This is a fun puzzle book that challenge your vocabulary. I even have to check with answer key some of the time. The advanced reader copy sometimes forgot to "gray" some existing alphabet, or didn't realize another term that make sense with the clue. Overall, this book is worth to buy, and even as adult, you can have fun jogging your memory for some words.
This was really fun! Loved to see adapted wordle challenges for kids, and great to use in the classroom as an extra exercise or group work! Definitely recommend people checking it out and using!
This is so much fun. We love Wordle so this was great for my little one to get in on the fun. Plus it helps with spelling so added bonus!!!
This was a nice enough puzzle book and I liked the range of difficulties with the puzzles. I did find that the clues to the words were often a bit confusing. They didn't always seem like the most obvious or useful choice for a clue and I found the puzzles more enjoyable when I just decided to ignore them!
Nice and simple introduction for kids on how to complete World-style puzzles. 100 examples so plenty for them to work on and the next logical step in puzzle books given the game's rise in popularity
I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.
Wordle Challenge for Kids is a fun and educational puzzle book of the popular Wordle game. I had never heard of this game until earlier this year at a staff meeting. Its so addictive to play! This book contains 100 wordle puzzles from easy level to hard level and explains how to play and builds up in difficulty. This would be a great book to use as a classroom resource and for long car journeys or holidays as a boredom buster. What I liked about it being in book form is ilthat kids don't need an app to play it and can carry it around with them, giving them off screen time! I highly recommend this one and think I will try to get a physical copy for my own daughter.
There are 100 scaffolded puzzles in this book, easy, medium, and hard. There are good directions of how to solve the puzles. I think kids would enjoy them because of the progression throughout the book.
I enjoyed this Wordle challenge book and think it is definitely great for kids. It seems to help them figure out how to play and if they have questions, it is easy to follow.
I wished that the correct letters and the highlighted letters were maybe in a specific color. I think that it would be a bit easier on the eyes for both adults and the children. Having it as an e-book may be a bit odd though due to me wanting to write the answer down, but I think that this was just me being a little weird.
Other than, the color change I would not change anything else about it. It is a great addition for adults who already play Wordle, and it is a great beginner book for children.
Wordle has been a super popular game with adults and is also the perfect educational activity for kids! I could definitely see using these puzzles in my grade 3 class, or recommending this book to parents who would like fun, educational homework or after school activities for their children to do. This book takes the fun game and turns it into a fun puzzle activity for kids and with hundreds of puzzles, they are sure to be busy for quite a while! I would recommend this book for parents and teachers of children in the age 6-12 range. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book!
Puzzle book based on the popular Wordle game tailored to children. With three different levels, thisbis a great book for introducing the game then practising it.
If you love Wordle and want to share the love with your kids/class without the Screentime this is the book for you! There are 100 challenging, from easy to hard. My kids enjoyed completing them and it was a good use of their knowledge learned through Logic of English.
Thank you NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for the opportunity to read this book.
As an adult we all love Wordle. This is a very cute and creative way for kids to involve themselves in puzzles with clues- these puzzles range from easy to hard.
Do your children always nag you to play games on your phone or tablet?
Do you like the idea of educational games but struggle with the added screen time?
Then this book right for you.
Packed with a paper version of the popular game Wordle this book will keep your child (or yourself!) occupied for hours. Perfect for beginners this book goes through the basics of the word game before inviting you to try Easy, Medium and Hard versions of the game.
Don't worry, an easy to read answer sheet is located at the back if you get stuck!
Perfect for your summer holidays or long plane rides.
(Seven year old approved and enjoyed the Easy and Medium puzzles, I enjoyed the hard ones on his behalf)
I was gifted a digital copy of 'Wordle Challenge For Kids' in exchange for a fair and honest review.
Fun, fun, fun! If your littles are interested in your daily Wordle game. It's interesting to see it in print, but I think it works and is present in a way that little word lovers will find engaging and appropriately challenging. There are three different levels so that kids can keep playing as their skills progress or as they age, and the categorical clue will help make it a little easier than the app is.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the advance copy.
Fun puzzle book based on the popular Wordle app. Includes three challenge levels. This would be fun to introduce younger children to Wordle - especially those who love puzzles. You could use this in the classroom to play a daily Wordle game. It includes a "hint" with each puzzle, which will come in handy for those trying to solve the word challenge.
I am a fan of Wordle, so finding this book to share with my class was fun. The clues are good to help kids build confidence and narrow down their answers. I don't feel that it is as good as the online game, but still a great book..
I really enjoyed these Wordle puzzles, even as an adult. These will be fun to do during the summer holidays. The book has three categories: easy, medium and hard. They are good to do so you can help your kid if they are stuck.
I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!
I can’t wait to share this one with my 7yo! She is going to love it!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced e-copy.
I just knew that Wordle-styled puzzle books would appear soon, and lo and behold here is a junior one. It's the typical thing, six rows of spaces for you to fill with letters that make up a five-letter word, and as you might expect after five rows of 'hot' and 'warm' styled clues a la the old "Mastermind" board game sets (ask your gran) you have to fill the last one in with the only word possible. Although...
All the clues are there, and that's where I did wonder if we really needed the word hint given as well. So it's of note that the book does intend for us to need them too – given puzzle #6 here, A-TER, and no indication if S or L have been tried we might borrow from a gardening parent and say it's ASTER, when it's not. The real solution is only gained if we look to the crossword clue-styled hint "change".
Either way, here we get 35 easy ones, 35 medium – which seem to have a greater vocab and successfully demand more thought – and indeed 30 hard ones, which delve us right down to the bottom row of the keyboard but are still doable with effort. OK, the guesses provided early in the grid are there to give us clues and represent how nobody semi-literate would play the game, but that's probably going to be a given in these books. A huge mark might have been awarded if this did leave with us with one choice, when I proved above it doesn't, but this still has to be thought of highly for the amount of grey matter it will engage. A strong four stars.
As many already know, Wordle has become quite the craze. Lots of people do Wordle every day and look forward to this quick and engaging challenge. Now, kids can have fun doing Wordle too. What could be better?
Within these pages are 100 puzzles that are organized by level of difficulty. In each, children just fill in the last set of boxes. The title of each puzzle also offers a clue. As they become more comfortable, the challenge increases. Some kids may be ready for the adult puzzle after working through this one.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Quarto-Frances Lincoln Children’s Books for this title. All opinions are my own.
