Thank you NetGalley.
One aspect that stands out is its attempt to introduce readers to the principles of Ayurveda in a simple and accessible manner. The book covers topics such as doshas, diet, and lifestyle recommendations, which are fundamental to understanding Ayurveda.
However, while the book has its merits, it falls short in its execution. It is somewhat underwhelming and confusing at times. Despite these challenges, the book offers a glimpse into the approach to health and wellness that Ayurveda advocates.

Great book, absolutely adding to my Ayurveda collection. Highly recommend for anyone want more references and context to Ayurvedic life.
I found this book to be incredibly insightful. I wanted to gain a better understanding of Ayurveda and this book was great! If you're a beginner, this is a great resource tool! Highly recommend!
Ive always been intrigued by Ayurvedic living, particularly diet and massage, having had a few massages in India. This book was very insightful, interesting and informative, a great addition to knowledge of this practice and lifestyle!
This book very loudly toots its own horn from the offset and makes the highest of claims - "straightforward Ayurvedic dietary advice that will guarantee that you won't fall ill, incur more medical expenses, or, worse still, pass away at a young age."
No book should be claiming such things.
I support natural medicine. I support meditation. I support leading a healthy lifestyle. I support all the good stuff.
However, the first half of this book is hard to get through and not easy to follow. The information is scattered and unorganised, and is so very repetitive.
The second half is a bit better and features mostly food and recipes.
I feel this definitely needs to be edited and polished to make it readable. The first half is likely to turn readers off from completing the rest of the book.
Learning of the Ayurvedic approach seems interesting, it's a shame it is lost in this book.
I really enjoyed this book, never really knew what Ayurveda was, so this was very useful.
Thank you NetGalley for my complimentary copy in return for my honest review.
This is the second book about Ayurveda that I've read, and although this book was better than the first, I still was left a little underwhelmed by it. It got a little repetitive and boring after awhile and was hard for me to finish reading.
Really enjoyed this book on the benefits of following Ayurveda principles and how to incorporate into your life. A good reference book for when I’m feeling a bit lost. Recommend.
Some good info if you don't know anything about Ayurveda, especially what it is and the history. Does get very repetitive though. And a few paragraphs seem to contradict each other (very confusing). Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book
This was a fantastic introduction into Ayurveda. I was already familiar with many concepts but it was great to have them laid out in plain language. I loved all the practical tips. I would happily recommend this to anyone looking for an introduction into Ayurveda.
I found this an interesting read. It is titled for beginners and is very thorough. I was soon googling where there was an Ayurvedaic practice near me!
You could read this from the beginning or just pick out the bits that interest you. Very good advice and explanations throughout.
I read a proof copy provided by Netgalley. and the publishers.
Ayurveda Beginner's Guide by Goffredo Righi Schwammer is an interesting and short read.
I do hope that it is edited again and perhaps some of the instances where things were repeated multiple times could be paired down a little better. I know that some information was repeated 2 or 3 times. Even though the information was helpful I found the repetition to be distracting.
Also, at times I felt that saying taking some Ayurvedic remedies could lead to harmful effects and then in the next paragraph talk about it's amazing benefits. I think this may be for legal reasons, but still feel a notation or footnote would be better.
Overall, with a little more reworking this could be a very informative and useful book and a good introduction to Ayurveda.
Thank you to #NetGalley, #BooksGoSocial, and Goffredo Righi Schwammer for the ARC of #AyurvedaBeginner'sGuide.
