Sadly this wasn't the book that I thought it was going to be. This for me read more like a text book than a help book. Having gone through a situation with my partner I wanted to read this to see if I could get some pointers in order to help. I did find parts of the book helpful but overall it was not what I was looking for.

I’m an educator so perhaps having had a lot of study on this topic already I wasn’t the intended audience? Perhaps this would be a good book if you’ve not come across this subject before and you want a quick, easy starter on grit and developing it in your kids.

The author references Angela Duckworth , which he totally should as her work on this topic is brilliant. However, I did find he referenced her a lot and I wanted a more extensive research field. There are nods to other experts but the main source seems to be Duckworth.

More of a 2.5 star book because there were some useful questions in each section that I will take away with me.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for gifting me this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
