Twists and Turns and so much more! This story was full of suspense and things that you don't see coming.

This is a story about Tara and her family. Due to a family emergency Tara's life changes on a dime. As she is dealing with these changes she may just get more than she bargained for. This is a fast paced book that you just want to keep reading.

This story is one that hooks you in quickly and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Could not put it down because I needed to know what happened.

You have a great childhood. You and your older sister are thick as thieves and you support each other every step of the way.

It goes without saying that, when something horrible happens, she is the first person you call. She will know what to do. Older sisters know best, right? Maybe though in this case it’s not exactly true…

Nothing you can do about it, even if you want to, with all your heart. It is what it is and you share a dark secret now.

You would think something so fierce would bind you together for ever. It does not. On the contrary…

What ever went on in the past, she still entrusts you with the most precious thing after she dies: her daughter.

You realise why this happened to her. It’s all linked to the past. A past that will seek revenge in the present.

People’s reaction to events, whether they are happy ones or sad ones, can be divided in two groups.

On the one hand there are those who scream and shout and make their opinion very clear to the rest of the world. On the other hand there are those who keep silent, nobody ever really knowing what goes on in their head.

People belonging to the loud group are noticed and if someone is out for pay back, it’s those you suspect straight away. The quiet ones often easily overlooked and/or forgotten.

Maybe though being extravert is what keeps them sane? It’s what helps them to offload? Whilst the introvert ones maybe never allow themselves to move on? Who would you bet your money on, if you had to pick a suspect?

A very enjoyable read that paints the picture of what greed and grieve can make you do. 5 stars

Thank you

I found myself racing through it to see how this story unfolded.
The setting/atmosphere of this book was so chilling.
It was claustrophobic and incredibly intriguing.
The writing was brilliant. It was so engaging. I did not want to put this book down.
Her characters are intrerting vibrant and alive, and tend to leap off the page and move into your life for the duration of the book. This, combined with her devious mind which conjures up intriguing mysteries, guarantees a read that just can't be put down.

The girl in your house is an utterly addictive psychological thriller packed with suspense about how far we will go to protect our darkest secrets……What A Ride!... blew me away… The narrative grabs the reader by the throat and doesn't let you breathe until the end… I read this book in one sitting. I stayed up until midnight devouring the action! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you netGalley for this advanced copy. I love Georgina Cross. After a house fire, Hannah goes to live with her aunt and cousin. Things seem to be going well, but then the notes and empty calls start to happen. We see chapters about the past and the significance that fire plays in the story. This book had a lot of good "on the edge of your seat moments. I knew something was up once the lady mentioned the soccer injury, but didn't know to what extend. Good book! Lots of suspense.

Tara lives with her young daughter and has an estranged sister and a secret. When the sister Beth, is killed in a house fire, Tara is asked to take on her niece Hannah who is sixteen. Hannah is grateful for this but has been told much about Tara and can't believe how nice she is being which does not tally with what her mother told her. When Tara begins receiving threats could the past be catching up with her and putting her newly extended family at risk?
This is brilliantly written and grabbed my attention from the beginning. There’s a nice uneasy tension between the pages as we get hints of what happened in the past but not the full story… yet. An engrossing, well written thriller and a new author to me- one I will certainly look out for in the future.

I liked the book overall. It was easy/fast reading, but the “past” didn’t make a lot of sense. I believe that aspect needed more chapters to explain and make the story more authentic. I didn’t care much for main character (however im not usually a fan of most mains) In particular, I found the main to be simplistic and lacking depth or common sense. I was surprised with the twists at the end. I did like that it wasn’t wrapped up in a “happily ever after” which I despise unless it can be made to sound realistic. I appreciate some deaths or negative things in an ending when it makes sense.

It was an okay story, somewhat predictable. It's a shame that the title gave it all away. The secrets weren't that big. Nice, straightforward mystery. It was a slow start for the story to developed. The characters were fully developed and that was good. Although, the story never really captured my attention for long. It wasn't as good as Georgina Cross last book.

3.5 stars

Georgina’s writing style I find to be very compelling—you are invested in learning what happens next because every twist seems more scary than the last. It’s a good read with plenty of intrigue to keep you reading. This particular book is one you’ll find yourself invested in to see what happens to this family in the end.

I wish there were more details given to the characters. We’re given a good amount of detail about certain events in their lives but it’s a rough sketch of the person, but I wanted more details about the background and the lives of these people to better understand the choices they make in the book.

Overall, I enjoyed the book and it propelled at a speed you’ll find enjoyable!

The storyline was interesting and the twist was unexpected. but it was overly dramatic so it wasn't a realistic story, esp what happened in the past and the actions of the two sisters didn't make a lot of sense.

The Girl in Your House by Georgina Cross had me hooked from the very first page and did not let go. I devoured this one in a single afternoon.

Tara receives the devastating news that her sister Beth has died in a house fire. An anonymous note that follows lets Tara know that this was no accident, and that she will be next. Assuming guardianship of Beth's sixteen year old daughter Hannah, Tara knows that the secrets she thought she had buried many years ago now present a very clear and present danger to herself, her niece, and her daughter.

Told from Tara's perspectives of both past and present, a dark and twisty tale emerges, one that kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end. 4.5 stars

My Review:
Loved!!!!! Shocked!!!!! Speechless!!!!! These are just a few words I would use to describe this dark twisted book. This is my third read by this author and it certainly won’t be my last. I knew this author was special when I read her debut novel The Stepdaughter. Now let’s talk about this wonderful book that I couldn’t put down for the life of me. This one had it all. Lies, secrets, affairs, oh my. It left me guessing the whole way through. I thought I had it all figured out and then boom there was another twist I didn’t see coming. The story line kept me captivated along with all the deceitful characters. I raced right through this one like there was no tomorrow. I just had to find out what happened and why. That ending was a shock of all shockers. I was like what, am I reading this right. This author kept the biggest secret for the end. I would’ve never guessed it in a million years. It truly made the book. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

In conclusion, the plot, the characters and all the twists in this book made this book an enjoyable read. I would definitely recommend it and happily give it 5 Hearts❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

This book reads like a television show…the characters have so many secrets…but the ending is pretty evident…this book was sent to me by Netgalley for review…sadness prevails…the past and the present…frightening episodes…this is a character driven novel that has so many red herrings…but the ending is discernible early on…this is a talented novelist in writing a cannot put down story.

Tara finds out her sister Beth has died in a fire that was set to her house. So now her sixteen year old niece, Hannah, will be coming to live with her and her daughter, Cassie. Tara and Beth had not talked in a long time after a falling out from something that happened with her parents a long time ago. She is nervous to help Hannah but wants to honor her sister's wishes. There are many secrets between Beth and Tara and a past and present timeline that will leave you glued to the pages.

I really enjoyed THE GIRL IN YOUR HOUSE. I thought this was an engrossing thriller and it was hard to put down. I always love a good twist, and this one certainly surprised me. If you enjoy a book about secrets between family members, pick this one up. You won't be disappointed!!

All it takes is four words to shatter everything: “Your sister is dead.” Someone set fire to her house and my niece is the only survivor. With trembling hands, I reach for the window and rip open the blinds. Everything remains quiet. But deep down I know: they’re coming after me next.

When I left my parents’ home in Kentucky, I never thought I’d see my sister again. For years we kept a terrible secret and eventually it tore us apart.

But when I get the call to say that my sister has been killed and my teenage niece Hannah is coming to live with us, I leave the past behind. Hannah is family and I need to keep her safe. I know what could happen to her if I don’t.

When my niece arrives, she bonds with my daughter Cassie instantly. But then I hear a scream from the girls’ bedroom. And in the garden, someone has lit a fire. It’s a warning.

Then the note arrives. “I’m coming for you.” In that moment I know that if I want to keep us alive, we have to leave everything behind.
Wow absolutely enjoyed totally recommend
