Ahh this was so good! I can't wait to read the rest of this book. The first chapter really drew me in straight away. I love Rosie's sense of humour, she is really fun to read. And Lucas seems cheeky and I don't think he's going to let her live that down for a long time!

I loved Spanish Love Deception so when I saw that she had pre-released her first chapter of a new book I was immediately excited.

This chapter was so good, I was disappointed it was only one chapter to be honest!! I didn't want it to finish, I needed to know what happened. This, I have a feeling, will be forced proximity, which makes me so excited. I can't wait for this book to come out and to finish it!!!

I was sent the first few pages of the American Roommate Experiment to read and review and I now can’t wait to read the full thing! After finishing the Spanish Love Deception earlier this year and seeing that Elena Armas had another book coming out, I really didn’t think it could match up to how much I enjoyed her first. However, after reading the first few pages of this new book I am so excited for its release date! Rosie and Lucas seem like fun, easy to like characters and I can’t wait to see where they end up in the American Roommate Experiment. I loved the mentions of Aaron and Catalina, and have my fingers crossed we’ll hear a few more bits about them throughout the book!

What an absolutely superb start! One line in and I was already hooked - I NEED MOREE!! September 6th can honestly not come quick enough. When I physically have this book in my hands, I know for a fact that I will not shut up about it. And you won't be able to make me, okay?

How can Elena Armas have me so in love with two characters after a mere handful of pages?!
I already adored Rosie in The Spanish Love Deception, and now to have a WHOLE book dedicated to her?? Absolute magic. It's going to be a wonderful month folks.

After reading this chapter, I felt myself entirely hooked on to the story. I was laughing like crazy, highlighting passages, grinning like a fool - it was a great time. And I cannot wait to read more.

I loved this chapter sampler! I was immediately hooked on the story and could sense from the writing that the sexual tension between the characters is going to make for addictive reading. I already feel like this a story that I would enjoy , romcom are amazing to me and this will not disappoint, I think its going to be a very popular book , characters already I really like , defiantly up there with Christina Lauren .

The Spanish Love Deception is one of my favourite reads, so I was very excited to get a sneak preview at Elena Armas' new book. It has a promising opening and Rosie seems like such a likeable character which means I'm guaranteed to like her story. I'm already hooked after 1 chapter and I can't wait to read more!

I'm sorry to say I'm not impressed with the beginning of the book. The first chapter is over written with the author desperately trying to be funny and dramatic and it ends up being the other way. This is probably a "it's me, not the book" situation.

Brilliant chapter sample, I loved The Spanish Love Deception and I couldn’t wait to read this next book too! The sample is a great teaser and I can’t wait to read the rest of the novel! Elena Armas is the queen of quirky contemporary fiction!

After this one chapter, I am already hooked, intrigued and now patiently waiting! Is it possible to even give 1 chapter a 5 stars...I think so in this case!

As if I wasn't excited enough for this already, the first chapter only made me want to read it more. I can't wait to get to know Rosie and Lucas more and to see how the characters and their chemistry evolve throughout the book. If the Spanish Love Deception and this first chapter was anything to go by I am definitely going to love this book.

Having started The Spanish Love Deception and sadly DNFing it part way through because I was didn’t vibe with it 😩, I was very curious to see what Elena Armas’s other book was like.

For me the issue I had with TSLD was the writing style, which I wasn’t the biggest fan of (although m I am willing to give it another go), HOWEVER after only reading one chapter of this I can confidently say that the style of writing used in this book is certainly better! If you were like me and struggled a little with TSLD, don’t be put off by that, and maybe give this one a go.
Im definitely invested in Rosie and Lucas now I’ve read the first chapter and so chances are I will be buying this when it gets released 😂

I will say though that this book does contain some references to TSLD although you don’t need to have have read TSLD in order for it to make sense or anything like that (but it may slightly spoil what happens in TSLD)

Super excited to get my hands on this when it’s released soon on the 6th September and I really hope it lives up to my expectations!

Gosh I am SO excited for this book! When I came to the end of this sampler I was gutted and I was desperate to see where this story would be going. It gave me such good vibes in only a handful of pages - I know I’m going to love it.

This first chapter was full of hilarious moments that made me laugh out loud in the middle of a tube ride. I got some weird looks my way, but I was too busy laughing to care. If the first chapter is already like this, I can't wait to read the rest of the book and about Rosie and Lucas' relationship.

The chapter sampler for The American Roommate Experiment sets the scene well through Rosie's point of view and introduces the reader to the facts that her apartment is inhabitable, she's currently staying at a friend's apartment who is away and said friend's cousin has come to the apartment. Rosie initially assumes an intruder is trying to break in but after a short exchange with him, she realises that she's made a mistake and that this is actually the man she's been waiting to meet - Lucas Martin.
