This was my second book by Beth Moran and I definitely found this one to be a lot better. From the start, Bea can be seen as a strong and intelligent woman preparing to return home for Christmas, the first time in 5 minutes. At her job, Bea suspects she is being sabotaged by a co-worker but does not take it very seriously.
After her perilous journey back home, Bea stumbles upon her meddling mother who is determined to play matchmaker during her holidays.
Bea finds Henry, her childhood frenemy, in her living room where it's explained he is working for her parents and living in the home until a separate property is ready for him. Bea takes this meddling with a grain of salt although she is not pleased about it.
Henry it seems, has changed dramatically since being a teenager and it confuses Bea on how handsome she finds him.
Now, reading the first 20% I felt Bridget Jones vibes. When Bridget arrived home in her cringy Christmas jumper to find Mark Darcy sitting at the table. They acknowledge each other but that is as far as it goes.
It was really nice reading this and noticing similarities.
Bea finds out she was offered a job interview for a large and notorious TV broadcasting company but had no idea about it. The only issue is that it is in Scotland and she had around 7 hours to get there. Henry is prepared to take the journey with her and witnessing their shifting change in their relationship was fantastic to read. Seeing flashbacks of previous encounters between the two provided well-needed context.
After a disastrous interview and a difficult journey home, Bea soon realises how happy Henry makes her but one intrusion prolongs the tension between the two - the return of Adam, Bea's childhood love whom she broke up with six months ago. Now, Beth Moran wrote his character perfectly. I honestly could not stand him. He was persistent and infuriating and this was shown in a change in Henry's behaviour but also in Bea's attitude towards her previous relationship.
I really loved this book. It has the perfect balance of Christmas, personal development and romance. I highly recommend this book. The only reason this is not 5 stars is that during parts I found the lack of communication to be frustrating.
Thank you Boldwood and NetGalley
Let It Snow is a cosy, festive story with quirky characters, lots going on, and sweet romance. I like the uniquely crafted characters, the wintery setting and the enemies to lovers romantic trope. The story unfolds with characters, events and locations that are easy to imagine because of the good sensory imagery. It's a little too complex and lengthy for a Christmas-themed read, but the characterisation, family drama, and humour make it worthwhile.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher.
Happy Pub Day!
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.
This book honestly was a little confusing and disorganized. I originally requested this book because I thought it was going to be a cute christmas romance. However, I was very wrong.
The first few chapters were a little boring but things picked up after it but then the last 80% was so hard to get through. I started to just skim the pages from then on.
This book was more of a fiction rather than a romance. There were so many storylines going on at the same time. Bea, job, her grandmother, her parents, all had some kind of storyline which made it hard for me to focus. It would have been great if it focused on one thing. For example, just as the goodreads summary said, it would have been a really good romcom if the book was about Bea and Henry’s trip to Scotland. I think that bit was also misleading. The trip to Scotland was only 20% of the book.
Overall, I was not a big fan of the book except the Scotland part.
Thank you to Boldwood Books for a gifted copy of Let It Snow by Beth Moran. All opinions are my own.
When Bea returns home for Christmas the first time in years she is surprised to see her childhood nemesis also visiting her family. After spending a few days with Henry she starts to wonder if he really is her nemesis and does she really know him? After all, she does love Adam doesn't she?
Let It Snow is a cute Christmas story revolving around Bea's family and the school they run in their ancestral home. The story alternates between the present and the Bea's memories in the past.

Bea is dreading going home for the holidays after her split with her boyfriend of 12 years. She is thrilled when she gets a dream job interview in Scotland that will occur right in the middle of her holiday. However bad weather is coming and her nemesis Henry is the only person to take her to said dream interview. The snow will fly but will the sparks?
This book made major hallmark vibes. I loved the character of Henry. He was the best character in the book. Bea had some very questionable moments that made her borderline unlike able to me. I enjoyed this book and the sweet romance that it contained.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC!
Once again, a delightful story from Beth Moran! Her writing always makes me happy. This was a cozy Christmas tale with some quirky characters and a decent amount of character development.
My main issue was that there was just too much going on in this book for one story. It seemed like this could have been divided into at least two books and given those plot lines some room to breathe. I would have liked more development of the enemies>friends>lovers arc and maybe a dash of the family intrigue, but the addition of the resolution of past love, grandmas mystery baby daddy, and saving the school was a bit much in the end.
Perfect for the holidays. I felt like there was a lot going on but I really feel that if I read during the holidays it would have felt less chaotic because I would have been in the mood for the typical holiday chaos! Plan to reread to better enjoy during the holiday season!
Great festive reading with unexpected depths!!
Although the book felt predictable to begin with, once it took off with snow and an hilarious trip to Scotland with lots of differing tangents I was hooked!
Bea Armstrong, local weather girl is struggling with her job since she broke up with her long-term unreliable boyfriend. She is going home to her family for a well needed and long awaited Christmas with all the games and traditions she has been missing.
The story takes many twists and unexpected turns. The characters have depth and history, and so brilliant to get to know them a little more!
All in all a fab festive read and well recommended. Warm and cosy, this is one to make you smile!!
Thank you Boldwood books and NetGalley for the early read!!
'Let it snow' is mainly set in Scotland around Christmas time.
I was expecting a typical girl meets boy romance, but this book is soo much more than that with many layers and wonderful quirky characters. It has the themes of family, community and of course romance flowing through the whole book.
This book was fun to read and to me was the 'full package' it was fun to read & made me smile.
I would definitely recommend this book.
Thanks to netgalley and Boldwood Books for this advance read.
Such a a fabulous festive story and can we take a minute to admire how gorgeous the cover is!?
Bea is on her way home for Christmas . Shes been putting of going home because of a break up and didn't want to hear the told you sos.
Henry Fairfax is her insufferable family friend who her parents have always wanted her to marry. Whilst home she receives an interview for her dream job in Scotland. Because she doesn't have a car it is decided that Henry will drive her. With two days at such close proximity to Henry she might just have to admit that she may not be as insufferable as she had first thought!
Bea is on a mission to get her dream job, and is stuck with Henry helping her out to get there. Her parent's always wanted her to end up with Henry, so will this be the chance for them to become more than childhood enemies?
A great read.
A heartwarming Christmas story. Bea Armstrong discovers the importance of being true to yourself and that spending Christmas with her family is everything.
This book it’s definitely a lovely Christmas read. It was good guessing what bee would choose in the end and follow her heart or not. The ending was amazing. This was a lovely read
What a great, feelgood Christmas read! Full of fun characters and descriptions of family dynamics we will all recognise. Beth Moran has a real talent for pace when it comes to Christmas tales and I loved it.
Thank you netgalley and Boldwood books for the ARC of this title in exchange for an honest review.
It was okay. To be completely honest I lost interest at the half way mark. I really had to force myself to finish it. Such a bummer because I really Enjoyed Just The Way You Are.
This is my second read from Beth Moran, and while her books seem to be listed more as women’s fiction than romance, I would disagree and say they are just plain good, wholesome (clean), Hallmark type feeling romances with true gentlemen heroes and strong leading ladies who can take care of themselves! … the hallmark comment perhaps because both of her books read now were Christmas? I’m really going to have to read her other novels, and that was a complete coincidence! I loved the first one I read (Christmas Every Day), so jumped on the opportunity for the ARC of Let it Snow!
Let it Snow features another really strong female character who doesn’t follow her family expectations and branches out on her own, dating the “bad boy” and not marrying the one they expect her to (in fact, develops a major dislike for him). After her bad boy lets her down over and over, they split after 12 years, she’s coming home for Christmas and not only does she bump into him again, but her parents have invited the other guy too (the unlikeable bloje)… but now she has a job interview to disrupt the Christmas plans and Henry is the only one who can drive her there, in the middle of bad weather (oh, and look, there’s her work nemesis, too!). We can see where this is going? Except, Moran is such a clever writer, she’ll keep you guessing what’s next!
A definite recommendation for everyone, a great feel-good holiday read! (It’s clean romance with some kissing so it is definitely for everyone, and has that Hallmark movie feeling)
I received an advance copy from NetGalley and Boldwood Books, and this is my honest feedback.
This book was a miss for me. The beginning started well and I was enjoying the Christmas vibes but 3 day job interview took me out of the story. This book was very long and drawn out and the romance took too long to develop. This book unfortunately won’t make my Christmas romance recommendations.
Let it Snow by Beth Moran follows weather girl Bea Armstrong who has been avoiding her family after the break up with her long-time boyfriend. With Christmas approaching, Bea is on her way home to Charis House, the school in Sherwood Forest that her parents run for "problem" children. Unbeknownst to Bea, her childhood betrothed, Henry Fairfax, has also been invited. Bea's mom has a strict agenda for the Christmas festivities that she has no interest in participating. At the seemingly last minute, Bea is invited to interview for her dream job, only it is in Scotland, she has no car and there is a storm on the way. The only solution is for Henry to drive her....could this Christmas get any worse?
This book gave me Bridget Jones mixed with Hallmark vibes with quirky characters and quick wit. Bea's character goes through a transformation of what she wants in life and what is actually important.
Thank you to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for an advanced digital copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Let It Snow is my first Christmas read of the year and I quite enjoyed it. It is a sweet tale with all the elements I would expect from a romantic Christmas tale.
Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for my ARC.
2.5...mainly because it has a gorgeous cover
I wanted to like this book, I really did, it sounded like such a good read when I requested it, but I really struggled with it. Honestly, I thought that Bea's treatment of Henry in the past was unforgivable and it soured her character for me, as nice as she was the present day, I couldn't warm to her because of that. Also I think that Jed and Bea's snooping around Nana Joy's personal life was a bit rude. I get why they were doing it to an extent but it wasn't their secret to uncover. I don't think I'd have been as forgiven and their parents and Nana Joy. Henry was an absolute sweetheart though. I loved him. Overall, this book just wasn't for me.
