A lady comes in, reigniting life into the broken prince. How sweet, how precious! The cover is pleasing. It ticks a few boxes.

I got a lot of 'Beauty and the Beast' vibes but it was not executed very well. The writing was kinda awkward and the characters were not enjoyable to read. The 'romance' wasn't really doing it for me neither. An 'ok' read.

Beauty and the Beast meets the mafia in this riveting read. I absolutely loved it. The characters are complex, engaging, and a reader can't help but get wrapped up in the story. I love when two broken souls are able to come together and wow Cassie had a lot on her plate for someone so young.

I consumed this book in one sitting, this will appeal to any fans of beauty and the beast who like things hot.

I received an arc of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

For me this book was a beauty and the beast retelling with a twist that included Mafia.... It's a good book... One that will have you turning the pages...

A big, beautiful, epic tale of mafia, heartache, betrayal, courage and most of all, love. I can’t remember the last time I was so transported by a book . . . I can’t recommend enough!

ARC provided by publisher and NetGalley for an honest review and opinion. What a powerful piece by R.G. Angel! Cassie and Luca are a true love romance after the devastation of life experiences. Cassie's childhood was devoid of love except for her little brother. Luca lost all hope in an accident staged to look like it was his fault. Being hired as a housekeeper was the perfect gig, but it was filled with loneliness and curiosity. Luca was intrigued with his new housekeeper but vowed to stay away from her innocence. Love conquers all in this story with beautiful streams of acceptance and forgiveness.

Broken Prince is a sort of retelling of Beauty and the Beast with a mafia twist. Luca is supposed to be a capo, but has stepped aside after suffering a devastating loss. He now lives alone and is buried in his grief and guilt and extremely difficult to those around him. Cassie's parents were sent to jail for murder, and she is judged by others because of the sins of her parents. All she wants is to take care of her younger brother, but being able to do that is proving extremely difficult until she is given the chance to apply for a job as a live-in housekeeper that will pay her well enough to support her brother. She just needs to follow the rules and put up wiith the difficult man who has sent everyone else before her running.

This story hooked me from the start. I love a good mafia story, and Beauty and the Beast was a favorite of mine too, so the combnation of the two was a fantastic combination in my book. I loved Cassie's relationship with her brother and her determination to take care of him. She was strong and resilient, but I also like that she challenged Luca and brought out a different side in him. I enjoyed reading the change in Luca's character as the book progressed, and I liked how well he interacted and how much he cared about Cassie's brother. I also really liked Dom's character.

This was my first book by this author and I was pleasantly surprised. The book was engaging, intriguing and well written. I look forward to reading more of this author's work in the future.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.

Gianluca Montanari, underboss of the East Coast's most powerful Mafia family has been living in darkness for two years. He doesn't want to know anything from the world outside his house and the bottom of the bottle.
Until Cassie comes to work as a housekeeper in Luca's house. She is sweet, caring and innocent. Totally different from dark, dangerous and bitter Luca.
But love is stronger than all that, stronger than Mafia.
I adored this book. Everything! The plot, the characters...
Cassie is just adorable and brave. And I must admit that I enjoy Mafia books,so...this one was perfect for me.
I'm reading the next books in the series for sure!

I absolutely adored this book so much, and let me tell you why.

First off, it was essentially a beauty and the best retelling, and I’m not sure if the author meant to do that, but I’m a sucker for retellings. The retelling was perfectly executed, and had its own spin-offs to make it even more interesting. You have Cassandra, who is essentially your Belle, and Luca, who’s your beast. I absolutely love tropes such as “she’s too beautiful and I’m too ugly/scarred for her to love” and “I love him regardless of his past and his physical appearance”.

It was so heartwarming watching Cassie warm Luca’s heart back up after all the despair he’s been through, and it was beautiful watching Luca do everything he could to support and make Cassie happy. Another character I absolutely adored was Dom, I think he was a great support character and I melted every interaction between Dom and Luca, and Dom and Cassie. He was definitely one of the many highlights of this book for me, and side note, I can’t wait to read his spin-off book (which I have already bought).

This plot was made clear from the beginning, and had a sturdy structure the whole way through. I wasn’t left with any questions or gaps in the book. There were plenty of suspenseful moments to keep me on my toes, and I didn’t get bored at all when reading this book.

One thing I will say, is that I do wish the epilogue would’ve been longer and I could’ve seen more of the aftermath between Luca and Cassie, but maybe that’ll be included in Dom’s book.

I received this e-ARC for free in exchange for my honest opinion.

A mafia romance with Beauty and the Beast elements intertwined throughout the book. I would give this book 3.5 stars.

The blurb does a good job at giving all the details, so I won't go into all of that and jump right into my opinion.
I'm conflicted on my feelings about this book. At times I would get really into it and loved it. Then, it seemed like the writing style would change for a bit. At times, it almost seemed like two different people were writing this story. I didn't see any other reviews stating this, so it might had just been me.

One thing I really liked about this book was that it portrayed autism well. When it first introduced her brother as autistic, I was a little concerned on how he would be portrayed. It ended up being done really well and I loved the character. I also really loved how Luca bonded with him.

The romance in this book was a little slow for me. I thought it was going to be a smut filled book but there wasn't any until closer to the end. Normally I wouldn't mind this, but I started reading it for the smut. Going forward I know to save her books for when I'm wanted a balance between smut and plot.

Thank you NetGalley for the eARC. I loved this book so much!! Yes it was a typical boy chases girl story but it was also so much more. Every character in this book had their own story to tell. It had so many twists and turns! I didnt want it to end! A must read!

The fact that this is a Beauty and the Beast retelling with a Mafia twist already had me hooked before I even opened the book. 👏

Grumpy/sunshine, age gap, Mafia, open door spice scenes, touch her and you die vibes, lovable best friend, bad guy who simps for his girl, gushy epilogue, HEA, and nicknames... IN ITALIAN- all my favorite things! ❤😂

The writing was super easy to read and the story kept me so hooked that I read it in one day. There is a lot of Italian in the book but it's translated without being stilted or awkward.

I loved the characters and wanted to know so much more about Dom until I realized there is a second book in the series where he is the main character- can't wait to read the other books in this series and will definitely be checking out more work by RG Angel.

Broken Prince follows the story of Cassie, daughter of serial killer parents and big sister to her sweet younger brother Jude. Due to the FBI believing that she may have had a part to play in her parents' crimes, she is not allowed to take custody of her brother. She's told that once she has a stable job, money and a place to live then she'll be able to take him away from social services and start over fresh. Desperately searching for a job, she takes on the role of cook and general maid at a secluded manor, the owner of which is a mysterious figure, Luca, a mafia boss. At first the two keep their distance but loneliness and intrigue slowly draw them together and they develop an unimaginable bond, Luca vowing to protect her with his life. What follows is a simple plot with some steamy scenes.

I liked that this book was told from both Cassie and Luca's perspectives and the steamy scenes were enjoyable. However, it wasn't particularly well written and it definitely needed some more punctuation and more use of contractions to make it seem less formal at points. The dialogue was especially stunted.

If you're looking for a steamy romance with an ethically questionable mafia boss and an innocent love interest, then this ticks the boxes but I'm sure there's similar books that are slightly less predictable and better written.

Luca has been living his life as a recluse, broken, and drowning his dark memories in alcohol. That is until Cassie enters his world. Having no other option after her family’s awful history was put on every newspaper, Cassie decides to take the live-in housekeeper job at Hartfield Manor. It pays well, they don’t mind her background so what if all 7 past housekeepers left running? It’s her best option. She rapidly starts being intrigued by the manor’s owner who’s living in the shadows. And he might be as intrigued by her...

I should have never started reading Mafia romance... I’m definitely addicted T.T This book was so good, and I started it on a WEEK day, which is bad, really bad, cause I couldn’t put it down and ended up going to bed too late (and guys I’m too old for this!).

This book has some of the best Beauty and the Beast vibes. A dark broken scarred man isolated and punishing himself for his past, a young woman entering his life and being the light in his days. There is also the library/book love, the roses/flowers, but put everything in a mafia world and you get Broken Prince. Seriously loved every minute of this read. I’m in love with every character in this book already. I can’t wait to know Dom’s story, I love that man. Mafia men with a bromance like Luca and Dom have is just amazing! They have great banter and a true friendship that can survive anything. Cassie is the perfect strong female character, she’s instantly entering everyone’s heart just by being herself. The story was captivating and even though it’s a dark romance, the relationship between the 2 MCs was so cute!

This book can be read as a standalone but if you’re anything like me, you’ll find yourself having too many questions unanswered and you’ll have already fallen in love with Dom (and maybe Matteo as well) and you might want to know Carter’s story too so YOU’LL HAVE TO BUY EVERYTHING in this series.

Thanks to Netgalley and the author for the free eARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

4 Stars! This is the first book in the ‘Cosa Nostra’ series and can be read as a standalone. I really liked 90% of this book. I wasn’t crazy about how lovey dovey the main character, Luca, seemed to be towards the end. That was a bit much, especially for a mafia king type character. This was my first time reading this author and I really enjoyed the book! I loved how strong the main female character, Cassie is. I can’t stand a weak female main character. I would categorize this book as an older male/younger female, mafia romance with a Beauty and the Beast twist and a HEA ending! Definitely worth reading.

Broken Prince started out really slow for me. It’s less mafia and action than I was hoping for and I think it just wasn’t what I anticipated which can make a read wrong for me. Both main characters have troubled back stories, but I felt like too much of the story was reflective of their individual traumas, which I get, but it just messed up the pacing for me. The last 40% of the book gets better, but I usually give up by then.

OMG!!! This is a new author for me and I absolutely loved this book!
Cassie is the daughter of infamous serial killers and she’s fighting the custody of her little brother, Jude. So she needs a job ASAP. When an employment office offers her a job as the live-in housekeeper of Hartfield Manor, she is all in.
Luca was a mafia prince. He had it all—and lost it. Now he’s a guilt-ridden, alcoholic recluse. Scarred, broken, and alone. Then he meets her. Cassie’s like sunshine, lighting up his darkness. She makes him want to live again. But his world is no place for an innocent like her. It’s too dangerous.
This is a beautiful and sweet retailing of The Beauty and the Beast but in mob style. Adorable. He is grumpy and she’s sunshine. He is shrouded in shadows, hiding his pain behind beastly manners but he draws her like no other.
I´m a sucker for these kind of stories. It’s a slow burn romance but it’s full of sexual tension and aghast. I loved Dom and Jude as a side characters. There are great steamy moments. Luca wants Cassie for himself but he’s afraid to sink her in a life full of danger. She is kind of naïve but in a cute. This book is well written, engaging and addictive. I read it in a day.
