I really enjoyed the idea of this modern cupid story, and I liked where it was going, but it honestly just felt a little rushed and not quite up to the mark. An okay easy read but nothing memorable!

Hannah and Payson grew on me, at first I was unsure but as the story unfolded I started to feel their connection. This was an original plot line with interesting characters, strong read.

I honestly didn't care much for this book and it was very hard to finish it. The relationship between Hannah and Payson felt forced, and rushed. I've never been a huge fan of the "insta love" trope. The premise of the book was a great one but unfortunately this book fell short of building on that premise. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced reader copy.

The concept of this book immediately caught my attention but the execution wasn't great to me. I felt very little about the story and the characters it centered on.

Perfectly Matched follows Hannah, the top Cupid on Archer Island, and one of her marks, Payson, a human that lives in Las Vegas, who is meant for one of Hannah’s arrows. Hannah, whose arrow never misses its target, misses Payson, thus Hannah must pretend to be an intern at the news station Payson works at so she can complete her mission. Hannah is taken with Payson right away, but must complete her mission to get Payson and her perfect match together. The premise of Perfectly Matched is very cute, but the story is pretty rushed. I’m all for a love at first sight, U-Haul story, but Hannah and Payson fell for each other in a couple of days then had to decide if they were willing to give up everything to be together (humans aren’t allowed to live on Archer Island, so will Hannah give up being Cupid to be with Payson?). Hannah and Payson are cute, don't get me wrong, but I would’ve loved to see more of them together and falling in love with each other. Overall, Perfectly Matched is a sweet quick read.

I thought that the concept for this book was adorable -- I loved the idea of a cupid falling in love with someone who was supposed to be her target. But similarly to other reviewers, the plot felt a bit rushed. I still think it is an enjoyable read but the plot points all just felt a bit too simple and convenient for me.

I’m not sure about this book. I had a hard time getting into it, but when I finally started to like it, it began to move incredibly fast. This whole book takes place over a span of 3-4 days. And in that time, the MC, Hannah, is so bizarrely in love that she’s willing to give up her whole world for Payson. It all went a bit too fast for me. I also found it interesting that literally every female character was a lesbian. There were almost no men in the book, which isn’t bad really, but interesting.
But, overall, this was an enjoyable book. I love sapphic books, and it’s important that lesbian love stories are portrayed in media.

This story had a cute concept with a lot of potential. I think the length of the book made it difficult to develop the story as much as it could have been, but it was a sweet, sapphic love story.

The premise of the story seemed interesting and it turned out it was quite enjoyable. The story about Hannah, the cupid, who falls for her mark Payson the mortal, while not believing in first love herself seemed a bit far fetched but it worked for the story.

I liked how we got a glimpse of Hannah who lives on this beautiful mythical island experiences the 'normal' world. How mortals take certain things for granted like flashing lights and loud noises without a second thought. This little comment on today's society was interesting to read.

The side characters were also a lot of fun. I enjoyed Piper and Tegan's banter with their friends.

Perfectly Matched is a Sapphic romance between a cupid who lives on a mythical island and a producer of a news show in Las Vegas. If that sentence sounds like a huge tonal clash, you would mostly be correct! I thought this book looked like a fun story that that would give a modern twist on the idea of cupids. It reminded me a little of the Ed Sheeran "Give Me Love" music video and I thought reading a similar-ish story would be fun!

I thought this book was fine. The general premise was fun but I didn't feel like it was fleshed out as much as it could have been. The vast majority of this book takes place in the human world and I was left wanting to know more about the island of cupids and people who practice magic than the real world corporate slog. I liked that this book tried to consider how love at first sight would work in a modern setting with fantastical elements but I'm not sure that the end product really did this concept justice. Hannah is not sure she believes in love at first sight and wonders about how it would even work. GIRL! You're LITERALLY a cupid and pair people together based on fated romances from the stars. Is this really something you're wondering? I would have liked this book to go deeper into the idea of love at first sight vs. fate vs. futures changing vs. free will. I felt like we almost got there but not quite.

The characters were okay but I didn't feel like any were super memorable. Hannah and Piper were cool and Tegan seemed nice. This is quite the nitpick but I had a lot of trouble with the names. Hannah and Piper are mythical immortals. Payson and Tegan are humans. I would have liked a little more variation in the names between the mythical and human characters. What's the point of living on a magical island if you don't even have a cool name? The archer instructor Oriana seemed to get the memo, but sadly Hannah decidedly did not. Also I laughed every time Payson and her boss Jason were in the same sentence. Payson/Jason.

Overall, I thought this book was fine and recommend it if you're looking for a quick romance that you shouldn't think too hard about. 2.8 stars from me rounded up to 3. Thank you to Bold Strokes Books, Inc. and NetGalley for the electronic advanced reader's copy of this book!

Perfectly Matched began with an interesting premise and a lot of promise.

I found the mythical cupid lore in the beginning to reflect what I would describe as an "adult pixie hollow" where individuals are drawn to objects and practices that reflect their talents. In addition to the sapphic practices that seemed wholly normalised, I had high hopes for the romance within the novel.

The beginning and general first half of the novel was wholly interesting and riveting but then it just really dropped off, and the romance between the main characters (a cupid and their missed mark) really did not meet expectations. While I accept love and attraction at first sight, especially in a cupid novel, the character development and relationship development between the characters felt little to none. I didn't LIKE either of the characters and I didn't feel like I was really rooting for them beyond their first scene together.

Unfortunately, I just have to say this novel missed its potential.

I thought the book was ok. It just didn't capture me as I thought it would. However, I would recommend.

I requested this book because of the amount of great reviews it has and I'm so glad I did. This book completely surpassed my expectations in so many ways and I wish I already had the physical copy of it to put on my shelf!

Good book. Loved the take on Cupid finding a soulmate. Hannah and Paysin are made for each other, even though Paysin had to suspend her disbelief a few times about cupids being real and living among humans especially if said Cupid disappears at the drop of hat right before her eyes. This book was equal parts, funny, cute and sweet. The paranormal world building was very good, and showed the inter working software that world. I would definitely recommend this book to my friends and family and I look forward to what's next from this author.

I really enjoyed the idea of this book, but not necessarily how it was executed. There's some great stuff in here. The Themyscira-esque island which seemed to be all (or at least mostly) populated by women, who are 'mortal', but not like us mortal. The idea that cupid is a role. That the magic of a cupid's arrow has a time limit if you miss with one. The idea of a cupid falling for one of her targets. The wind having a personality. There's some great stuff here.

Unfortunately, the story was so rushed at times, and other times seemed to drag, so it was hard to really feel for the characters. I kept expecting other stuff to pop up to explain things...like maybe that it was actually meant to be Hannah's name on one of the errors, not the anchor (who made so little of an impression on me I can't even remember her name), and it was changed some some reason to keep Hannah on the island, but nope. Maybe Payson was a reincarnation of someone from the island? Nope (at least not quite).

Everything just kinda...happens, and I felt little from this love story.

I really wanted to like this book! I loved the idea of a cupid falling for one of their targets. In this case, Hannah was the cupid and she botched the original shot to make her target fall in love with her destined partner. Because of this, she has to go fix her mistake.

My biggest issue with this was the insta-love. The romance goes pretty quickly. I need angst! Some people might like this though, so if you're looking for a cute read with a fun storyline, this is a good one!

A sapphic love story involving Cupid! Cupid misses her target and to make it right. Making it right may involve falling in love. It is a cute story but certainly not my favorite. The dialogue lacked chemistry and the characters just didn’t do it for me. A solid 3 star read.

Hannah is a cupid on an island that is free from mortals. She travels to the mortal realm as part of her role and shoots magical arrows at people whose names have "been written in the sky" to help them fall in love. Though she is the number 1 cupid and never misses, she makes a mistake that she has to rectify. While trying to make her failed target fall in love with her coworker, she and the target find themselves falling in love themselves.

Okay so pros to this one: everyone is sapphic, I legitimately don't think there's one hetero relationship and...it's short.

I really tried to give this book the benefit of the doubt in the beginning but the world building was lacking which was very confusing. And the whole insta-love thing will just never work for me personally. Hannah and Payson spent all of a day together and are suddenly in love and Payson is giving up her life in the mortal world? This is one of the only books that I've read that I actually think could have been longer and that would have made it better.

The concept here sounded interesting but it ultimately just didn't work for me.

“ A beautiful Cupid, a runaway arrow, and a love that defies the stars…”

By the description of the book, I was very excited to start reading this book. I really liked the idea of having a fantasy island with little cupids who match true love for normal people (mortals) And while the idea is quite original and the lesbian representation full on, the plot was very shallow. In my opinion the story lacked any character development whatsoever and especially Payton (the mortal love interest) didn’t show any growth or development and kept working in a toxic working environment. The epilogue also felt a little rushed, with an all’s well that ends well kinda ending that quickly round up any open story lines. All in all it was an entertaining holiday read, but not a very big recommendation. You won’t miss much if you don’t read it.

This was a cute, short read with some interesting world building. What drew me in was the idea of a Cupid falling in love with one of her marks and I liked the way Toni Logan wove the fantasy elements in with the contemporary Vegas setting. Though I wanted to see more of the island and the Cupid side of things, especially the logic behind the stars putting Payson and Madison together in the first place because clearly they were not soulmates.

Unfortunately, the nature of it being a Cupid story meant that the relationship was very insta-love/love at first sight, which is not my favorite; however, I think the way it played out was well executed. Overall, I think this was a fun read and great for a rainy day!
