This was fairly mediocre for me unfortunately, I would like to give it 2.5 so I'll round up to 3 stars.

The blurb mentions an unimaginable crime happening but that doesn't occur until over 50% of the way through. That's a lot of scene setting and a not very enjoyable introduction to the characters. None of them are particularly likeable so it's hard to feel any empathy when the crime happens. If your used to reading thrillers then it's fairly easy to spot where the plot is going so the title isn't very apt, and to be honest the slow start doesn't make it particularly thrilling.

I would read a whole book about Riona as she was the only character that kept my interest, and I feel like her back story was very quickly glossed over so that they could get the "bad guy".

This is a great book. It starts off a little bit slower but then it builds up. It was a bit predictable in places.
It talks about mental health issues. It is well written and well researched.

I wasn’t completely taken with this especially at the beginning. Its a good family drama but too many characters at times and I had to keep rereading bits to understand what was happening. There was definitely twists and turns and worth a read but not the best one for me from this author.

Thank you Netgalley

This one was such a hard one to put down, it's immersive and emotional with family dramas. Heartstopping moments made it a nice slow read.

This was an okay read but it really was just okay. The plot is reasonable, it starts off a bit odd and I was not sure what was going to happen - the blurb really does not give much away. The plot then begins but I just found the whole thing a bit off and not particularly exciting or surprising. There was not much in this that kept my attention, everything just felt a bit average. The characters are okay but not particularly likeable and some of their decisions do not seem to fit with what we know of their character. This was an okay read but not my favourite from Lewis.
Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins UK for an advance copy.

A horrific crime has been committed and everyone is looking for someone to blame. Her loved ones are under suspicion, Hanna must find out who is threatening her family before it's too late.

A slow burner to begin with, but I like that as it gave me time to get to know the characters.

I did find myself hooked with it's surprising twists and no I did not see the end coming!!

Another great book by the amazing Susan Lewis.

I find Susan's most recent books a little to slow to start with but by the time you reach 70% then I cannot stop reading and this one was no different. Hana and her family are the characters in this story, while the perpetrator is alluded to you don't know until the end who did it. I enjoyed the last quarter which is why I only gave 3 stars

No One Saw It Coming - what a tough book to get into. It felt very hard going to begin with. There's a lot of characters so a lot to focus on a lot of the time. However, by about 30% of the way through I stopped paying attention to how far through I'd got and actually started to enjoy the book.

The characters are all totally unlikeable, which is pretty standard in a thriller genre and I like that - I liked Cait's unpredictable nature. Leo's aggression. I did not like Hanna OR JACK. But they all kept me reading on.

I do love an alternate chapter though, an unreliable narrator is one of my favourite things in this genre, and I couldn't get enough of those chapters, albeit small.

I'd definitely give this book a recommendation, but I think it might be a bit difficult for those who aren't usually subject to this genre to get into!

I have read Susan Lewis's books for years and am rarely disappointed. Haven't read one in quite a while though. I was looking forward to reading this book. For some reason this one didn't grab me in the same way. I couldn't warm to the characters for some reason. I didn't see the twist in the tale coming and it didn't quite sit right with me. Seemed a little improbable and made the ending feel quite rushed.

Another fantastic book by Susan Lewis. Hannah and Jack have the perfect live, a great marriage, good jobs and a great son, their daughter however is struggling with mental health issues and has a young daughter whom she is trying to do her best by. When their best friend Seb meets Riona and brings her into their lives all looks great.

A well written noveĺ good character development more than justifies the length. You are hooked on discovering everything the secrets that are holding and ultimately who is responsible for this unforseen tragedy. A real pleasure to read thank you to net gallery for my arc. Highly recommended

I am always excited when a new Susan Lewis book is published ad this one certainly didn’t disappoint and was full of the usual drama and suspense. The story centres around Jack and Hannah Madden who are a very wealthy and successful couple with an open marriage. They have two adult children Caitlin, who has a young child, and Leo. Seb, their long term friend and godfather of Caitlin, is widowed and has just met Riona through a dating website. Riona is a therapist and as she becomes friends with Hanna she is persuaded to work with Caitlin and her problems. A shocking crime witnessed by Caitlin and Leo lead to a series of events that threatens the family. It was good to see characters from Susan’s previous books make an appearance. I found I couldn’t put this book down as it had some shocking twists and an exciting ending. Another brilliant read from Susan Lewis.
Thanks to Netgalley and Harper Collins for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.
