OMG. I need this book, like right now. A cute Spanish boy at your door? Who could ask for more. Not me, that's why I'll be setting a reminder on my phone for September 6th xx

Omg just from the chapter sampler, I’m hooked! I love that she already knows who he is but he doesn’t know her…and I'm excited to see them share the apartment!
Need to read this book ASAP!

Great first chapter introduction.

Cannot realty say much as this is a very short chapter but it does indeed have my attention. Not overly complicated, shows humour already which is a great sign.

Plus, if it is anything like The Spanish Love Deception that means this one’s going to be amazing as well.
It is the writing style that makes a book amazing in my opinion.

A great first chapter. Looking forward to reading the rest of the book. I've never read this author before. So far from what I've read I like her style. Five stars for the first chapter

Really promising opening. Found the luck description a bit repetitive to have so close together in the same chapter but still a very enjoyable comedic scene. Definitely relies a bit on the reader having read Spanish Love Deception and I’m not sure it would have the same effect on the reader reading this scene without the context of who the characters are.

It’s hard to review based on one chapter but I’m definitely intrigued and I will be reading on. So for a first chapter, it did it’s job to hook me

Thank you to net gallery and Sim and Schuster for this chapter sampler!
Even just after this one chapter i am invested and can't wait to read the rest of The American Roommate Experiment. Rosie is such a likeable character already. I'm sure the rest of the book will be as good as this chapter was.

This first chapter got me hooked. I loved the characters, especially Rosie as she seems witty, funny and a bit chaotic. I expect her being chaotic and witty will play into the plot as the book progresses. I also loved how engaging the chapter was from the very first page, which definitely captured my attention and made me want to read the rest of the book so badly. I really prefer this engagement from the very beginning rather than a slow burn in romance books. Can't wait now for the release!
I only hoped that the sample was a bit longer but honestly can't wait to read the book now. Thank you Simon & Schuster for a sneak peek!

Very excited for this book just from the first chapter! I haven't read The Spanish Love Deception but I will make sure I do before the release of The American Roommate Experiment as I have already fallen in love with Elena Armas' writing.

I really enjoyed this sample chapter and love that we get straight into how the characters meet and the way they meet, sets the book up for a really good book with some really dynamic characters.
.
I had no idea that this book existed in the same universe as the Spanish love deception when I requested it, which was a nice surprise!

Rosie and Lucas seem like they are going to have a completely different dynamic than Aaron and Lina, which makes me really intrigued to be able to read on and see how they develop as individuals and a pair and the story line they will follow.

Overall, this is a great opening chapter and it has hooked me and I can't wait to read on!

I absolutely adore this first chapter. What a way to start the book. I feel I must read on, and find out all about these two likeable characters.

This chapter sampler was a lot of fun for me. It made me smile because of how hectic Rosie and Lucas' first meeting was. And if their interactions continue to hurt my cheeks for the rest of the book, I will die of happiness. I don't mind if this is a slow burn because I already adore the characters and their relationship even though they aren't together yet. I've just met Lucas, but he's already ten times better than Aaron. Rosie is already chaotic, so I expect a lot of fun in their relationship. I have nothing negative to say because this chapter sampler was splendid! I'm not sure if this book will have a dual POV, I hope it does but, if not I'll still enjoy it. I'm quite excited to purchase this book when it officially releases.

Okay, I absolutely need more of this! I’m already hooked from chapter one! Rosie is funny and endearing and I can’t wait to learn more about her, and I know I’m going to love Lucas and their relationship is going to be great.

I also loved that it jumped straight into the story, into the characters meeting. Hard to gauge off just the first chapter but I’m excited to read when it comes out!

Thank you NetGalley and Simon and Schuster UK for the chapter sampler!

Just a disclaimer: when i requested this, I assumed the sampler was a lil bit longer than a single chapter, so trying to gauge how to rate this isn’t easy. Originally I decided on three but ive changed it to four because I did really like this, but my rating is definitely subject to change when i read the whole book.

But, I can definitely give my brief thoughts instead.

(also, side-note: I have never read The Spanish Love Deception so my brief thoughts here are in no way influenced by the previous book).

⟡ it was immediately engaging— it was unique and fun, and i found myself laughing a few times.

⟡ Rosie was funny, charming and endearing. she was witty and maybe a bit quirky, but in a cute way. i instantly liked her!

⟡ Lucas seemed lovely with a humorous energy about him and quite playful.

⟡ the book jumps right into story straight away— i love when authors do this, rather then a slow build up. i just want to be in on the important stuff straight away, otherwise im bored to tears waiting for something to actually happen.

⟡ Rosie and Lucas’ first interaction, again, was pretty funny. it wasn’t trying too hard to be quirky, but instead felt authentic in a way that showcased both MCs personalities.

It’s safe to say I definitely want to read this when the rest is released, despite having zero interest in TSLD. And that’s saying something because I didn’t know until the final few lines that the hero has the same name as one of my brother and i have a severe aversion to reading romances where the hero has one of my brothers’ names... I always have, it’s just weird to me. I may be willing to make an exception just this once though!

thank you to NetGalley, and Simon and Schuster UK for the sneak peek!

Thank you Netgally and Simon and Schuster UK for giving me the chance to review this Chapter sampler.

From one chapter alone I am HOOKED! Rosie was instantly charming and likeable, Lucas seems so charming. The little snippets of Aaron and Catalina had me so excited I cannot wait to see them again. I really loved how it jumped straight into the story, on the edge of my seat waiting for 6th September! Can’t wait to read.

Great start to the book and already hooked in for the long haul after sampling chapter one!
Elena Armas writes with wit and has already created tension between the characters!
I think this will be even better than the Spanish Love Deception!

Firstly thank you netgalley for giving me the chance to review this chapter sampler.

From this sampler I am beyond excited to read the full book when it is released! I was laughing throughout with the banter and how Rosie got it all wrong from the start. Then when she realised her realisation was utterly hilarious!

This first chapter sucked me in straight away and I thoroughly enjoyed it. 5 stars from just the first chapter I would have happily kept reading!
