The Wrong Bones (Widow's Island #10) by Melinda Leigh
This novella is fantastic, fast paced - edge of your seat great. Deputy Tessa Black and her fiancé, park ranger Logan Wilde find the remains of a teenage girl. They work together to solve the mystery. There is danger, mystery, suspense, wonderful friends and family, a missing chicken, family drama, some laughs, tears and strong love to get to a HEA. I was happy to read and review this book.

The Wrong Bones is the tenth (& maybe final?) book in the Widow's Island series by Melinda Leigh. This crime drama can easily be read as a standalone book.

I loved how fast paced this book is! I read it in one sitting and could not put it down! The characters are great, so likable and interesting. The story was incredible! I loved trying to solve the mystery! The suspense was awesome!!!

I highly recommend this book to crime drama fans.

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
This was a fast paced and a short suspenseful story. It kept me interested all the way through and guessing who the cemetery digger was.
Great short story!

A fast paced thriller that I think is difficult to pack into such a short book. Apparently the 10th in a series of novellas about Widow Island, I think I might've appreciated some of the storylines more had I read the prior books. However, you can totally read this as a stand alone. It's well written with a few twists and easily readable in one sitting. I'd definitely read more from Melinda Leigh but will probably stick to novels.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for gifting me this ARC in exchange for my honest review!

This was a nice, quick read. When Deputy Tessa Black discovers a man disturbing a grave, she gives chase. She doesn't catch him but does discover he wasn't robbing a grave, he was trying to bury a box of bones. The remains turn out to be a missing teenager, but who killed her?

This was a smooth, engaging read. Even though it is part of a series, it reads well as a stand-alone book. I wasn't particularly shocked by anything that happened in the book, but I still enjoyed reading it.

Thanks again to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to review this book.

Excellent book! Mesmerizing! I finished it very fast because I couldn’t wait to find out how it ended! This is a mystery/ murder set in the pacific north west. Someone sees someone attempting to bury bones in a cemetery. How creepy is that? Who was it? Why are they burying the bones? You’ll have to read it to find out

Another great fast paced visit to the island! I’m sad this series is over but I loved the wedding at the end. Both books wrapped up nicely. And the best part of the series was these three women’s friendship.

Family, endurance, friendship, mystery and love, what a great series.

I love reading about real characters and this novella has plenty. Deputy Tessa Black has some mysterious bones, a wedding to plan and her mother has Alzheimer's. The people of the community of Widow's Island come together to help with everything. Love this series!!

I love this series. It alternates between Kendra Elliot writing about Cate Wilde and Melinda Leigh writing about Deputy Tessa Black and it just works so well. Even though it’s a short book this has everything you need in a crime thriller. A lovable lead with some romance, a weird crime with a lack of leads, then a couple of suspects, and a dramatic hunt for the killer. It’s the perfect one sitting read.

The final part of the Widow's Island series is here. It's rather bittersweet as I've loved this series. Gentle romance mixes with suspense and murder.

Deputy Tessa Black is looking forward to her wedding and is hoping for the island's crime to quiet down so she can look forward to it. Sadly, the island has more work for her when some teenagers stop her in a panic as they saw someone digging in a grave at the cemetery!

Sure enough, someone was digging around and when backup arrives in the shape of her fiance, Tessa finds a box containing bones! The discovery of the bones is just the beginning - Tessa and Logan now have to deal with possible child endangerment, burglary, and a killer willing to dismember bodies!

Tessa is such a wonderful character. She is full of patience and dealing with her mother's dementia whilst working full time and having a fiance is no easy task. Logan just takes everything in his stride and I love how seamlessly his friends to lovers relationship with Tessa evolved. Patience is well named, for a teenager she has a wise head on her shoulders and helps out as much as she can with their mother.

There are lots of twists and the plot was well-paced and structured. All my loose ends were tied up and our little island was left on a happy note! The island really is a character itself and I love the descriptions of its wild but remote beauty. A fitting end to the series and I'm on tenterhooks to see what new series the authors come up with.

I read an advance copy of this book via NetGalley and the thought and opinions within this review are my own.

This is my first book by this author and the 10th in the series. I was able to jump right in without feeling lost and really enjoyed the mystery and characters. I will definitely have to go back and read to others now.

Widow’s Island is located off the coast of Washington state. The town of North Sound is usually pretty quiet after the summer season and crime is low. Deputy Tessa Black is on night patrol and spots someone digging up a grave and learns they were attempting to hide the bones of a missing teen.
Logan Wilde is Tessa’s fiancé and the local park ranger. He assists the police in the small community. The pair soon learn that the girl disappeared nine months ago from an island nearby. Will they be able to find the killer before another person is murdered?

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

Deputy Tessa Black spots a man disturbing a grave in the local cemetery and gives chase. But when she catches him, Tessa learns that the ghoulish trespasser wasn’t robbing graves; he was burying a box of bones. The Wrong Bones by Melinda Leigh is a very good novella.

I really liked the character, Patience. The Wrong Bones is engaging, a quick read, and a good introduction to the Melinda Leigh series and the characters if you haven't read these books already.

The story grabs your attention right from the start and keeps moving forward with heart-pounding action, solid characters, and a great atmosphere. Fans of Melinda Leigh will like this novella. She has an engaging writing style.

I would give this a solid 4 out of 5 stars.

This book was a page turner from beginning to end. Chasing a grave robber in this quick novella has you guessing and head spinning until the very last page. Highly recommend. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

4* Another solid tale in this series, packed into a novella. Perhaps the very end of the series?

Even if you've not read all of the tales in this series, it's not hard to pick up where the previous tale left off and hit the ground running. They're mini adventures that stand up well and take place over a few days at the most, max a week, and that provide a solid tale with danger and drama and police procedurals, with a side of romance. I like that the latter doesn't detract or overshadow the tales and that there's a real storyline.

Based on this, and on the previous tale that came out last week, this is likely the end of the series. The authors' afterwords seem to indicate this, too, but this isn't their first collab and I expect more.

A short story with a full plot. I read this fast, but it has more going on than you would think considering how few pages there are. A great book to read when you don't have much time but want a complete book

I was fortunate enough to receive an ARC copy of this book in return for a fair and honest review.

I have read the previous books in this series, which I would recommend reading in order as it builds on the character development and overall back story of the books, as these novellas are only short. It took me around 2.5 hours to read this one. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this and couldn't put it down once I started. I found the book gripping and sensitive to living with dementia. I think there is still scope to carry on with this series and I hope the author(s) continue with more books in the series, as I for one am not ready to put the characters to bed just yet!

Deputy Tessa Black discovers someone trying to bury bone’s in a cemetery. Who is trying to bury the bones, why and who do the bones belong to. This is a good story with plenty of suspense, I just wish it had been longer. It is part of the Widows Island series written by Kendra and Melinda, but could be read as a stand alone. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

WOW! What talent to write 5 of 10 novellas in a series. I have read and loved them all. Why would someone be burying a box of bones? Tessa and Logan must find the answers before someone else dies. I hope this isn’t the end of the series. Thanks to NetGalley, Montlake and the Author for allowing me to read and review this book.

A fantastic quick read. I adore this series and the bite size novellas are great for a fast paced , jump right in book. Wonderfully suspenseful and jaw dropping. Characters that have been so well developed they feel like friends. A heart stopping, jaw dropping page turned or epic proportions.
