Such a fun picture book! I read this to my kids and the absolutely loved it. They love books with similar illustrations, so I knew it was going to be a favorite!

A really fun, educational book that introduces young children to different shapes and their properties. I can see ks1 childten really enjoying this and learning lots too

We read We Are the Shapes for bedtime story time and it was such a hit! Super cute illustrations with a lovely little story.

I am a math teacher, and never in my life I'd imagine a story like this. Ever. Hilariously funny and true, this is the story of basic shapes, to introduce to young children. So of course, a story of them is in order. The author brilliantly created something interesting to entertain kids (and adults like me) and also make them realizing shapes around them looks like. Definitely a fun way to learn.

Unfortunately, I wasn't keen on this book. I felt it was mean and could have been kinder. Square and Triangle dont get along so circle stepped in to try and help them get along.

This book has been done and been done better. We learn about how squares like things nice and equal, and triangles like to be creative and edgy, and that circles know how to get things done. Circle just wants everybody to work together and find out that their differences make them better together. However, this book is so wordy. Somebody will like it, just not me.

I read this children's book with my daughter, and we both liked it a lot. I enjoyed the story, and the message of the book. The book is about shapes, and at first we see the squares and the triangles, and how they find it hard to get on with each other. Next come the circles, who try to show the squares and the triangles how to work together as a team, rather than fighting all the time. I loved this message, which is very important for young children.

The book has lovely graphics, which all children will love. Highly recommended!

Books such as We are the Shapes are a necessity in all children's rooms to help them start learning as they grow. This one in particular teaches children about the different shapes.

During a recent picture book retreat, I was lucky enough to hear a talk from the director of Happy Yak about their new picture book, 'We Are The Shapes'. So, when the text became available on NetGalley, I jumped at the chance to share it with my little ones. Similar to 'The Perfect Fit' by Naomi and James Jones but with more attitude, this story follows the argument between The Squares and The Triangles, who really can't get on.

The Squares are straightforward and reliable. The Triangles are sharp and edgy and they really don't get on. So when a fight breaks out, can circle turn things 'A-ROUND' without taking sides?

As well as being a great way for young children to learn about shapes and the properties of shape, this is a sharp, witty, character-led text which would also lend itself well to PSHE lessons about getting on and resolving conflict. The clever puns bring a light touch to the shapes' argument, ending with the overall message that it's okay to be different and that everyone has a valuable part to play. Simple but beautifully executed, this maths based story makes learning fun.

Any book that has talking shapes is our kind of book— but shapes that make my kid belly laugh are my favorite. I have a feeling this book is going to be our story time read every day! The puns even had the adults laughing. Definitely recommend this book for learning shapes & overall fun!

The story was just eh for me. It didn't really make sense. Apparently shapes have personality characteristic traits? I didn't get it.

I wasn’t too sure about this one. The book explains the differences between the shapes and how it’s ok to be different but otherwise I found it a bit confrontational. The shapes didn’t like each other and there was a lot of repetitive negativity - not for me. I’ll be choosing a different style of book to explain these concepts to my little one. I liked the illustration style though!

The Squares and Triangles do not like each other. Each group feels like they are the best group until Circle shows them they can be better together.

This book includes some information about squares and triangles. It highlights how are differences don't have to set us apart, but makes us unique.

This book us great for the classroom.

This was a fun read! I appreciated that it combined opportunities for discussion around social emotional learning with simple math concepts. The illustrations were bright and engaging. There was humor throughout the story that would be appealing to young children. This would be a good addition to a preschool or kindergarten curriculum.

A fun mix of math facts and fiction, We Are the Shapes is not just about how the shapes are physically different, but is a great lesson on how to be a friend with those who are different than us. I enjoyed the math humor in the squares and triangles telling circle to pick a side, when circles have no sides. Fun for shape introduction units in preschool/kindergarten!

We Are the Shapes is such a cute picture book. It's exactly what my patrons in my library are checking out and I really liked the illustrations. I also liked the message that things don't always work out and it's okay that that happens.

This was such a fun story of shapes and their unexpected differences. With amusing personalities, the battle of the squares vs. triangles rages while they try to claim superiority.

With fun and whimsical illustrations and amusing dialogue, this will surely be enjoyed by both children and parents alike.

The picture book, We Are The Shapes by Kevin Jenner is incredibly imaginative. It's an adorable read filled with cute illustrations. I'm sure the kids would love these. I loved the colour scheme, the pastel shades create a soothing effect.

In this quirky narrative, Jenner personifies Squares, Triangles, and Circles to convey a powerful lesson that "Despite the differences, you can accomplish almost anything together.” I felt the story ended abruptly. It would have been nice to see the story continue further towards the moral.

This book may be the perfect tool for introducing shapes through enjoyable activities, like pretend play with building blocks. I don't believe this can be used to teach concepts in the traditional sense.
