This book was sent to me from the publishers in exchange for an honest review.
Firstly, where to start…..Lucy is courageous, smart, hard working but you could say very lonely… that was until she got snowed in with the Miller family….
I loved how each person had their own stories and I was gripped with each single person as I wanted them all to have their ‘happily ever after’ I was mostly routing for Lucy and Ross to form a relationship and not just a business relationship
This is the first book that I have read by Sarah Morgan but I will definitely be picking up another one of her books as I found her writing gripping and the storyline was easy to follow even when following different characters point of views….
I would recommend this book if you want a cozy book to cozy up by the fire around the Christmas period and get lost in a romance… has made me want shortbread and to see what the future could hold for these characters.
Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to read this arc.
Lucy hates Christmas now that she no longer has her beloved grandmother. She is also at risk of losing her job unless she can get a major piece of business from Ross Miller the owner of a prestigious sports brand.
Ross, alongside his sisters Alice and Clemmie, decided that he didn’t want to go in to the family business, Glen Shortbread. Alice is a busy doctor and Clemmie is a nanny. With the 3 of them being based in London they are all going home for Christmas.
Lucy decides that as she’ll be in Scotland anyway she’ll deliver her proposal to his family home in the Scottish Highlands and then leave. However she gets mistaken as Ross Millers girlfriend and by the time the confusion has been cleared up she finds herself snowed in with the Miller family with tensions bubbling within the family.
I loved reading this book. I am not a big fan of Christmas myself but I do love reading a Christmas book. Sarah Morgan has this way of bringing the characters and the Christmas period to life. I can honestly say that I have never read a book by this author that I haven’t enjoyed and this one is definitely up there with some of my favourite Christmas reads as it’s a throughly enjoyable book.
My favourite character: Nanna Jean but Hunter comes in at a close second.
If Christmas was packaged up and popped in a book, this would be the book! Full of Christmas magic, so much so that you can almost taste the shortbread and hot chocolate as you sit in the worlds most comfy chair watching the snow fall outside! Absolutely perfect 🤩 Christmas isn’t Christmas without a Sarah Morgan book to snuggle up with and this one doesn’t disappoint. I know feel very Christmassy even though it’s August and 24 degrees outside. Recommended to get you in the festive mood.
Wonderful festive read - in August!
Told from multiple view points, I loved the cast in this novel. Captivating characters and fully fleshed out. I completely empathised with each viewpoint and loved how they worked out to the resolution in the end.
This brought the magic, and interactions at Christmas and has me itching to get my decorations out! I will definitely be reading some of this authors other Christmas novels, but perhaps closer to December lol.
Yet another super Sarah Morgan book. I'm always so happy to see one of her books come up on the list.
This is a lovely stroy of family and romance all mixed together with snowy scenery. Lucy arrives on th e doorstep to offer a marketing proposal to Ross, but somehow ends up, due to snow, being part of their family Christmas.
Sarah's books are always so readable and so true to life. Thank you to NetGalley for a review copy of the book which I enjoyed immensely.
Everything you could want from a cosy winter romance- mistaken identify, family secrets, fantasticfood and drink, warmth, love and of course blossoming feelings!
couldn't ask fora more perfect winter read!
Certainly a Christmas cracker, a fabulous festive book I immersed myself in completely. I very much enjoyed reading it.
I laughed, I cried, I wanted to be part of the Miller family and spend Christmas with them.
Lucy Clarke is sent from her marketing agency job to Scotland to take reindeer photos for a client, to promote on social media. She also has plans to drop by the Miller household, to hand them a marketing proposal she has been working on before heading home. She desperately wants to win the marketing account, for Ross’s company.
Lucy has never met the Millers, should she really be heading to their home to hand deliver? will her gamble pay off?
Ross, Alice and Clemmie are the Miller siblings. What do they need to discuss prior to heading to their childhood home In Scotland for Christmas?
Meanwhile Glenda, Douglas their parents and Nanna Jean are hotly anticipating the return of the family.
The understanding, warmth, love and humour for me shone through. It depicts family loyalty, friendship, and thinking about others.
It’s easy to get the feel of the characters, and I loved Nanna Jean.
Book me in for Christmas with them please.
Thank you NetGalley and HQ for an e-book. Opinions are my own.
Thank you for allowing me to review this Christmas story by Sarah Morgan. Her Christmas stories are always a good read. The storyline is predictable, however the background themes are well written. These themes cover many issues that face families at different stages of life, including aging, marriage, parenthood, bereavement, respect, sibling rivalry etc. I enjoyed the book, and i found it very heart warming and made me think about my own family and he expectations placed upon different members, at different stages of life..
Do read this book and share it with your family.
I absolutely love Sarah Morgan's festive books. They are so magical and this one was amazing, loved the story and the characters will definitely re read come December
Without doubt this is the best Sarah Morgan Christmas book yet! I loved it from start to finish. The seasonal descriptions of fireside’s, shortbread and real fires made me forget I was reading it in July! It also has a great Scottish setting complete with snow and reindeer. I particularly loved Glenda and Nanna Jean: the wisdom and humour from these characters is fantastic. I felt sad to finish it. I’ll be buying this for a few people this year, ,it’s the perfect Christmas present.
The advertising company that Lucy works for badly needs to attract new accounts. She becomes involved with Ross, a workaholic who runs his own business, and is determined that he runs his next media campaign with her company.
While Lucy is expecting to spend Christmas alone, Ross and his sisters will be spending time with their parents in the family home. She decides to leave a proposal for Ross at his home, regarding a potential new media campaign. But suffering an accident is unable to leave.
There is a warm, welcoming feel as the family gather to enjoy the festivities, along with lots of humour. Set in beautiful snowbound Scotland, the story explores family dynamics and relationships, with warm hearted Glenda and her husband, their three adult children, and acerbic mother in law, Nanna Jean. All have their secrets which are explored as the story unfolds.
Have enjoyed several previous books by Sarah Morgan, and they are always a pleasure to read. Characters are well drawn and entertaining, written so skilfully they come alive on the page.
I recommend this book for its entertaining plotline, warm, welcoming atmosphere, great to read at Christmas or any time. Highly recommended.
I really enjoyed last years christmas book so decided to give this one a go. It did not disappoint! Reading christmas books in the summer has become my new tradition!
There is something magical about reading a Christmas-y story in a heatwave in the middle of summer. And when you can instantly visualise the snow, deep and crisp and even, you know you’ve got a good read ahead of you. Lucy Clarke is desperate to help her boss try to save the company she loves working for, and is prepared to go to great lengths to do it, including travelling from London to Scotland so close to Christmas to hand deliver an solicited proposal. The Millers seem to have it all, a close knit family, healthy relationships between the siblings and great parents but no one really knows what goes on in anyone else’s relationships or even in anyone else’s mind.
I love Sarah Morgan’s books, especially the Christmas themed ones. You know you are going to get great characters, descriptive settings, readable storylines and - no spoiler - a happy ending or two. This book is no exception. Yes there is one fairly unlikely happenstance meeting but it’s definitely ‘meetcute’ (and The Holiday is one of my favourite films). So, if you’re in need of a really good, satisfying read, I’d recommend this for all seasons.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book.
An absolute delight! Great characters and a beautifully described location. I really enjoyed this book. Brilliant storyline with all the ends tied up. 😍
Another really lovely Christmas read by Sarah Morgan. I'm not sure Christmas would be Christmas without a Sarah Morgan read. This one is romantic, fun, cosy and enjoyable. I really liked it.
A warm hearted enjoyable Christmas novel that contains a nice twist in the premise that draws the reader in to enjoy the mild confusion and assumptions that ensue. Lucy, a media promotion specialist, is under pressure to secure the huge business account belonging to Ross Miller, or the company she works for will go under. With a deadline looming, she takes desperate measures and plans to drop off her proposal to Ross’s family house in Scotland where his parents and siblings are gathered to celebrate Christmas. He and his siblings all have their own family pressures and issues about their marital status and lack of children that have often led them to exaggerate the truth, avoid discussions about it, or lie outright. This Christmas, each have developed a new approach that eventually creates more complications for all of them. Cue a snow storm that compels everyone to face the core issues that have made them stuck for years and you have a Christmas that is unforgettable. Though the set up may have been drawn out just a little, the characters are nicely drawn and sympathetic and each point of view allows an insight into the events and characters that only enhance the enjoyment of the story.
Plot: The Miller family Siblings, Ross, Alice and Clemmie all have their own secrets and trying to keep them from their parents over the Christmas period is going to be difficult. Lucy wants to win the marketing account for Ross' lucrative company, Miller Active so much so that she decides a trip to Scotland to personally deliver her marketing proposal to Ross while he enjoys a family Christmas seems like a good idea. That is until they all end up snowed in.
Review: This is another amazing Sarah Morgan Christmas novel. It had a lovely storyline and was just perfect for snuggling up for a read with a cup of Tea for the festive season. The characters were all flawed in their own ways but were so likeable. I would highly recommend it.
This is a lovely Christmas story which encompasses the theme of family really well and it's warm and funny, both at the same time. It reminded me a lot in places of the film While you were sleeping - the family scenes. The hilarity, the family dynamics, the warmth and frustration of being together. I loved that film and I loved this book, although it's a different story, it definitely has the same time. Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for letting me review this book.
I loved reading this one! Got me all set up for Christmas. It was a lovely story about the Miller Family and Lucy whom turns up just before Christmas. The relationship between them all develops over the few days. Loved the dynamic between Alice, Clemmie and Ross. The stand out person within it all was of course Nana Jean! Perfect start to the Christmas holidays
I LOVE reading Sarah Morgan’s books! This one did not disappoint! This fabulous and heart warming book about a family snowed in with an unexpected guest will definitely get you in the Christmas mood!
My thanks to net galley and publisher for the opportunity to review this ARC.
