This story has some wonderful 'one liners' filled with humor and sarcasm. Kate, get stuck defending a long-ago super model who is one trial for murdering the plastic surgeon who botched her surgeon. As with some 'has beens' she is still 'full of herself' and dreams of a comeback. But there are secrets that comes out and a really big one involves Kate -- in a way. I could have done without the 'romance' that was throughout the story. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I’m sorry to say that I struggled to finish this book. I couldn't relate to the characters and was not drawn into the story in the first few chapters. I like to get hooked into the storyline quickly or I lose interest. I wasn’t sure where the story was going and nothing happened to hold my interest and make me feel I wanted to keep reading.
It started out so so WOEFULLY boring.
Ugh, I was sooo looking forward to this because I got Agatha Christie vibes but my god, I was SORELY disappointed.
It was so slow, sooooo bleh, so ugh that I couldn't bring myself to finish it.
I read the first few chapters, skimmed the rest, read a bit more and then DNFd it.
I can't find anything redeemable about this which is honestly tragic. I'm sorry but it's true. It could use a LOT of work.
I could not get into this. The writing kept me at arm's length from the story so I couldn't bond with characters or get interested in the plot. Ideas were also jumbled, jumping all over the place.
This ARC was provided to me via Kindle, from Moonshine Cove and #NetGalley. Thank you for the opportunity to preview and review. Opinions expressed are completely my own.
While I had issues with some the stereotypes and the way things were worded or portrayed, overall the plot had promise. I feel a better edit or through critique would change the story for the better.
Thanks @netgalley for read number 66 of 2022. I could not put this book down and read it all in one sitting. I will admit that I struggled with some of the stereotypes and commentary in this book. I wonder if character could be developed in a different way. From a plot line perspective, this was an enjoyable courtroom mystery, with a twist that I didn’t anticipate at the end. It was a very fast-paced read, and exactly the kind of light book that I enjoy in the summer. There was a humorous element to it that reminded me of the #finlaydonovan series. A ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read for me.
I am really sorry, but I had to DNF this book. I hate doing that as every author earns respect for writing and publishing. Book. Though the story sounded really interesting, it did not deliver.
I could not get into it at all. The writing was off for me. It felt like the authors thoughts were jumping from one thought to the next, randomly. The characters felt very shallow and not thought out. I gave up halfways, it did not go anywhere.
