i received this from netgalley. The opinions are my own.

I was completely confused on a good portion on what was even going on. it follows seiki and Arima, who are in a m/m relationship. They both have had abusive past relationships. One of my biggest issues is that even for it being a manga volume it's very short, 34 pages short. To be honest I would have to read more volumes to even know if I would recommend this to others because it doesnt make sense where it left off and I am confused exactly what is going on.

It protrays the main relationship in a both sexualized and infantilized way that I was really uncomfortable with. The story also confused me at times. The art was nice enough. 3 out of 5 stars.

I was really lost and confused. It seemed like this wasn't volume one or that pages are missing. Don't know what else to say here, maybe the copy I got was missing something?

I tried to read this and as someone who is a fan of Sachi Murakami I was looking forward to this. However, unfortunately, the quality of the images were not as clear as they could have been and the story felt prozaic and uninteresting.

Good first chapter. The characters are good so far. The story has a lot of potential. Very interested to read more.

First of all I want to thank netgalley for providing me with this manga.

The manga tells us the story of Arima and Saeki.
Saeki has a quite complicated love past, which means that every time Arima is kind to him, it causes mixed feelings, since with his ex-partner it was not like that. I treated him rougher, regardless of his feelings and introducing him to the world of bdsm.

the story was not a big deal, I feel that everything happened very fast and I don't remember much about the story, the drawing is meh, with chapters that go by very quickly, giving the feeling that they are missing.

I give it 2.5 stars out of 5

This is so short! That is my only problem with this manga.
Other than this, I think it is very cute. It is not too erotic and it definitely serves as a quick read if someone wants to escape from reality for just a quick moment.

The manga is point blank when you start reading. The reader can already start to infer details of the characters past and just from their mannerisms, how the manga will play out. I know I most certainly did, and it did not discourage me from reading.

I have nothing but glowing reviews for this, and I feel that the author definitely brought out how even shy people that have scars from previous relationships can turn out for the better, in that things actually work out them. It seems that Saeki is slowly getting over his past in the manga and I wished that I could have seen that develop more over time in the relationship that he has now with Arima.

Overall, I would change nothing about this manga, other than the one nitpicky thing that I chose being the length of the manga.

Disclaimer: I received this book for free through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Not sure what happened but my review got deleted. I wanted to check out more of the author's work. It is for sure unique. The art was simple. Could have used a little more detail. The book was paced chaotically. Altogether, it wasn't something I have seen before, so I will give it that.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this novel for an honest review. It has been published in June 2022.

"A Story Of Love That I Do Not Know" by Sachi Murakami is not a standalone manga and should not be marketed as such because if it is, it's going to disappoint readers the way it disappointed me.
I love M/M romance, I love mangas, and I especially enjoy stories focussing on trauma, psychological recovery, boundaries, and consent. "A Story Of Love That I Do Not Know", however, was too short and too silly to make these very serious issues justice, or even to get myself emotionally involved in the characters' relationship.
Both the protagonist and his love interest were painfully clichéd and underdeveloped as characters.

ARC received from NetGalley. Overall rating= 3/5 stars.

Firstly, I want to start this review by stating that this is my first ever manga that I have read, so I am not well-versed on this genre. However, this was a sweet excerpt from the first volume of this manga series. The relationship between the main characters seemed sweet and wholesome, and I look forward to continuing my manga journey in the future.

3⭐️ A sweet little story about the early days (first 6 months) of a relationship between Saeki with some scars and Arima negotiating getting to know one another, what works, what’s ok to do, as well as how to feel about each other’s histories. This felt like a little glimpse in time, and star pictures and the story had a nice flow to them. I did struggle to get a feel for who the characters were and the dynamic between them, and at one point checked if I had accidentally gotten an n:th book in a series and was perhaps missing some context. But no, this is the first one and the author drops is right in there. I could have done with a bit more of a build up, a bit more characterisation to be swept away into their world and feels.

It wasn't exactly terrible and it really did hold a lot of promise but through the whole thing I couldn't stop asking myself "is this book one? Are chapters missing? I'm lost."
I feel like there needed to be more context and more of a .... storyline. It felt like this was a few chapters taken out of a book.
Would I read more if this was a series? Probably, just to see what the storyline really is, but in the end... it really just wasn't *enough*.

Do the first chapter make me want to read the other story from this book? No.
The storyline is pretty good. But not special. And I dont like when they do describe the problem in the text dialogue, not in the illustration. It's comic... geez

A sweet and gentle office worker who was saved from a scarring BDSM relationship by a neighbour. There's always something to be said about a palette cleansing manga. This one is very short, but also kind of sweet (never mind what it centres around them doing). As someone who reads a tonne of romance novels featuring more dark themed spicy scenes, a cute and fluffy (somewhat literally with the cat ears) piece with the not the most complex of storylines is somewhat refreshing for the mind.

This manga has a really great story of the romance between our two characters. Without knowing anything of them prior to this volume I was able to get a great sense of their personalities and how they navigate with one another and work together. The art style has an older anatomy feel to it but it was still nice with very clean images and nothing too busy or distracting. Overall it was cute and I think a lot of people will enjoy this one.

This sample was a little too short. I couldn't get invested in any of the characters. It might have helped if before going into a new book, there was a disclaimer of what order to read them in, I think if it was fully formed, I would be interested.

This is a very sweet short sample story from what I assume is a bigger collection. I wish I knew how to read the story before this because it makes it very hard for me to care about Arima & Saeki.

It’s an ok story but just made me want to read the story where Arima saved Saeki from his jerk ex boyfriend.

Thank you to Netgalley for letting me read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is the kind of story why I read BL. It's sweet and charming and has some of the most squee moments imaginable as two adults navigate the beginnings and pitfalls of a new relationship.
Both Arima and Saeki have things they're unsure about and it makes for some tensions and misunderstandings, but they always talk about and resolve it.
The short story about Saeki's sadistic ex is not as good but I enjoyed getting some more info on a character that shaped so much of Saeki's experience and expectations about relationships.
The art is basically what you would expect from looking at the cover, nothing out of this world in either the good or bad arena.
Overall, this is a super sweet read that I'll gladly recommend to BL fans.

Happy thanks to NetGalley, Media Do International, Inc., and Kobunsha Co., Ltd for the sweet read!
