This book was a great read for me and I devoured it in a day. This book was a first for me from thsi author and I look forward to hearing mre from them
This book was a great post apocalyptic story! A mix of post apocalyptic and magic, that I’ve never experienced before. It was such an interesting story and world to unfold. I finished in 2 days and I’m excited to read more. I found it was a little hard to follow at times with the different POVs, and some that barely got any POVs. I believe the character development could be worked on, I loved their growth but at times it felt very bland and that the characters blended together or was rushed. Overall I really enjoyed the story! Excited to see how the second one improves as I can only see it getting better from here.
I liked the world building and overall a good read; the concept of the book is quite unique to anything I have read recently so it was interesting to delve into this fantastical world. My only criticism would be that the book was a bit difficult to get into initially, perhaps due to the writing style of the author. Regardless, I will be picking up the next book in this series to see how the story develops.
Thank you NetGalley for a chance to read The Light After the Orange.
The premise of this story is so unique I couldn’t wait to read it. I did have a little bit of trouble getting into this book (not sure if it was the slow beginning or the writing style) but overall I enjoyed it. I liked the characters and the world. Also liked the idea of magic emerging after an apocalypse. I’m looking forward to the next installment.
Unfortunately, I could not get into the story. The multiple POVs could've worked, however, I felt lost as we didn't get enough of each person to understand what was going on. The writing style was also not for me.
I am sure this book is great but it wasn't a match for me.
I'm fascinated by books that talk about our world joining another where magic is real. This was a good and compelling story.
The world building is interesting, I lked the style of writing and the characters.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine
