The premise of the book of running a travelling Christmas shop is quite interesting, and Seren finds herself the owner of an old ice cream van after an offhand comment to her Aunt Nelly. But losing her job, and finding romance with Daniel, can change her life completely if she has the courage to follow her dreams.

For a sweet Christmas read try The Cosy Travelling Christmas Shop by Lilac Mills. A converted ice cream truck brings together Seren and Daniel. Both are still trying to find their way to full-time careers as they are wondering if love has past them by. Both care deeply for family especially the older ones. I truly loved that about them. These two wonderful characters are well developed with personalities and emotions that you have felt yourself. While the truck is part of the story this book is much more about their new friendship that turns into a true romance. Of course there are plenty of bumps in the relationship road as well as the career road too. However that is exactly what makes this an interesting read.

Beautifully described setting, scenery, and activities so the story that it puts you in the cold Christmas holiday spirit. I like that too about this book especially since I read it on some of the hottest days where I live. A sweet breath of cooler air seemed to be what I felt as I read.

I recommend The Cosy Travelling Christmas Shop that will remind you of the joys of the holiday season.

An ARC of the book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

It's almost the Christmas time!!

I have always been a fan of Lilac Mills' book and would make sure to read most of her books. This story is about a woman named Seren has an aunt Aunt Nelly who hated being in the care home during the Christmas time. Seren comes up with an idea of converting an ice cream tuck into a shop that sells Christmas gifts. As she travels around the town, she meets a handsome Santa named Daniel and a romance is kindled between the two. But running a travelling shop wasn't as easy as Seren thought and it comes with greater risks, including her suspension from her current job...

Reading this book made me feel like I was watching a Hallmark Christmas Romance movie on the TV. The descriptions of the places also gave a sense of Christmas holidays to the reader and so I actually had a fun time feeling like Christmas. I also liked the writing and the author did a good job of making the reader feel like they are a part of the story as well. Overall, if you like a cheesy Christmas romance novel and you are looking for one, then this book is one for you--worth 4.5 stars!

Many thanks to Netgalley and Canelo for the ARC. The review is based on my honest opinion only.

Yes it's a litte bit funny to read christmas novels end of august, but I love christmas all over the year.

The main persons are definitly Seren and Daniel, but there are so many people who have influence on this story and also it's destiny.

A wonderful soft and a little bit surprising christmas novel, that will definitly open up your heart and fill it with christmas happiness.

I love the old people so much in this book.

Soft and cosy romance which made me having some wonderful reading hours.

Enjoy reading!

Seren's aunt is in a care home and is complaining that there is no way that people in her situation who aren't mobile can view gifts they want to buy rather than just ordering them online so the idea of a mobile gift shop is born and an ice cream can is converted into the gift shop
Can Seren make it work alongside her regular job in a supermarket or will something have to give ?

Thank you NetGalley, Lilac Mills and Canelo for the ARC of The Cosy Travelling Christmas Shop. This is my personal review.
Seren has a mission to fulfill when she finds out her aunt Nelly with is in a care home wants to buy holiday gifts but does not want to shop online to get them. This gives Seren the idea to bring the gift shop to her. She finds an ice cream truck and makes it into a traveling gift shop to take around for people to shop in a way that fills the need. Not only did she make many people happy she found things she was not even looking for when she started this adventure.
I adored the idea of Seren’s to solve a problem and all the characters in this story. Reading this book was a pure joy to read for me.

Yay! Books by Lilac Mills always make me smile. And I liked this Christmas story especially as she was critical about the commercialism of the festivities and about consumerism in general - delicately, that is. Not in an obtrusive way.

Also interesting characters with some men not being defined by their testosterone. However, being a Lilac Mills fan and being a chronic myself, let me use this as an opportunity to suggest just a wee bit more inclusiveness when it comes to skin color, sexual preferences, religion, history, cultural background, income (or lack of), and chronics next time? Nicole could've been married to Eve instead of Adam? Someone in a wheelchair perhaps?

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of the book.

This book was ok. It was a quick, easy read. I liked the idea of the traveling Christmas store. The van worked well.

Seren loves her Aunt Nelly and when visiting her in her care home her Aunt tells her that as she can no longer get to the shops easily she wishes the shops would come to her. When the mobile library arrives they both decide it would be a good idea if a gift shop could visit but unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be such a thing. Undeterred, Seren’s father buys an old ice cream van and it is soon converted into a travelling gift shop.
Seren begins taking the van to Christmas markets where she keeps meeting gorgeous Daniel.
There are challenges and surprises in store, both in her work and personal life and Seren needs to meet them head on if she wants to be happy.
Such a lovely, funny, warm book. It’s like having a cup of hot chocolate on a very cold day.

First I want to thank @netgalley and the publisher for a chance to read this arc in exchange for an honest review.

I was enjoying this book so much until that third act breakup. It was so cute and wholesome and just everything you'd want from a Christmas novel. The writing was done fairly well and I enjoyed the characters at the start. The premise was super unique and I love that Seren had a normal job working at the supermarket to start and that she had yet to find her passions. It's real and raw.

My least favorite trope is miscommunication or the lack of it, and that's exactly what this book contained. First of all, there was no discussion of the past or previous relationships. No deep dive into the life of the other person. Nothing pisses me off more than when something happens that can bery easily be avoided when stuff is communicated.

Second of all, the third act breakup happened because Daniel's friend said Seren had a daughter just because he saw her with a little girl. Could be anyone, but the friend just assumed. And we all know what happens when you assume things.... so instead if just asking Seren about it, Daniel had already decided to never date anyone with kids again because if the heartbreak that happens when something goes wrong. This dude must be dimwitted because if someone has a kid and starts dating, thats something that should be talked about up front. Especially if he already dated someone with a child. I speak from experience because I came into my relationship with my partner already having kids. And guess what, that conversation happened very early on.

This whole situation really ruined the book for me. I thought for sure there wouldn't be a 3rd act breakup and I was so excited. There are better things to do to create conflict that doesn't involve the actual couples and breaking up.

Lovely feel good book to read. It was a joy to read. Lovely characters. Great plot. The book was charming. Very well written. I’d definitely recommend this book. Very different type of location that set the tone of the book to perfection. Perfect seasonal book to get you in the mood for the festive season.

This was a lovely, heart warming read. I loved that Seren wanted to do something to help her great aunt Nelly and the other care home residents. A travelling gift van is such genius and I really hope we get to see it again decked out for another season / occasion.
Daniel is an identifiable character and I really sympathised with him over losing Amelia in his break up. The care and love he shows Seren is beautiful and he realises he has to have the potential of heart break to truly love her and be loved.
A lovely quick festive read.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

Nelly, who is the great aunt of Seren lives in a care home and hates it, even more around Christmas, because she and the others living there can’t go out and look at things in shops to buy.

So Seren decides to let them do this by bringing a shop to them, by transforming a ice cream van into a gift shop, going round Tinstone, she helps those that are unable to leave their homes buy what they need.

Whilst out travelling she’s always meeting a handsome Father Christmas, who is helping out during the festive season.

But has Serena taken on more than she can handle? Or will her travelling shop bring festive happiness for the residents of Tinstone?

I recommend this book.
