Another fabulous Christmas Romance by Sarah.
The Millar family live in Scotland on an estate, Glenda, Douglas and Nanna Jean. Their 3 children Ross, Alice and Clemmie all moved down to London for work. Alice is a doctor, Ross has his own company and Clemmie is a nanny. They all return at Christmas to spend time together.
Alice works in marketing and has come up to Scotland to take pictures of a product with reindeer’s. She decides to drop off a proposal for Ross, but it doesn’t go to plan. The storm has come in and blocked the roads.
This is a beautiful romance novel, full of happy smiles and a all round feel good book. Loved the setting, the snow and all the wonderful characters.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for a copy for an honest review.
I love romance, especially Christmas romance, but for some reason this book did not hit the mark for me. I could not gel with the heroine at all. The writing fell too drawn out as well for me, I like to get to the heart of a romance decently quick, but it all took ages.
When siblings Ross, Alice and Clemmie return to their family home in the Highlands for Christmas, they each have big choices to make. When Storm Scrooge descends and they are all snowed in, the whole family have to rethink their relationships and make decisions for the future.
I loved this seasonal tale! The characters jumped off the page, especially Nana Jean. The multi generational relationships were poignant, showing the advantages and disadvantages of family dynamics and how to be open to change.
What I did not particularly enjoy was the extended passages explaining what the characters were thinking and feeling., most of which had been covered in previous dialogue or actions.
Having said that I really enjoyed reading this story.
A lovely heartwarming Christmas read. A well written Christmas read with loveable characters. This book will transport you to scene snowed in at Christmas
Yet another fabulous book by Sarah. All of her books have been comfortable and easy reading and this one is no exception.
One Family and a Stranger.
Another wonderful Christmas book by the superlative Ms Morgan. A family Christmas set in picturesque and snowy Scotland is unintentionally gate crashed by Lucy when she is first mistakenly welcomed as Ross’ girlfriend, then breaks her ankle in a snowstorm. The story starts off with secrets and tension but love and understanding eventually saves the day.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I really enjoyed this book, it felt like a big warm cosy hug.
The first part when Lucy is in London is a little slow, but as soon as she arrives in Scotland and they are snowed in, the warm cosyness sets in and it is a joy.
Lovely characters, gorgeous setting and lovely festive fun.
Perfect for this time of year - in fact I would love a follow up to find out what happens to these characters as I now feel so invested!
Trying to save the marketing company that she works for Lucy travels to Scotland to drop off a business proposal to the enigmatic Ross Miller. Due to a winter storm she ends up marooned approaching Christmas time and there she becomes involved with the Miller family and the squabbling siblings.
For me this is a perfect Christmas book. The setting, the sense of family, the food (although I'll pass on the parsnips) combine to give a comforting glow to the book. I became totally involved with the characters, could Douglas learn to delegate, Alice admit her love for Nico, Clemmie feelings for an old friend. Nanna Jean is perfect as the interfering grandmother and Glenda as the mother worrying whether she is doing things right. Finally we have Ross with his father issues and not least Lucy, who I totally felt for, lonely after the death of her beloved grandmother. Do yourself a favour and sit down of a winter's evening and immerse yourself in this story and you will lose yourself in it, highly recommended.
I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley, however this did not influence my review of the book.
I know it’s almost Christmas when I’ve a Sarah Morgan book to read and thus is the perfect festive story.
Snowed in for Christmas is another wonderful story - full of gorgeous characters, a magical festive filled house and emotions flying high.
I loved Lucy’s story - her backstory and her loyalty to Arnie was an emotional start to the book. I loved the way that the Millers took her under their wing and weren’t afraid to share their family dramas with her.
As with all of Sarah Morgan’s books I felt the warmth from all of the characters especially Nanna Jean and the family dynamics were extremely entertaining.
The promise of a snow filled Christmas only added to the tension and definitely provided the perfect setting for this lovely Christmas read.
Lucy Clarke loves her job, but with her boss taken ill and the company in trouble her colleagues are relying on Lucy to save the day. The only way to do this is to secure the business of Ross Miller. Unable to get an appointment to see him Lucy takes her proposal to his family home in the Scottish Highlands hoping that at some point over the holidays he will read it and award her the business.
Unfortunately, an accident leaves Lucy stranded with the Miller family and no way of getting home.
While Ross and his siblings bicker and try to avoid awkward questions from their parents and grandmother, Lucy can’t help feeling how lucky they are and wishing she was part of a family like theirs.
As the snow continues to fall tensions rise and as things come to a head will it be a Merry Christmas after all.
Perfect to curl up with and get in the Christmas mood.
I have been eagerly awaiting Sarah Morgan’s annual Christmas book. It is generally one of my favourite reads of the season, leaving me filled with Christmas spirit after reading of snow, delicious food and family gatherings. This one is set in the Scottish highlands and certainly promises plenty of snow and family drama.
The story centres on the Miller family. All of the Miller siblings (Ross, Alice and Clemmie) are coming home from London to spend Christmas with their parents and grandmother in the family’s lovely lodge. They are all hoping to avoid ‘interrogation’ from the older members of the family as they all have secrets they would rather not share with them. Also heading from London for the village where the family live is Lucy, a marketing specialist who is hoping to save her job and indeed the entire company by procuring a contract from Ross Miller. She intends to deliver her proposal and leave, but a misunderstanding and the weather between them contrive to see her stranded in the Miller home and unable to avoid intruding on their Christmas preparations. With all the secrets being bottled up in the household, the atmosphere is anything but relaxed and Lucy finds herself trying to hide away from the inevitable conflict, wishing to be back at home but, as a person with no family, at the same time envious of the warmth of the Millers’ family home.
As anticipated, I absolutely loved this story. It is full of such interesting characters and situations that could be found in any family, but not generally all at once and in a confined space. The older Millers are well-meaning, but they do tend to pry, and I could understand why the others wished to keep things from them. For me the star of the story was Nanna Jean, who understands her family best of all and refuses to be shocked by anything; she definitely added humour to the narrative. Of course, in the cosy family home there was lots of cooking going on and all sorts of tasty meals being served up. In addition, the Miller family has been producing shortbread for generations, so there is plenty of that being eaten as well; I was intrigued by the whisky shortbread. When I started reading this book, I thought I could predict the ending, but I had no idea of the twists and turns ahead of the characters. I can confidently recommend this book for anyone looking for a truly Christmassy tale with warmth and romance, and lots and lots of snow.
This lovely festive read emphasises the importance of family bonds as advertising executive Lucy Clarke, who has no family to call her own, finds herself snowed in with the Miller family in their large Scottish home. On the surface, the Miller family seem to have a perfect life, with plenty money from their shortbread empire, but there are tensions within as Glenda Miller struggles to stay out of her children's love lives - or lack thereof!
Elder daughter Alice has arrived with her boyfriend, but is afraid of commitment. Her brother Ross plays the field and younger daughter Clemmie seems determined to go it alone.
How will any of them find love and happiness, especially when they're snowed in? Fortunately, Nana Jean, the family matriarch is less sensitive to her grandchildren's privacy, and happy to interfere!
This was a warm and cosy read with all the right ingredients for a seasonal story - family, snow, plenty descriptions of festive food and drink, and the promise of romance.
The characters are all lovely, and along with the heartwarming exploration of just what family means, there is also lots of humour to keep things light.
Sarah Morgan is on top form with this one!
You know Christmas is on the way when Sarah brings out her Christmas read. This is yet another great read from Sarah. Imagine living in a beautiful house in the Scottish mountains. This is what the Miller family had, but also imagine all your personal problems are there to be faced and there’s no where to run to as you’ve been snowed in. If you have a problem but you can’t escape either that or your family and you’re forced to face it head on it’s not easy. Ross, Alice and Clemmie live in London but return to the family home every Christmas. This particular Christmas they all have their own baggage to deal with and when you’re snowed in there’s nothing you can do but face it head on. A great read, dealing with Christmas with the family dynamics too.
It’s not officially Christmas until you’ve read one of Sarah Morgan’s new Christmas books and this one is sure to wrap you up in a blanket of pure Christmas loveliness.
Set in the Scottish Highlands, this story centres around the Millers family Christmas as the whole family reunite to spend Christmas together as one big happy family and of course in true Sarah style it never runs quite smoothly does it. Throw in three siblings and an elderly Grandma that speaks her mind and an unexpected guest who ends up being snowed in with them for Christmas and you have got the perfect recipe for Christmas chaos.
I have been a huge fan of Sarah’s work for a few years now and I always look forward to her new Christmas books every year.
Snowed in for Christmas is the perfect book to get you in the festive mood. Sarah always sets the scenes perfectly that it feels like you are actually right there within the story.
If you are already a fan of Sarah’s work then you will love this! And if you’re not then you definitely should be!
Thank you to Harper Collins and NetGalley for this free ARC copy in return for an open and honest review.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
'To be able to curl up on that rug in front of the fire and open those presents. To tease each other, and just enjoy being together. What would it be like to know this was your home?'
'We can worry about the future, and we can plan, but the only thing we can ever really be sure of is now. The rest is just hope, dreams and chance.'
Thank you to @HQStories Harper Collins for allowing me early access to the ARC copy of this delightful read by Sarah Morgan.
I loved this book, it has everything a Christmas book should have...snow, remote cabin, family drama and love.
The setting is perfect, an isolated cabin cut off by a snow storm blocking the access bridge, however it only becomes blocked when everyone gets there; add a stranger and family tension, makes for a great festive read.
Nanna Jean was my favourite character, what a legend...
“You’re not to interfere, Nanna Jean.”“Why not? I’m old. People make allowances when you’re old.”
Loveable old lady with a direct attitude to life, as she says she doesn't have the time to beat around the bush.
I felt the build up to the inevitable end was well planned out and described perfectly; like most festive romance books it starts with a very unlikely situation which leads to another which then leads to a new blossoming romance.
Clemmie is another heartwarming character and I'm so pleased things come together for her, I feel she needs some happiness for herself and definitely makes an impact with her future plans.
Overall the book is full of happiness and dreams coming true over a very snowy festive period and I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a lovely family, romance story.

Snowed in for Christmas is another enchanting read by Sarah Morgan. A perfect blend of romance, family relationships with some Christmas merriment. I enjoyed following all three siblings journeys that were interwoven as they are stranded in the Scottish family home for Christmas. Lucy’s unexpected stay due to a snow storm added the most interest in her developing curiosity with Ross. A real chocolate box, festive read.
This was my first time reading anything by Sarah Morgan and I was drawn in by the title and the blurb. I think there would be nothing better than spending a Christmas snowed in in such an idyllic setting.
I found this to be a heart warming and cosy Christmas read. I loved the Miller family, especially Nanna Jean, who was the main character to bring humour to the story. I also enjoyed the interactions between siblings Ross, Alice and Clemmy.
The story is told from the points of view of four of the female characters Lucy, Clemmy, Alice and Glenda (the mother). However I found that having so many characters and their own romantic relationship issues detracted from the main story which should have been Lucy and Ross.
The pacing was fairly slow as we are introduced to all the characters. Then it all seems to wrap up very quickly. I would have liked to have a little more of the happy endings and perhaps an epilogue. I definitely needed more of Ross and Lucy. I would have liked to hear the POV of Ross too.
All in all a nice cosy read and perfect to give you all the festive feels.
I think I have read nearly all of this author’s novels. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and she writes so well you feel part of it. A wonderful novel that made me feel Christmassy on a wet October afternoon. I would totally recommend this beautifully written story. Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me access to an early copy of this great read.

Snowed in for Christmas starts by introducing us to Lucy and then the Miller family. Lucy is due to spend Christmas alone whilst the three Miller siblings are all wary about being back home in the Scottish Highlands for Christmas, wondering what comments their parents and grandmother will make.
Lucy is determined to help her boss keep his PR firm from closing and decides to hand deliver a business proposal to Ross Miller, after working on a promotion for another client nearby. As the title of the book suggests she then finds herself snowed in – unable to return to London.
I loved curling up with this book. Lucy finds herself stuck with a family who are dealing with some challenges and who appear to have lost the ability to talk to each other about the things that really matter to them. Can some time together looking after Lucy help them see what is important? Can Lucy persuade Ross that her business proposal will help his company and save her job?
My favourite character is Nanna Jean, who appears to be able to get away with making comments that no one else would dare to say due to her age. Thank you Sarah Morgan for writing this thought provoking and uplifting festive read. I’m happy to recommend Snowed in for Christmas which should be enjoyed with a glass of mulled wine and a box of chocolates. The book will be published on Thursday 27 October.
I love a Christmas romcom, especially one set in my beautiful home country of Scotland.
This had a lot of characters with their own HEA's to find so don't read the blurb and be mistaken that this is about one pair of people like I was.
Douglas and Glenda have to deal with ageing and owning a business and all that entails, nanny Jean can't stop meddling in her families lives, she knows all and sees all and isn't afraid to play the old lady card! Alice and Nico are high flying in their careers but Alice is afraid of not being able to perform in other areas of her life and this is hindering her relationship. Clemmie has always been in love but isn't brave enough to admit it, except to Hunter - the sweet family dog. Then there's Ross, a workaholic with deep rooted guilt for not going into the family business. He has a lot of work to do to repair his relationship with Douglas and Lucy might just give him the push he needs.
A beautiful setting, lovely characters and a wonderfully tied up conclusion.
If you only read one Christmas book this year, make it this!
