Charlie found herself homeless on Christmas Day, it was like her world have fallen apart. She move back home with her parent and trying to move on with the help of her BFF. To help their daughter, her parent invited Charlie to join them on their annual vacation and it was there she met Ed who is on honeymoon alone after being jilted at the alter by a bride he never met before.
Overall I enjoy the simplicity of the storyline which easy to follow. However, I found that some imbalance in the plot especially the time where Charlie met Ed was too short as compared to the focus on the Charlie’s breakup.

This book had so much potential… I’m a little sad cause it could’ve been so good but the book was just really lacking in some points.
It was just too short and some parts were too long, unnecessary plot, but at the same time really rushed, the necessary plot.
The love interest only gets introduced at 40% into the book - the reader just keeps waiting for something to happen and grows impatient. The first half of the book is mostly just the main character breaking up with her boyfriend and having a glowup, nothing else. It just gets repetitive after a while.
The time she spends in Antigua (with Ed, who’s on his honeymoon) is over way too fast. The meet and after talking for only a little time, they’re already in love. It was just unrealistic and should’ve been more detailed and longer.
I really liked Ed and Charley as protagonists though, it was fun to follow them on their little honeymoon adventures and I’d love to meet someone on holiday and instantly be friends with them too.
This book was enjoyable and is a great summer read. Although it lacks at some points - it was still a fast read. So if you want to read something quick and fun, this is the one for you!
The book is a romance, but romance only happens in 20% of it. It takes more than 40% of the book for the love interest to show up and when he does, they have a mismatch and go more than 6 months without being seen. Ed and Charley don't have chemistry together, the phrases and dialogues are well plastered, apart from the scenes being too descriptive of things that are not important to the narrative. Reading became dull and mechanical, without emotion. The honeymoon love plot is pretty cool, but it was underused.
This book was such a fun summer read! I had a great time getting to know Charley and Ed and getting to see how their relationship changes throughout the book. I was a little underwhelmed in the beginning of the book because it took a while for me to get into it but once I got to see the beginning of the relationship that these two have, I was all in. The concept for this book is a lot of fun!
If you’re headed to the beach during the holiday season, this would be perfect to bring along! Entertaining and funny. Liked, but didn’t love it!
What a fun easy read - I picked it up for my holiday and it's absolutely what I needed as a fun poolside read. I found myself flying through the book really fast as I just wanted to see where it was going.
I really enjoyed the story overall, I really liked Charley as a character and enjoyed getting to know her through her break-up and as she overcomes things and finds love again. I really loved the premise of why Ed was on a solo holiday after his disastrous experience on a reality show and them getting to know each other this may.
This is a fast-simple and cute read and even the side characters like Mads added to the book as she was so fun.
It’s my first book by Phoebe and I’d definitely read more by her!
This ARC was provided by the publisher through NetGalley, thank you!
I am not a reader who DNF’s a book really fast. I am always curious if the book gets any better or how it all ends. But unfortunately, this is one of the few books I did not finish lately. I stopped around 40%, because nothing happened at all in the first 40% of the book. It was so boring.
I was hooked by the synopsis, it reminded me a little bit of ‘The Unhoneymooners’ (by Christina Lauren), a book I adored, but – at least not the first 40% was nothing like that.
The cover and synopsis promise a funny and lovely romance, but when I haven’t even seen the male MC at 40%, I am done. It was such a shame, because the story sounded really promising.
Charley broke up with her long-term boyfriend, leaving her with no living arrangements. She moved in with her parents and decided to do everything she could not do because of her boyfriend. When her parents offer to join them on vacation. She knows this is the ideal break for her. She meets Ed, who is alone on his honeymoon. She is fascinated with his whole marriage as part of some reality TV show. When Ed offered to join him on his honeymoon activities, she decided to have some fun for a while. But things change and make them split from one another, and there are fewer chances to meet again.
The concept and plot are intriguing. That's why I picked it. However, things didn't turn out as expected. This is a fast, simple, and cute read. The writing is hasty, lacking little details and old jokes. It's hard to connect with Charley and Ed, thus feeling their relationship isn't a factor. It takes a long time to connect to the main storyline, which makes me bored. Though I adore Maddie and Charley's friendship, Ed's personality, and some light and hilarious moments. It's a quick and entertaining read.
This book has a refreshing summer feel; it's quick, simple, and easy to read with little complexity. Like any other simple romance, I enjoyed this.
A fun read! The writing style was good and it was easy to connect with the characters. Definitely recommend!
This book was so cute. Charley gets dumped by her long-term boyfriend and finds herself getting invited on a Holiday with her parents. There she meets Ed and sparks fly! He is on his honeymoon alone after a reality TV break up. A little twist towards the end has them leaving their holiday without saying a proper goodbye. Will they ever find each other again? This was funny and had the perfect amount of romance
Someone Else's Honeymoon had a very fun storyline that was poorly executed. The entire first half of the book could have been summed up into 2-3 chapters. I was pretty excited to read this, but the trip only lasted for a few chapters after the first half of the book. I'm not really a fan of the insta-love trope, and I was prepared to let it slide because the concept of the story, but the fact that it was kind of pushed into a few chapters, and the background of the main character took more from the book, just killed the vibes for me.
Unfortunately I DNF'd this one at 40%. I was really struggling with some of the terminology used-- I felt like some of it was lingo used in the UK, and while I understand that no book has to cater to the rest of the world, it made some of it hard to follow and really took me out of the story. Additionally, I felt like it took a long time to get to the trip? When I DNF'd I didn't even get the the trip part of the book but the build up was much too slow for me and I lost interest. I really tried to push through but I just couldn't.
Thank you so much to the publisher and Netgalley for gifting me the ARC regardless.
I read over 30 percent and i feel like this story has gone nowhere. I've been bored the whole time and I don't think it's going to get better from there.
This starts out good, even if the breakup is harsh, but then it’s just weeks of normal life for Charley until the holiday with her parents. Now we’re at 40% of the book book when we meet Ed Wells.
She seems very different with him, very open and when things get a little steamy, it fades to black. This keeps happening throughout their time in Antigua. They book a lot of fun things to do, but the circumstances that had Ed take this trip haunt them in his last day. This part went over really quickly.
Charley is upset, but after returning to England, she moved into the furnished flat and goes upon her days.
This was a “Charley’s fling on vacation” book that turns into “Charley can’t find her fling/insta love connection online”…
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
For some fans, reality TV shows can be a community event. Friends gather together each week to watch the latest installment of their favorite show. And in Someone Else’s Honeymoon by author Phoebe MacLeod, one reality TV fan finds herself caught in the middle of her favorite series while on vacation.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.
I honestly tried so hard to push through this book but every time I realized every time I reached for a book to read, it was never this one. This was probably the slowest romance book I've seen in my life.
First of all, the first-person POV really threw me off. It was very æI did this, he did that and then we did this". It didn't exactly flow. The writing also didn't help the case.
Second, why were there so. many, unnecessary, details???? At 10% or something, we start to hear about her sister-in-law's family, I'm not sure about you guys but I can't exactly think of a context where I would need to learn about the sister-in-law's family. We learn about her bra size (???), her new clothes and her flat and apparently don't get into the romance until like 40% (I couldn't make myself read that much, I DNF'ed it at 20 but that's what the comments said). I would understand this slow pacing if this was a women's fiction or a literary fiction book with a lot of character growth but there is honestly none of that either.
I just can't make myself finish it. It is unfortunately going into the DNF pile.
This was a cute, summery read that I thoroughly enjoyed! The plot was good and kept me interested and the FMC was funny and at times I felt as if I was right there next to her!
I did like both Charley and Ed, and enjoyed seeing their relationship develop!
I loved all the humour throughout and it was the happy ending they both deserved in the end!
I’d definitely recommend this book if you want a light, summery, feel good romcom, that’ll transport you to a world of sand and sun!
This is my first novel from this author but I’m looking forward to reading more of her work. It was a quick and cute read with a really fun plot. My only complaint is that it felt a little rushed. But I’d still recommend it.
I received this book as an ARC and thought it might be a cute, quick and easy read and that‘s exactly what it was. It wasn't an original story as in it felt like a lot of the other romances i have read in the past and didn't bring anything new. The writing was rushed and didn't create much depth to the characters or storyline either.
Charley and Ed meet when she is on holiday with her parents and he is on his honeymoon alone. They have a great holiday together, until they are found out, so what will the future hold for them?
