A cute and entertaining Christmas rom-com that deals with miscomunication and the world of talent shows.
I enjoyed the story and rooted for the characters.

Many thanks to the publisher for this arc, all opinions are mine

3.5/5 stars.
This was a cute and cosy read. It has put me in the Christmas spirit, which is just what I needed.
However, if you don’t like the miscommunication trope, you will not like this book. All of the conflict in this story was due to miscommunication between our two main characters and I really didn’t enjoy this aspect. It happened multiple times throughout the book, and it infuriated me at times.
All together, this a cute Christmassy read that will give you the vibes that you need, but avoid if you dislike miscommunication in romance books.

This is such a cute Christmassy read! I read The Christmas Swap last year and loved it and was so thrilled to be able to get an ARC for this one via NetGalley thank you to @hodderbooks for a copy of this book!
Max has had a lot of heartache in his life and having a famous father in the same industry can at times not feel like an advantage. Max’s coping mechanism for his anxiety is to knit and I just adore that he puts his stresses in to creating something! Sadie has been trying to find her place in an overcrowded musical market to follow her dreams of being a singer. Max and Sadie have been thrown together to be #saxie and this book is such a whirlwind! I absolutely loved the up and downs and the misunderstandings!

Overall a perfect Christmassy read, make sure you add to your TBR for this Christmas!

This is such a theme of the year for me - read authors' previous book, love it, eagerly await another, be bitterly disappointed! It was partly the setting (it didn't initially appeal from the description but the setting of The Holiday Swap didn't either so I just went with it) and partly the characters. Just not feeling the spark of either Christmas magic or chemistry here, sadly.

📚BOOK REVIEW 📚

All I Want For Christmas @maggieknoxauthor

Thank you @netgalley @hodderbooks for an early advance copy of the lovely and heartwarming novel.

When Country Star Max Brody pairs with Sadie Hunter in the reality TV show, "Starmaker" their chemistry sets the gossip magazines a fire. Fans of the show are desperate for them to be a couple in real life. When the producers of the show suggest they fake being a couple in order to progress further in the show, sparks start to fly off stage.

It's a fun love story but at times the story can be a little frustrating with communication going awry, it's a light, easy read with likeable characters. I would recommend this book overall and did find it enjoyable.

I enjoyed this book and thought it was a cute Christmas romance novel that dealt with some important topics.

I did find the miscommunication aspects a bit too much and found they occurred too often for my personal preference.

Music and romance, snow and singing. All you need is a fire and hot chocolate and you will have a wonderful few hours reading this book. Nicely written with a few twists and turns to keep you going. Not overly Christmassy but a bit festive.

A lovely book with a great cast of characters. Beautifully written and I got really invested in the story. I would highly recommend reading this one. A clever, engrossing story with fabulous characters and a festive feel.

The miscommunication between Sadie & Max was really exasperating, due to which I couldn't even sympathize with both of them. And Max didn't even grovel in the end, Sadie just accepted him and said that it was her mistake too when he constantly misunderstood her, ghosted her and barely apologized. The plot had a lot of potential but NGL, this book didn't work for me.

This is a lovely Romance by the writing duo Maggie Knox who gave us the stunning Christmas themed romance in 2021, The Holiday Swap.

Like the Holiday Swap, this one is also set over the Festive Season and the imagery has me ready to be jolly, yet All I Want for Christmas is a very different tale. In this story we have an enemies to lovers romance set in the world of reality tv music competitions and our two MCs are rivals for the prize of this singing competition Sadie is a star on the rise, or would be if she could catch a break. Max grew up living in his father’s famous shadow and doesn’t have the best reputation. This competition is the last hope for both Sadie and Max. I’m not a big fan of adults who are as dramatic at this pair and perhaps such is the life of musicians. My only wish is that I would have loved to see more of the romance developing on the page (I can imagine on a tv show and all the time the cast spend together would result in what we see on the page, but I would have loved to those BTS moments on the page too. On the other side, the fun of being a reader is filling in those blanks for myself and making the story my own in a way. . If you love a sweet romance (min spice) and the enemies to lovers trope then this may be the book for you. I did prefer the Holiday Swap, but this will be a good December comfort read.

Thank you to NetGalley and the Publishers, Hodder and Stoughton for helping me get into the Christmas vibes with this ARC.

Two Nashville singers thrown together on a TV competion face a lot of ups and downs in the effort to reach stardom, Max who's famous dad name gives him a helping hand but Max is out to prove his own worth not that he's just the son of someone famous and Sadie who has been trying her whole life to put her name out there with many struggles along the way
Thrown together as a Duo rather than individual singers they get told to pretend they're in love in order to win the competition which they are not keen on
Really enjoyed this book and had to read it in one sitting

A huge thanks to the publisher for my complimentary copy and all opinions expressed are entirely my own.

Maggie Knox just knocked my socks off and made me believe in country music again and of course Christmas romance and I love it. All I want for Christmas tells the story of Sadie (aspiring breakout star ) and max (son of music legend and dog owner*swoon*) . Sadie and Max are selected to be contestants on a reality singing show STARMAKER and begrudgingly get paired up and somehow make up #Saxie. Their magic on stage is hard to ignore so they are paired up and the world cannot get enough . Throw in forced proximity , undeniable talent and a cute dog and you bound to get the love story of a lifetime. Absolutely obsessed with this book and love story. recommend it

This was such a lovely book to read, it has everything you want for Christmas and some of those things you don't too!
I found it an easy to read book, flicking between Sadie and Max's viewpoint from chapter to chapter gave much more feel to the story than had it just been told from one side. The characters were written so nicely that I found I was thinking about them when I had had to put the book down, wondering what would be happening with them when I was able to pick it up again!
I've not read either author before but with how much I enjoyed this book I shall be looking out for more collaborations as well as books by both Karma Brown and Marissa Stapley individually.

I found this to be a lovely read with strong, admirable characters. Perfect for those who love a quick read you can get through in a day or two! I do wish it had more of a Christmassy feel to it but the middle section of the book in particular made me feel all warm and cosy with it’s setting!

Here we go! My first Christmas read of the year and I'm sat with a load of mixed feelings.

First things first, I love the writing style. I found it very easy to read and managed the whole lot over the space of an evening and morning.

I also really enjoyed seeing things from both Sadie's and Max's pov. I felt it broke some parts up nicely for me.

I really enjoyed the show aspect of the book, and liked that it wasn't overly Christmassy, but at the same time it's one I'd have been more than happy to pick up come December.

My main issue with the book is that I found I didn't care much about the characters. I need to be able to connect or at least understand the reasons behind what's going on to really enjoy a book and sadly it missed its mark a bit for me. I'd have also liked to see more development with their relationship. I feel we didn't get to see them grow together.

I really wanted to love this book, but for me the characters just pulled it down to a 3.5 rating. It's still a fun and happy read that had me smiling like an idiot at the end and one I'd recommend to lovers of romance books.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing an eArc for an honest review.

I love festive books and enemies to lovers is one of my fave tropes, so this was a must read for me.

It was christmassey, cute and a fast read, Perfect for winter notes when cosy with a blanket. The Sadie and Max stardom plot was a personal fave of mine, I love books with music/tv/film settings, and the rivalry on the show was humorous at times. Although they ‘hated’ each other, their performance chemistry was sizzling!

One of my first Christmas reads in 2022 !

Maggie Knox you hooked me, I am in for your books <3 (Already on my way to buy The Holiday Swap!)

Sadie and Max are so well written, you fall for them in the first pages and want this never to end. It's well paced, lovely and plenty of Christmas spirit.

What not to like in this novel ?

Thank you to Netgalley for providing an eArc in exchange for an honest review.

This was a lovely sweet Christmas read. I really enjoy books that have fake dating and enemies to lovers so this was a good book for me. There was many highs and many lows in the book where the main characters both had to learn to communicate better. I couldn't put it down but at the same time wanted to shake the characters.

Over all I enjoyed it and would recommend for a Christmas read.

When Sadie and Max are selected as contestants on the famed reality singing show Starmaker, each thinks they've finally gotten their big Nashville break. But then they're paired up for duet week and stun the world with their romantic onstage chemistry. With fans going wild for #Saxie the network demands that they remain a duo on and offstage, or exit the competition. Faking a relationship until their final performance in the Starmaker holiday special shouldn't be too hard, except for one small problem--Sadie and Max can't stand each other.

But with their dreams just within reach, they agree to the ruse. Will their fake relationship be exposed before they can win? Or will an unexpected trip to Banff spark real feelings by the Christmas finale?

Thank you to Maggie Knox and Hodder & Stoughton for gifting me this eARC as a pre release!

Maggie Knox is an Author I have always wanted too read a book by, in actual fact on my Goodreads, her "The Holiday Swap" was the first book I ever put onto my "Want to read", so you can imagine my excitement when I saw her latest book on Netgalley and better yet, get accepted for it!!!

Needless too say, this book was brilliant, it wasn't too overly 'Christmas' which was good considering I've read it in September! However, I still wouldn't have been disappointed if I had read it nearer too Christmas as it still had that kinda vibe!

Maggie Knox is one talented writer, who can certainly keep a great well structured storyline throughout which is an amazing talent too have.

I enjoyed this book and would give it 3 stars because although it was great, I didn't quite have that thing about it that made me want too rate it a 4 or 5 although albeit close too getting it from me!

Frothy Romcom..
As the festive season arrives, so does the reality television show - Starmaker - indeed, a special festive edition of the singing sensation. When Sadie and Max are both selected will sparks fly or will the relationship continue as an audience grabbing fake? A fun and frothy romcom and a dose of pure escapism.
