Broken Prince is mafia romance at it's best!

Cassie is a young woman who is doing her best to get her younger brother out of the system, and that means that she has to find a job immediately which is how she ends up as Luca's live-in housekeeper. He's a tortured soul, and the rumor is that he's cursed so no one wants the job, but Cassie is just the perfect person for it since she's not scared of him. He can be a total beast as he's wallowing in a lot of guilt, and it's a big reason why he's become a recluse, but something about her spirit actually brings peace to his. However, with the light that Cassie is bringing to his dark world, he decides to come out of hiding to take his rightful place again, which doesn't make some people happy.

This is a fantastic modern twist on Beauty and The Beast. With great characters that will have you falling in love with this book has been written very well.

*****5 Stars!

“I’ll be the darkness surrounding your bright light. But I swear to never smother it, never.”

First I would like to thank Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op and NetGalley for allowing me to read an arc of this book. I am honored to have been given a chance to read it and give an honest review.

Cassie, a girl who feels cursed and unwanted, who is desperate for a job and takes a position at Hartfield Manor as a live-in housekeeper. Not many places want to hire the daughter of infamous serial killers and this unwanted job seems to be her only option. She becomes fascinated by her new boss, a man shrouded in shadows and hiding his pain behind beastly manners, she feels drawn to him like no other. He thinks he’s irredeemable. Unlovable. She can’t help thinking, who better than the daughter of monsters to love a beast?

Luca, a man who had it all and lost it all. He was a mafia prince, now he’s a guilt-ridden, alcoholic recluse. Scarred, broken and alone. Then he met her. Cassie is like sunshine, lighting up his darkness. She makes him want to live again. But his world has no place for an innocent like her, it’s far too dangerous. He is too dangerous, because no matter how much he needs her, he would never let his redemption come at the cost of her soul.

I have to admit from the moment I opened this book I couldn’t seem to put it down, I was obsessed! This book had me on the edge of my seat and the tension between the two characters was absolutely perfect! This is not at all what I expected from a Beauty and the Beast retelling, the author took a very interesting and unique twist on this wonderful retelling. The pacing in this book was very well done, the story kept moving in a very easy and interesting way that kept me captivated throughout the entire book and when I finished it, I realized that I only started it that morning. It was so easy to lose myself in this story and the characters, which I really like in a book!

The romance was absolutely swoon worthy and I was a sucker for the slow building tension between Cassie and Luca, I thought it was very well done! I loved how Cassie was able to work her way behind the walls Luca kept up around himself and how easily he fell for her once they came crumbling down. I also enjoyed how Cassie was prepared to embrace Luca’s faults and darkness and his promise never to smother her light--they made the perfect balance in their relationship.

This book has earned a spot on my favorites list and it was one I would highly recommend! I am very much looking forward to reading the rest of this series and all the other books R.G. Angel has written!

Not gonna lie, this one took me by surprise. I thought it would be your typical spin on the Beauty and the Beast story, but that was not the case.
Yes he’s a flawed and injured in the looks department - who has a massive house with a spectacular library, but her going to him for a job isn’t like the Disney version. Not at all. She simply needs a good paying job to help her get back on her feet to get custody of her brother. The little brother she has always raised as her own.
He’s also mafia.
I love me a good mafia story!
This when has it all - a little action and romance. If I hadn’t been sick I probably would have read it in one sitting.
Great story!!
