This was a very cute book that follows an immigrant family as they try to make their way in America. I loved how the authors brought in cultural aspects such as the Lucky Cat to show that no matter where you immigrated, you can still incorporate your homeland in your life and success. The artwork was cute and well-designed, and the writing was simple in a good way. It got to the point.

When June and her parents move to a new place; they settle in and begin their new business venture. When a fantastical Lucky Cat appears, June believes that luck will come quickly for their family business, but loses hope when it doesn't. Finally, after many trials and errors; the family finds their calling for their business.

I love the beautiful illustrations and the meaning behind the story. This is a book I wish I had growing up -- I would've loved to be able to see illustrations of characters who looked like me, recognize familiar objects such as the Lucky Cat in books, and learn and understand about the efforts and hard work immigrants put in to create a home in a different country. I appreciate the ABG girls releasing this children's book so that readers can see themselves and their families in books at a young age. This was an enjoyable read for readers of all ages!

Lucky Cat by the collaborative hosts of the AsianBossGirls podcast was a delight to read. Authors Melody Cheng, Janet Wang, and Helen Wu have written a very refreshing tale of an Asian immigrant family on their journey to find their own path. Through the help of a fantastical Lucky Cat, the family finally finds their perfect calling in their new country.

I really enjoyed how an universally known figure like the Lucky Cats, who are seen in many Asian businesses worldwide, is used to bring a sense of familiarity to anyone who reads this. I also have to mention the beautiful and whimsical illustrations by the talented Eunice Chen, which brought such a special element to this story.

With the current social climates we are in, stories like this that can bring a universal sense of humanity to other cultures are incredibly important. I feel that this is sure to be a story enjoyed by children and parents alike.

June and her parents have moved for a new life, they bought a building and plan on making it their new business. When Lucky Cat becomes real June thinks the luck will soon come but business after business doesn’t work out and she loses hope. Then June finds the solution for what business they should be doing.

This was really adorable, they just wanted to have a wonderful new life and find a job that suited them all as a family. I loved that the parents never once got discouraged and just kept trying. June was so cute trying to help with everything but it didn’t always work out right.

This was visually beautiful the illustrations were amazing and I adored looking at them all, the images themselves could have told the story. I really enjoyed this book, it was really sweet, shared a story of an Asian immigrant family just trying to do their best, it showed not to give up when things are hard or don’t work out. It had lots of really sweet messages and it was also just a really sweet and easy read.

This book is dedicated to me. The first page reads "To all the families who left their motherlands in hopes of a better future for their children." Well, hello from a Hungarian family living in Germany.

I like children's books with real-life situations. In this picture book, an Asian family is moving to the USA, starting a new life from scratch. Little June is afraid but finds a friend in the form of a Lucky Cat, and by the end of the book we all learn what real luck is.

The cheerful illustrations make this uplifting story cute and appealing to children.

This story shares some insights into immigrant and Asian cultures. The family-focused theme is perfect for young kids. Lucky Cat adds an element of whimsy while also sharing a bit of Asian culture. My kiddos loved this book!
