I think this is an excellent book for kids. The not only learn their alphabet but in addition they learn about different animals. The book had the letters, the animals name, a picture of the animal and a description of the animal. It's like ABC biology!
A wonderful tool for any early year classroom and home. I rather enjoyed the additional information about each animal. The end of the book was a nice bonus with the pages on sight words and letter recognition pages. The bird and fish information pages were nice as well. I can see kids loving this book.
I really love this alphabet book about animals! Each letter features an animal starting with that letter as well as a few sentences describing the animal, its characteristics and/or features of its habitat. I love that it goes beyond the basic "a is for alligator" with some detailed information about the animal. The font is accessible and is fairly easy to decode. I also noticed that the author chose animals that start with the short sounds for the vowels (I is for iguana not ibex), the most common/"hard" sounds for c and g (ex. g is for goat not giraffe) which is often how early years teachers introduce these letters and their sounds when preparing students to learn to read. As a teacher, I would recommend this book for parents and teachers of children in the age 3-8 range. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book!
Many alphabet books are simple with a picture and a word. This title does more by offering information about each animal that is included. The illustrations are soft and sweet and the animal facts are interesting. There are additional bird and fish facts at the end of the book. There is also a note to parents.
This is an alphabet book that can grow with a child. I recommend it.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title. All opinions are my own.
A lovely book for babies/young children to not only teach them the alphabet, but to always give them facts about the animal beginning with that letter.
Cute pictures that small children will enjoy seeing.
This is a very cute illustrated version of the ABC's which will help kids not only be able to remember the ABC's but what object or thing is associated with the letter and what it is/does.
