacation, she meets Ed- a divorce lawyer who is on a reality show sponsored honeymoon- alone. They share many adventures and romantic moments, until a poorly timed interview for the reality show pushes them apart.
This is a fun, beachy summer rom com filled with funny moments and a charming cast of characters. I enjoyed the funny references to the “Married at First Sight” type of reality show that Ed took part in. Antigua was a great setting for this book. I think we need a follow up book to focus on Mads, Charley’s feisty best friend. I’d recommend this to fans of beach reads and romantic comedies.

After a shocking breakup with her live-in boyfriend of 10 years, Charley has to almost completely rebuild her life. She quickly locks down a new wardrobe, new hairstyle, new car, and new place to live. Finally indulging in her first vacation in years in the Caribbean, she meets Ed. Ed's a handsome attorney who signed up for a "married without meeting" reality show and was immediately abandoned at the altar by his prospective bride. On what was meant to be his honeymoon, he meets Charley and seems to be falling in love... and then they're separated by circumstance. Can these star-crossed lovers get it together?
This was such a sweet, enjoyable beach read perfect for kicking off a long holiday weekend. I really enjoyed watching Charley moving through her post-breakup life reboot and realizing how much of herself she'd neglected in service to her relationship, and embracing her adventurous side with Ed.
Thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review!

As mentioned in the description - someone Else's Honeymoon follows Charley, who has just come out of a relationship with her long-term boyfriend, and ends up on a vacation where she meets Ed, who is on his honeymoon alone after being left at the altar. The book is a bit slow to start, as it takes about half the book for her to even end up on said vacation, but I didn't mind this, as it left time for the growth of Charley's character.
I actually genuinely enjoyed the characters, particularly Charley and Maddie, although I feel like the mix-up towards the end could have been dispensed with, and felt like it was added just for the sake of creating some conflict.

I thought this book was a nice feel good read, it was really enjoyable. There was sun, sand, and love of course! This book definitely falls under your classic fluffy feel good to to summer read and I enjoyed that a lot. The characters were memorable and very driven to find who they wanted to be with (Ed thankfully you didn't make bad choices and get married). Definitely recommend! Happy endings are beautiful in these fluffy books.
I really, really enjoyed this book! It was cute, romantic, and witty and it hit the spot and was like a breath of fresh air.
I tried. I really did. I wanted to love this. The premise seemed wonderful. Unfortunately it didn't pan out in this book. Its a romance so you expect a love interest. He didn't show up until the book was half way over though. Beyond that their romance didn't feel authentic. It felt rushed in parts and honestly flat boring in others. I wanted this to be good. I gave it a really good try. But it just wasn't for me.
Unfortunately this book fell a little flat for me 😭
I can’t quite put my finger on it but it felt like there was something missing the entire time. Also it just felt like it took entirely too long to get to the romance part of it, which made the actual romance itself seem way too fast paced.
It was still a cute story, and I really enjoyed all the characters. It just needed a bit more for me to have been able to love it.
I received an ARC copy of this book from the Publisher via Netgalley and voluntarily leaving my review.
I hated that the love interest wasn't even brought into the book until about halfway through. I kept pushing to read this book but if it wasnt an ARC it's possible I would've DNF it
Someone Else’s Honeymoon is a cute romance about a woman recuperating from the breakup of her 10 year relationship and a jilted man, Ed, who was supposed to get married to a fellow contestant on a TV show. They meet about halfway through the story when Charley goes on a trip with her parents. The author has created some interesting characters and humorous situations that young adult readers should love. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book from NetGalley. Highly recommend.
Someone Else’s Honeymoon follows Charley who finds out her boyfriend of 10 years has been cheating on her, moves back in with her parents who treat her to a holiday to Antigua where she subsequently meets Ed. The problem I had with this book is that Ed isn’t introduced until 42% of the way through the book. Almost half of the book is gone and I found myself impatient for a love interest to be established. After he eventually makes his appearance, Charley and Ed spend what is supposed to be his honeymoon getting to know each other. However I just didn’t feel any chemistry between the two at all. Everything felt like a very dry description of an action packed holiday in which the 2 spent all their time together but didn’t really get to know each other. I found myself just not caring about how it ended.
A nice light chick lit read that will at the very least make you want to visit St Lucia if not watch married at first sight
The irony is not lost on me that I read this on vacation and while it was a great beach read… I found the storyline too easy? If that make sense. I would’ve also loved to see Ed’s character to be more flushed out. It was definitely fun and light (I read it one day) but I found it to be a little boring in some places… wanted to see a little more complexity and conflict with both characters and plot.
