There’s just something so warm and comforting about a Sarah Morgan Christmas book and this one was no different. I loved the characters and the different storylines going on with each of the siblings and Lucy. I read this so fast because I was just enjoying it so much!
-multiple pov
-cosy Christmas vibes
-interfering but loving family
-siblings figuring things out
Definitely recommend for a cosy Christmas read!
I’ve never read a Sarah Morgan book before and didn’t know what to expect, but this was absolutely lovely. A wonderfully immersive festive book.
A lovely heartwarming Christmas tale.
The Miller siblings return home for Christmas but each one is trying to keep secrets from their parents and Nanna Jean.
It took me a while to get into this one but once the family had returned home it all started to slot into place and found its rhythm.
It's a real treat to read Sarah's books as no-one does Christmas as well as Sarah.
I loved that they were snowed In and Scotland seemed the perfect place.
I adore shortbread and would've loved to have been in the kitchen with Nanna Jean baking. A very wise woman that one if a little nosy!
Fans of Sarah and Christmas will love this one.
Thanks to Netgalley and HQ for the ARC in return for an honest review.
This is an emotional Christmas read of family and relationships and is a heartwarming family drama.
This story is told from the points of view of the different female characters and highlights the importance of sharing how you are feeling with others and talking through problems and how things done seem so bad once they are out in the open and with a little help from family members things can seem clearer again.
This was a cosy read that set the scene for Christmas with the snowy descriptions and made me want to drink hot chocolate and wet shortbread while reading. This was like being wrapped up in your favourite blanket and getting enveloped in a hug while reading. A perfect holiday read.
I loved this book! A very easy read and for change, it wasn't predictable or formulaic. Lucy works for an ad agency and is trying to help her boss find new business in order to save jobs, including hers. She travels up toScotland for a photo shoot then as she's there anyway, leaves her campaign ideas for Ross (who has a gym business) at his family home. Lucy is trying to get in first with ideas for an imminent campaign that Ross wants. Unfortunately, there's a storm, transport is cancelled, so she ends up staying at his family home. Various other things happen (don't want to give too much away!) and at the same time we find out about the lives of the rest of Ross's family. I really enjoyed the back stories here and also, how this family works and the relationships between the members. It was a thoroughly enjoyable read and did keep me engrossed. I read it in two days as I couldn't put it down. It's not your usual run of the mill Christmas book, it's very realistic. Thank you Netgalley for giving me the chance to read and review this book.
If books were a hug then this would be a huge, warm, snuggly one!
Set in a beautiful place with relatable, likeable characters this book, although a bit predictable, was a wonderful winter read!
A perfect Christmas story. It has it all - romance, snow, family, comedy,a handsome hero and a dog. What’s not to like!? The characters are well written and defined. They are quite diverse in their personalities and each one had a different story to tell. As the story progressed the reader was drawn deeper into their lives and why they behaved as they did. It certainly kept my interest. I loved the character of Nanna Jean and her comedy input and straight talking. Family life was superbly portrayed- the chaos, the lighthearted sibling bickering and teasing and above all the love they had for each other.
Ross and Lucy’s developing affection for each other was well written and Lucy’s lonely life brought a tear to my eyes. I loved the festive atmosphere that the author created through the Christmas preparations and the snowstorm. I think It’s one of the best Christmas stories Sarah Morgan has written and I’ve read them all. I highly recommend this book for a big dose of Christmas spirit, romance and family love.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for allowing me to read this book.
Another fab read from Sarah Morgan. She never disappoints. A wonderful storyline along with great characters which keep you turning the pages. A true slice of Christmas in a book.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in return for an honest review.
Siblings Ross, Alice and Clemmie have returned to their family home in the Scottish highlands for Christmas along with Alice’s boyfriend Nico. They all have their secrets which they don’t want to share with their family and are relying on each to deflect attention. Lucy Clarke is facing Christmas alone and potentially losing her job in the new year unless she can won a major piece of business from Ross Miller. She decides to leave a business proposal as she’s doesn’t want to intrude on the family but things don’t quite go according to plan. After a turn in the weather, they become snowed in, including Lucy.
I really enjoyed this novel. It’s a lovely heartwarming tale where you almost feel as if you’re part of the family. It has plenty of great characters, my favourite was Nanna Jean, and explores the relationships between family and siblings. It’s full of festive fun, humour and secrets and I enjoyed every page. Thank you to NetGalley, HQ and the author for the chance to review.
This book was a lovely fast read for me and very enjoyable, a lovely book for Christmas time of the year x
I love Sarah Morgan and this book is another great story. Full of interesting characters, captivating story lines and a Christmas theme. What’s not to love! Highly recommended.
I absolutely loved this warm, funny, uplifting Christmas read. Great characters, a wonderful family dynamic and idyllic setting. I really hope there’s another book as I’d love to know what happens next for the Millers.
What a truly beautiful Christmas book. I don’t think anyone could read this book and not feel excited for snow and Christmas.
Lucy works in marketing in London when her boss Annie takes ill with stress trying to save the business. Lucy travels to the highlands to promote a new product and see an opportunity to try to encourage Ross Miller businessman to use her company for marketing as he visits his family home for Christmas.
When Lucy suffers an accident while in the highlands she becomes involved in the lives of the whole Miller family.
The 3 children come home from London bringing with them all the drama in their life’s. Alice can’t decide if she’s ready to marry Nico, Clemmie has secretly been in love with Fergas since they were kids and Ross is married to his business.
Along with Mum Glenda and dad Douglas and not forgetting Nana Jean can they get there family on the right track.
I enjoyed every page and didn’t want it to end.
Thank you NetGalley for an ARC of the festive read.
This was a really easy read that I found myself really enjoying it. Some of the story lines were a little predictable but it was comforting and amusing in many ways. Nanna Jean was probably my highlight of this story. A great winter comfort read.
Good read. Great characters, enjoyed the setting, lots of side stories weaved into it and it flowed really well. A good read for a rubbish day. Will make you feel better!
This was the perfect Christmas read.
A family plus a couple of extras are snowed in for the days immediately before Christmas. The problem is that the grown-up siblings Ryan, Alice and Clemmie are all trying to avoid awkward questions from their parents which leads to misunderstandings all round. As I read it, I laughed, cringed at some of the actions taken and had a lump in my throat on several occasions.
I love the family relationships in this book. The bickering siblings who still always look out for each other feel very real as does Mum Glenda who feels guilty that her children don’t feel that they can’t talk to her. The comment “Your child is always your child, no matter how old they are. You want the best for them” stood out a mile for me as it is so true. That’s what I love about Sarah Morgan. Her characters feel like real people and do and say things that you can imagine being said by people you know.
The stand-out character for me is that of Nanna Jean who at 86, is not changing her attitudes towards anything and provides a lot of the comic relief in the book. She definitely reminds me of my own mother who is a very similar age and has a similar attitude to doing exactly what she wants.
It's a Christmas romance and we know how of the characters are likely to end up but it's how they arrive there that makes Sarah Morgan's books so special.
I loved this book and it has definitely put me in the mood for Christmas and making shortbread.
Thank you to Net Galley and the publishers HQ for my ARC in exchange for my honest opinion
Wow what a Christmas cracker of a read. I love the fact that the characters have flaws - this makes them so much more realistic and loveable. I love the setting - a real magical wonderland I would so love to visit. I love the way the characters interact and all their stories intermingle. I love the cosy Christmas feeling the story left me with and I love the underlying humour provided by Nana Jean.
Lucy lost her gran two years ago just after Christmas and now there is a real possibility that she may lose her job this Christmas. In the hope of securing a new account she visits the family home of the famous Ross Miller. He is home for Christmas with his siblings (Alice and Clemmie) and unbeknown to her she is part of a scheme to keep the parents happy. When she is invited in for a bit of Christmas hospitality she simply can not decline and then all hell breaks loose. In this short period of time the promised snow storm has arrived early and they are all 'Snowed in for Christmas'. As the story progresses each family member seems to reveal a secret and the excellent writting keep you gripped.
Another fantastic 5 star book from Sarah Morgan. Lucy is in advertising but in her bid to get a big account she travels to Scotland where she ends up being Snowed In with a family who is lovely but very dysfunctional. Can love abound at Christmas time? You’ll have to read this to find out but you won’t be disappointed. My only negative comment is that some of the chapters could have been shorter but that’s my preference. Thanks to Sarah and her publisher. Also thanks to NetGalley.
Everybody needs a Nanna Jean in their lives! What can I say other than this is my favourite Sarah Morgan book to date so far! I finished it in four hours and it made me smile, laugh, cringe and cry.
What a joy to read about Lucy's Christmas with the Millers, it felt like I was there too. Totally brilliant!
Quite a good read but not my normal type off book .but is worth having a read of it . Just depends if it's your type of book .
