I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and thepublishers.

Puppy Club: Lulu's Big Surprise is a really cute series starter about Jaya and her friends who are really wanting to have a puppy of their own. They have set up their own club - a puppy Club, to enable them to learn all about puppies and how to care for them. Jaya's aunt runs a dog rescue centre and when she receives a dog called Lulu who is pregnant with puppies, Jaya and her friends launch a mission - Operation Paw-fect Puppy. They are going to use this opportunity to persuade their parents into letting them have puppies of their own from Lulu. But will they be able to prove themselves as responsible and dedicated puppy owners to their parents?
Jaya and her friends are such a lovely little group of children. They support each other and help each other all the time and I thought the book was great for any child who really wants a puppy of their own. It helps them see what a huge responsibility have a dog can be but is a fun and cute read at the same time.

First up, thank you for allowing me to read this one! However we just didn't click. The promise of cute puppers was a big reason I wanted to read this, but I am just in no way in the mood for kids forcing their parents to accept their wishes. I have tried reading bits and pieces, but I just couldn't get into it.
Two stars for puppies and cute art.

What a wonderful chapter book! It reminded me how much I wanted to have a puppy when I was a child. I'm definitely going to recommend it to others.

Four stars instead of five because I didn't like the illustrations.

Thank you so much to Stripes Publishing/ Little Tiger Group and Netgalley for the ebook to read and review.

Jaya and her group of friends are all dog and puppy crazy but none of them have a puppy for their own. Jaya’s aunt gets a dog rescue come in that is pregnant with six puppies and all the children decided to find a way to convince their parents to let them each have one of her puppies.

I really loved the group of friends they were all so individual and different to each other which have their friendship group such an amazing dynamic. They were the perfect group of best friends. I adored how much they wanted to help each other and help find ways to convince their parents.

They were all really smart and responsible children and I like that even though they were it wasn’t an easy yes from their parents as having a dog is a responsibility, I love that is book will teach that to children reading that may also be wanting a puppy.

I do highly recommend this book, its a great young reader book, it’s really easy and fun to read, the characters are all amazing, the illustrations are beautiful and it teaches them a lot about puppies and care for puppies but in a really fun way.

Oh my woofy word... a super cute story with a gorgeous collection of characters. Male and female members of the puppy club, are puppy obsessesed. When one of the rescue dogs has puppies... will they be able to persuade their parents to adopt one?
Seamless integration of puppy facts, particualarly the huge responsibility re adopting one, is nicely done!
A great transition book for those moving onto chapter books, great for Year 2s in particular.
