A man returns home to Nigeria, reconnects with an old flame, and she ends up getting killed. He decides to avenge her death by becoming a vigilante, going after the group that committed that heinous act, called Black Path. The leader, being someone he knows.
Wow. What a thrilling ride with this story. I was engaged from beginning to end, and was unable to put this book down until I was completely finished. The author did such an amazing job with this book. I truly enjoyed this wonderful and entertaining read. I will be looking for any future works from this author.
I received a copy of the book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving an honest review of my own thoughts and opinions.
Otis Lovejoy returns to Nigeria frustrated and disillusioned, unaware that the country has changed since the five years that he was away. Civil unrest have sprung up sociopathic terrorist groups like the Black Path, of which his brother has gotten involved with.
A bomb goes off in a market square killing hundreds of lives, one of which happens to be his girlfriend. With nothing to lose, Otis becomes a vigilante and goes after the leaders of the Black Path, not knowing of the mysterious hands that's likely guiding him towards his death.
Strange one this, as I am still trying to work out if I enjoyed it or not!
I need to get into a book early doors, and to be honest I did, but then the story became somewhat predictable. I did, however, keep reading.
A bit too straight forward and could have done with a couple more twists, other than the that there was.
